had to return the laptop to bestbuy as I felt that 14inch screen size is not enough. Everything else good.
4 star because of on-screen keyboard problems.

We bought this computer for my daughter to use in college. She loves it. The touch screen feature and speed are just what she needed. We also got it at a really good price with student discount. We had it shipped free and received in one day.

On the books, this read like a dream... at least for what I needed. 5th gen i5, 8gb ram, full hd resolution, compact, SSD? Sign me up! Few moments into using the computer I realize some strange happenings.
For one, the touchscreen was very buggy. It would spontaneously start registering touch input, opening and closing various programs, all happening without me even touching the computer. So I turned off the touch input, really don't use it.
Keyboard! Wow, this part was very frustrating. I was not a huge fan of the "Springyness" of the keyboard, but I'm adaptable, besides with specs like it had, I would've learned to live with it. But the straw that broke the cows back.... i think is the saying was that it was very unreliable and would stop responding to my input. I used it for school and took notes during lectures where the professors are going a 100 mph. Needless to say, I had to be typing rapidly and had no time to be reviewing what was being put on my screen. Much to my surprise when I look at the screen to review what I had written, 50% of what I typed was missing. I kept noticing this "spacing out" phenomenom of the keyboard. What good is a laptop that can't type?
In summary, I had to return this laptop. It was an open box. I don't know if this is something that could've affected the functionality of the device but I was not pleased with it.

Performance is very good overall and it is a great size but there are some major shortcomings
1. Battery life is horrible. Normal use will get me about 4-5 hours. Throw in a video and its all over.
2. HOT! Just writing this review is making the bottom hot.
3. Had to turn off sleep because it is unusable of 2-3 minutes after it wakes up.

Have had some issues with touchscreen and touchpad. Both needed calibrating and I am still adjusting touchpad settings to get it to work and feel the way I want it to. I was a bit dissapointed in this. Otherwise, the computer has been great!!

Laptop looks and feels great. Specs are awesome. Only problem is the orientation of the keys takes getting use to, and the battery life isn't as great as some other ultrabooks out there for the same price range.
Still, works great as my daily driver even if I have to charge it a bit more often than I would like. Would recommend.

It had been more than 5 years since a new computer and I was skeptical about losing the memory on hard drive but was surprised with this computer. It is lightweight, easy to use, boots quickly, fast transition from laptop to tablet, etc. Using One Drive solved all issues of a limited hard drive.

Lenovo Yoga 3

After reading a lot of reviews and articles for a new laptop for a college freshmen, we headed to our local Best Buy to purchase a Dell 15.6" (sorry, don't remember which model). After getting it in our hands and seeing how big (heavier than we thought) it was, we were directed to a few Lenovo models. Having been on an I.T. committee for a local elementary school which purchased approx 30 Lenovo laptops a few years earlier, I was familiar with the name and reputation. We ended up purchasing the Yoga 3 (not the Pro) due to:1) Reputation; 2) price including the $150 rebate that Best Buy was running so now $750; 3) Screen size - more manageable for toting around campus; 4) 2-1 style became more appealing after talking to others with a new laptop purchase.
We already knew what features we needed/wanted - a min of 6gb and at least an i5 so this fit the bill. Only time will tell (or my kid will tell), how well it holds up. So far so good but the true test starts this week for the new Freshman!

It takes some getting used to coming from a Sony Vaio 17" laptop. I love that it is lighter and more compact. I use Remote Desktop for work and the resolution is so small I can barely read my desktop and have to enlarge everything like I'm 95 years old. Haven't found a solution to that yet. Keyboard and touchpad stopped working temporarily (only had it 6-7 weeks) and it was stuck in Tablet mode for a couple days after not using the machine for several days. As I was making the Geek Squad appointment, it righted itself and has been fine. Had my techie boyfriend remove a lot of unnecessary programs and is working better now.

large and excellent screen, amazing looking, comfortable keyboard and touchpad! Really really fast running! 5s to start up! The battery is last for 9 hours! Worth the price! Only disadvantage is a little heavy and no pen. I am very satisfied!

We purchased this laptop for our son to take back to school. Within a few days the touchscreen was acting funny, showing "ghost touches" and opening applications on its own. The day before we took him back to school I spent the whole day on the phone w/ Geek Squad, waiting for Geek Squad to call us back or sending IMs while they took over the computer. We were told by 2 agents the issue was resolved (both agents stated different issues). However, the 3rd day my son was at school the computer starting doing the same thing. It has since shut down and will not start back up. We are having our son UPS the computer back to us and we will be taking it to the local Best Buy.

I was reluctant on purchasing a Lenovo, but after comparing it to a 128GB SSD (which was the same), the price was spot on with the student rebates, I just couldn't pass this up. Glad I made the right purchase.

I bought this computer for school, and I must say that it does everything I need and so much more. The solid state drive hard drive is far worth having. The graphics are amazing and this computer is definitely worth every penny.

This is my second Lenovo laptop in 2 yrs. good value for the money
The 14 inch is a fine travel size if you work with ms office
If you want just a reader the 12 inch model will be fine
Screen color and brightness are great, ssd hard drive makes this unit fast to start.
Overall quality is a 7. (1-10) Mac Air 13 inch - much better quality from build to keypad to touch pad
Issue with windows 10 and touch pad. Many other reviews say the same
Just search it
Touch pad locks up the entire computer, need to put to sleep and restart Ouch
Other than the touch pad pain 3-5 x per day, no issues. Touch pad is fine when it works

Lenovo Yoga 3 Tablet solid state a winner

Lenovo has a winner with the 14 inch size, the low profile and weight and solid state 256 GB. Using external USB 3.0 to a 2 TB drive for expanded storage. AT $850 during Florida's no sales tax week, the cost was competitive. The size reduction from a 2010 vintage HP 16 inch laptop was the most important to me as I enter graduate school at FSU in Tally.
