My nine year old was so excited to have her own laptop. I just purchased a MacBook Air for myself so I decided to buy her something less expensive. I came across this lap and the reviews were mixed, but mostly fair to good comments. There were about two comments that made me hesitate, but the other comments convinced me that this would be a fair purchase for a nine year old. When my kid opened it, she described it as a "tablet with a keyboard". I was a little offended but I agreed, it looked and felt cheap. She used this laptop each day after school since January 2017. It is now April 12th 2017 and the computer is completely frozen, the mouse doesn't work, it is SUPER slow, listed above were all problems that would occur and subside but now the computer is DEAD I'm going to return it to BestBuy and receive a credit since I have my online receipt, and buy her another brand of laptop. Please Do Not Purchase This Piece Of Junk!!! Spare yourself the aggravation. Its nothing like seeing your child look so forward to a long relationship with a cool piece of equipment just to be let down three months later.

Posted .We are sorry to hear of the troubles your child is experiencing with the Lenovo IdeaPad 110s-11 laptop. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the top left side of the device, right near the left hinge on the device and the power button. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files.

Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. You can do this by just typing "restore point" in the search window within Cortana and follow the link to create a restore point. Here is the link:

It's possible that this particular one was defective. Plus, the type kept jumping. Upon returning the product I was told that the keypad sensitivity can be adjusted in settings. Just keep in mind, this is an inexpensive computer. Sometimes you have to spend a little bit more to get the quality your looking for.

Posted .If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults.
