Great Budget Laptop

With 8GB of RAM and 2.6GHz processor, this laptop boots up with a quickness. I have had this for 2 days and already done several multitasking functions with ease. If you need this for Zoom or online schooling, this would definitely be ideal. It’s also very lightweight and easy to carry around. I haven’t tested the battery life but it took less than an hour to fully charge from 20% out of the box. I’ve been a fan of Lenovo laptops for a while, and while I’m a firm believer in “you get what you pay for”, this laptop gives you more than that. It feels like I’m using a $600 laptop.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 81W1018XUS. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode 64-bit Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Initial setup of Windows 10 S-Mode is the same as with Windows 10 Home. Here is a link to a YouTube video that introduces Windows 10 S-Mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxPtKKLikAk&t=24s. This Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 ships with a standard QWERTY Keyboard with a 10-Key Numeric Pad included. The touchpad is centered under the QWERTY Keys, so that when the typist's hands are in the Home Position on the keyboard, the touchpad is centered under the typist's hands for easy access.

Buyer beware!

Boots up to the start window, but as soon I press a button that would normally get me to the login screen, it goes black/blank. Tried plugging it in to another monitor source with the same results. Tried to change out the memory, disconnected the battery and turn on with just the power supply andit does the same thing, (yes turns on without the battery and just a power supply.) Had upgraded the SSD prior to this problem, so I even tried putting the original SSD back in and still, the same issue. So this is not a software/driver issue, it's hardware. Eventually used the SSD in a new desktop build with no issues. If you're looking for a laptop very short term then go ahead and get it because this thing does not last very long. Read a review similar to my issue and their's lasted about one year less than mine. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LAPTOP! Or this brand!!

Decent Laptop for the Price

It is nice that it has 8 GB ram and it's an overall decent laptop. I bought it for my mother and she is perfectly happy with it. I will say that some other reviewers pointed out the screen doesn't get very bright and they are absolutely correct.

This configuration ships with a 15.6 inch screen (screen size measured diagonally) IPS - FHD (1920x1080) screen, with a brightness level of 250 nits and has an Anti-glare coating. If you are getting less than expected screen brightness, be sure that auto/adaptive brightness is turned off then adjust the screen brightness, manually to your personal preferences. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad.

Also stop selling laptops without DVD players, not like you used that extra space for a hard drive storage.
