Nice Display, Speedy setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing and set up is a breeze. Had it out of box and setup in all of 5 mins. Only drawback in setup up is the wait for Windows. Love the slider for the camera, and the speakers are something to be desired for, they sound ok but not great. This would be soooo much better if it contained a SSD instead of the HDD, still zippy though. My old set up was a dual screen set, but that is really missed here.. Overall I am pleased, two thumbs up. Also no clutter of wires for everything and comes with bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi option.

Good Mid-Range System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I typically am a laptop person but have been wanting more screen space lately. The choices are an external monitor or switching over to a desktop system. I've been avoiding the desktop route as they've typically required lots of space, which I didn't have. The Lenovo - 730S-24IKB All-in-one offers a nice compromise in between the two, where you have a desktop system but no tower, so the only thing taking up space is the monitor, which also houses the CPU/memory/hard drive, etc. At 11 pounds, the unit definitely isn't a truly portable system like a laptop but it can immensely be more easily moved around between different rooms of the house if you want to without having to strain to look at a smaller screen of a laptop. The system is reasonably fast with its Intel Core i7/8GB memory setup. The 1TB HD also gives you plenty of space to store your music, movies, pictures, etc. Do listen to your audio through your (optionally Bluetooth) headphones though, as the audio speakers don't offer the best sound. I think this is the first desktop I've had with a touchscreen. After having for so long on laptops/phones, would feel backwards to not have any more. Runs really quiet. Some cons... The keyboard does feel a little cramped. I'd love to have an SSD HD included. If not for the full TB, perhaps a smaller one to speed up help boot time. At just $1k price, though, you get a 128MB cache but not a full SSD as that doesn't fit into the price point. A non-trial version of anti-virus software would have been nice. Better speakers. Would prefer a larger range of heights for the monitor. Currently need to put on a few books to raise to a more comfortable level. Works well for the typical user. I wouldn't connect an HTC Vive to it but does well enough for my lower-end gaming needs.

Great size, and picture-slow process

The touch screen works well but seems to go to sleep with the screen and takes a while to wake back up. The setup was easy out of the box, pretty plug-and-play. But something I noticed with the last few Windows 10 PC/laptops I have started from scratch, they want to walk you through the startup with voice prompts (and they can be loud and hard to turn off). Sometimes it takes some work and wait on steps to get the keyboard and mouse to work. The steps are easy to follow though and it does not take long at all, probably 15-20 min total. Since it is an all in one, its a little heavy (compared to a monitor). I believe this is largely due to the base. The keyboard is very compact, but both keyboard and mouse work great, and I prefer the small USB wireless plugs to the wired/larger adapters. There are only a few USB ports (similar to a laptop but less than a desktop) so it can get filled up quick. I watched a movie on it and have done some browsing. The picture is great, the sound is okay, the web speed is a little slower than my other laptops/tablets. Also the loading time on other programs is a little slower as well. I have been running it over cable so I haven't tested the WiFi speed other than to know it works. I have not run any web or PC games on it yet either to compare those speeds. In all I'd recommend the product. It is a great stand alone unit, and takes up very little space. It is not portable due to the weight/shape.

Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.
