This laptop checks almost every box I was looking for in a gaming laptop. It has solid build quality, and is much quieter than the previous Lenovo Legion products I've owned, especially if gaming on balanced mode. This thing is a beast... You can pretty much max out the graphics settings in most games and it'll still run buttery smooth. The cooling that exhausts through the back is surprisingly efficient, and I think justifies the relocation of the ports to the sides of the machine vs. the previous generations that had them on the back. The fans move A LOT of air, so I feel confident in the cooling over time. The powerful Intel CPU runs hot, and can spike well above 90C under load, but average temps are usually much much lower. Overall, the selling point for me on this particular model was the 240Hz OLED screen, which is by far the greatest I've ever played on. The glossy screen effectively preserves those deep blacks and super rich OLED colors unlike any matte screen could, and I've found the screen brightness is adequate enough to easily use the laptop without issue even in a well-lit room. I'm incredibly happy with this machine, and I think Lenovo absolutely nailed it with gen 10.

Honestly wasn't planning on buying one of these when I initially saw the design and first impressions - however due to this being available before any of the new ASUS products I decided to pull the trigger. I have to say, I'm impressed - the screen is gorgeous, the keys are nice, and the speakers sound surprisingly good (I'd say they're not as good as the G14/G16 but close and I'm happy with them). I did immediately turn off pretty much all of the rainbow vomit lighting except for the keyboard. Also as a pleasant surprise, this comes with 2TB of storage (2 x 1TB), contrary to the Best Buy listing saying it only had 1TB. I've been playing Forza Horizon 5 (where it averages about 155fps without any DLSS) and Sniper Elite. The system stays remarkably quiet on balanced mode. I haven't noticed any issues with overheating. Also this came with a minimal amount of bloatware pre-installed, mostly just McAfee and some Microsoft rubbish. The new LegionSpace app seems efficient and well organized - no issues with it so far - much better experience than Armoury Crate or Razer Synapse. At one point in the last year I had a G16 4090 so I'll use that as my point of comparison. The Legion was priced about $300 cheaper than the old G16 and the new 5080 G16, has the 275HX instead of 285H the G16 has, and has user serviceable RAM. The Legion also runs at the full 175W of the GPU whereas the G16s have reduced power limits due to the thin size and cooling restraints. I think that the design of the G16 and speakers might be the two points I'd give to ASUS, but for the money, the Legion is solid. I also like that Lenovo offers an option to extend the warranty an additional 3 years for just over $100. I've seen a number of folks gripe about Lenovo removing the rear I/O on the Legion - I personally don't mind - the charging port is located in the back corner, so its out of the way and I don't plug much of anything else into my laptop (wireless mouse and keyboard). All in all, I'm hanging on to this one and recommend it 100%.

I originally ordered the ASUS - ROG Strix G18 5080 back on February 25, but after dealing with a couple of delays and receiving two notifications about further hold-ups, I decided to cancel my order and try something different. That’s when I went for the Lenovo Legion 5080—and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Right out of the box, this laptop has impressed me with its stunning display and cutting-edge design. It’s not just about looks, though. I’ve upgraded it with a 4TB NVMe SSD and 96GB of RAM, and the performance is nothing short of extraordinary. It truly "roars" under heavy loads, handling everything I throw at it with ease. Whether you're gaming, editing, or running demanding applications, the Legion 5080 has more than enough power to handle it. The build quality feels premium, and it’s clear that Lenovo has put a lot of thought into both aesthetics and functionality. In conclusion, despite the initial setbacks with my first choice, I’m thrilled with the Lenovo Legion 5080. It’s fast, reliable, and a joy to use. If you're looking for a powerhouse of a laptop, this one definitely delivers!

It works great, can run every game I want without any issues. This laptop is a must if you want something with the newer graphics technology. I use this more than my pc now. This is a costly machine, but has outstanding performance and quality. I have real enjoyed my new laptop so far. It does weigh a little more than I would have hoped for at almost 6 pounds and the power cord is on the large size. The screen is outstanding as well. The 16” size is great. I would have liked the screen to be a touch screen.

This is one of the most impressive laptops ive seen from best buy. Lenovo knows how to keeps the prices fair compared to competitors. This is a beast of a computer. One of the specs isnt right on best buys website. Unless mine was a fluke. I opened it up to insert a another ssd thinking that there would be an empty slot.. to my surprise there was another 1tb ssd for a total of 2tb! The sound is definitely not as good as the asus zephyrus oled g16 but the screen is way better in my opinion. Lenovo really killed it this year with the oled panel. Smooth and beautiful even without gsync.. lenovo seems to use its own adaptive sync that really didn’t work for me in the past but this time they nailed it. This thing is a little heating pad. The cpu runs VERY hot. In performance mode the cpu stayed over 100c while gaming. Doesnt seem to healthy but im no expert. It didn’t seem to effect performance at all. They make it easy to set your desired max temp in the customized performance setting and i couldn’t even tell if it slowed it down at all. Its not the prettiest laptop on the world. They did decorate it with a lot of led lights but when they are off its very plain. Its very light and easy to halndle. Overall, I think its a keeper!

I bought this laptop to replace my old gaming laptop that is starting to have motherboard issues. Had it shipped to me and was my doorstep the next day. Upon unboxing my newest toy, I couldn’t help but admire the build quality and how fast it was. The OLED screen is amazing. The colors pop at you and the difference is night and day from LCD/LED screens. I ran a 3DMark Steel Nomad benchmark and scored a 5240. Not bad at all. I will be running benchmark again as I had several applications running in the background which may skew the score. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Its hard to compare this laptop to anything other than its own premium laptop gaming segment from other brands. At this price point you can get a full workstation/powerhouse gaming desktop pc. But you are browsing a laptop, so that's not a choice. You need portability ('ish). And this laptop will do anything on the go. Compared to hp omen, msi victus, razer blade, Alienware, asus strix, etc. Lenovo offers: top build quality, excellent acoustics, not so flashy aesthetics (but not as discrete as razer blade), great thermals at the cost of removing ports from the back to the laterals; great and seamless legion software UI to target specific tasks between quiet, balance and performance modes; disappointing battery life, but still better than an Alienware, so not lowest tier, standard mid tier keyboard, best display quality of the roster, cumbersome 400W charger brick.

It's a beast performance wise. Benchmark wise, single core 20% higher than HX370 of my G16, 37% higher in multicore. GPU is about 20% higher than 4080 on my M16. Weight is ok, 6 lbs is heavier than average but still acceptable. The package is thicker than previous gen for better cooling. Excellent speakers, a big step up from previous gen, almost on par with G16. Beautiful OLED screen, brightness is more than enough. Memory is expandable! Two slots for SSD (Both occupied tho, took me a while to figure which one is the OS drive) and two slots for DDR5. Battery wise, it's HX series CPU, shorter battery life than HX370, 185h, on par with 13900H but Lenovo is nice enough to put a 99whr battery inside.

I’ve been using the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 (Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX / RTX 5080 / 32GB RAM / 2TB SSD) for a few weeks now, and this thing is an absolute beast. From the moment I booted it up, I could tell this was built for serious gamers and power users. The RTX 5080 crushes every game I throw at it — max settings, ray tracing, ultra textures — no problem. Pair that with the Ultra 9 CPU, and multitasking is buttery smooth. I edit 4K video, run VMs, and game all on one machine without breaking a sweat. The WQXGA 240Hz display is stunning. Colors are vivid, brightness is solid even in daylight, and the refresh rate makes everything feel snappy. The Legion ColdFront cooling keeps performance up even under load, and fan noise is surprisingly reasonable. Build quality? Top-notch. The keyboard is comfortable for long gaming or coding sessions, and the RGB lighting is customizable and subtle — not overly flashy. The 2TB SSD makes load times nearly instant. I also appreciate the little touches like Legion AI Engine+ for dynamic optimization and the easy upgrade options. Lenovo nailed it with this one. If you’re on the fence — just buy it. It’s easily one of the best gaming laptops of 2025. Worth every dollar.

Overall very powerful, runs everything i throw at it without any issues! Less noise than Asus G16 and this year the OLED is just taking it to the next level! Upgarded RAM to 64GB and Primary ssd slot compatible with gen 5 so it reads up 13-14k. Also its lighter than it looks imo.

Quick review GPU(max power) + CPU = 175W + 100W GPU + CPU(max power) = 150W + 180W CPU = ~38000 cinebench r23 GPU = ~21000 Time Spy(non extreme) Screen looks awesome at 240Hz refresh rate. Zero ghosting using UFO screen test at highest speed. Legion space is great for power allocation and fan curve. Fans are quiet. No hums or whine, just the sound of moving air. Speakers are great. Better than tablet or smartphone speakers. Worse than dedicated speaker system. Lowest audible frequency is around 65Hz. Keyboard keys are firm. Requires some force to push down. Track pad is sturdy. Makes audible click and isn't mushy. The ports are good, but I wish there was at least one Thunderbolt 5 port. Only thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 gen 2. M.2 NVME gen 5 port is the one closest to the USBC ports. Or if the battery is oriented towards the bottom, it would be on the right side, closest to the RAM modules. Comes with 2 x 16GB of 6400MT/s modules. Max RAM capacity is 64GB according to command line, wmic memorychip get maxcapacity. Would've liked to see 128GB or even 96GB. Has everything I need, but missing somethings I would like. Compared to every other RTX 5080 laptop out there, this is the only one with everything that I absolutely need. Overall, 4/5 because I am satisfied with my purchase.

Replaced my aging Lenovo Y700. For me the speed boost and overall hardware is pretty fast. The RGB keyboard is pretty slick as is the app that controls it all. Only comment is that the right "Control" key on keyboard is now the MS Copilot launch key, makes coding a bit trickier. I plan to find a way to remap it. But overall, a great machine and happy with purchase. My Y700 lasted almost 9 years and served me well, I expect this to be the same. It has 2 1TB drives, not a single 2TB, but you can upgrade them as needed to provide crazy space, 16TB if you can afford the steep cost of SSD's. Hope this helps perspective buyers.

Initially had some struggles with this laptop. If anyone has any issues with it playing highly taxing games with lots of random stuttering, especially if it is accompanied by GPU utilization dropping even down to 0% at default settings for Optimus/power, I was able to figure out the problem. Make sure to run the laptop in dedicated GPU only mode especially with gaming. Makes it run buttery smooth. Doesn't even need to run on performance mode to be able to get 60 fps on Monster Hunter Wilds at ultra settings, dlss quality, and ray tracing maxed out. Even better if you turn on framegen. Screen is beautiful to me but I am coming from a very old LED screen. Definitely not going to get much battery life out of this but does amazing IMO if plugged in.
