The laptop works well, however, since my purchase, I have sent it back to Lenovo to fix the motherboard and a few other things twice. Currently, it doesn't turn on for some reason after 6 months.

Since the device was working properly for four months, it sounds like there was an automatic Windows update that may be causing the issue. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right near the power button on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files.

This system should be a fast system with its Core I-5 processor and 8GB of RAM. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults.

This laptop is good, definitely gets my schoolwork done. It runs smoothly, and perform quite quick ...it is very thin and light. the specs says it runs 1080p resolution though it looks a bit off as it's not as sharp or smooth as one expects from that resolution, okay nonetheless. The speaker runs Dolby Digital and sounds really good. The wireless is good though my video does seem to buffer a bit which gets annoying, but that might just be my internet service. It handles gaming to a very light extent with mid to low settings depending on the game (don't expect hardcore gaming) it doesn't have a fan or vents and it will get pretty hot on the bottom if gaming for prolonged periods of time or running certain programs, other than that it only get kind of warm, the heating does concern me a bit, definitely invest in extended warranties no matter what just to be on the safer side. Aside from that it does only have one USB 3.0. I happen to be an avid gamer and although this isn't a gaming computer, it can play some casual games, but not without heating up, I'm personally considering exchanging it for a gaming laptop as there is a lower end Dell gaming computer for just a few bucks more. other than that, it's good for work or school and is more than sufficient enough for everyday use.

Great performance, VERY poorly designed keyboard

First I have to say I really liked this laptop. The performance was great and it was SUPER light and portable which I enjoyed. The screen was a bit small but I bought it anyway and probably would have dealt with that since the computer ran so smoothly.
The thing that ended up making me return it - as trivial as it sounds - is the size/position of the Shift key. It makes typing on this computer a really arduous task. You can't just start typing without thinking about it. You really have to stay focused on hitting the exact placement of the key since it is about a third of the size of a normal Shift key on almost every other laptop. If you're used to typing on a normal keyboard, you'll hit the Up arrow every time you try to hit shift, which will completely derail you whenever you want to make an uppercase letter. It's extremely annoying and ultimately not worth the frustration as there are plenty of other computers with the same hardware specs in this price range. I took about a week or 2 to try and "get used to it" but it just wasn't happening.
Unless you're going to be using this solely for streaming or anything that doesn't involve much typing, I'd say look elsewhere.

With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

OK straightforward three things, Portability, MS Office, Asphalt 8 airborne and Webroot Antivirus all running smooth!, this 2 in1 has a SSD which will help the yoga to perform way better than expected, now take in consideration that this 2 in 1 laptop is not design to perform for heavy duty applications, neither run heavy graphics!, this laptop is ideal for an everyday regular friendly non-demanding performance use!, as well as an office environment, ideal for students, not ideal for 3d graphics design, is ideal for family apps like Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, etc.
My final advise is, if you are looking for a portable MS Office capable gear and casual Internet surfing, this is your choice no doubt, but if you are planning to install steam, mine craft, skyrim, etc, look somewhere else.

I wanted a 2in1 for grab and go travel, as well as a couch computer, that was compact while still being affordable and the Yoga 710 fit the bill. Its small and one of the lightest 2in1s out there, which makes it easily fit into any kind of bag. I was suprised at the versatility the hinge modes affords over clam shells, tablets, and other 2in1 detachables. When in its tablet mode there is definite chunk compared to a true tablet, but it works decently enough with respect to weight and handling; my hand doesn't tire out as quickly unlike other bigger heavier 2in1s.
Keyboard feels tactile and keys springy rather than a mushy feel. touchscreen and touchpad were equally responsive and smooth and touchpad was sized well. Display looks good and works for what I need, 11.6 is big enough to get work done, although I dont think its quite as vibrant compared to other displays. speakers had clarity and can fill a small room, but they lacked depth and punch, although considering the size its to be expected.
As far as performance, by no means is it a number crunchier, but its not meant to be. As a daily task and internet consumption computer for things like word, excel, mail, web browsing, music, movies, etc. it works great. The system is responsive even with numerous windows and tabs open at once and jumping between each and it has been whisper quiet.
Some minor gripes, 128GB storage is kind of small and space can disappear quick if you start loading up programs and data, but it can be swapped out, so there's that. Wished they squeezed another USB port into the design, as one port available is kind of limiting without bringing in something like a USB hub.
Overall I'm quite pleased with the purchase and think its a great laptop. I'd given it 5 stars if not for the fact that I couldn't get the builtin wireless card to work on my wifi. I ended up swapping in a similarly featured intel card and its worked ever since.

I needed a sub 12" laptop that I can take on my trips. Compared to the discontinued Surface 3, this Lenovo is more "unassuming" (which is a good thing for me). And was surprised that it also packs a core i5 with 8gb of ram, which is performing the same than more expensive models out there.
It handles web development (full stack) pretty well. The only annoying thing I've found so far is the right shift key. I keep hitting the arrow up by mistake, which breaks my flow. I'll get use to it eventually.
As for gaming, I don't do much, but when asked, I always point them to the intel website. Here is the one for this laptop's processor+gpu: https://gameplay.intel.com/HardwareGames/95452/Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A2%20i5-7Y54%20Processor%20(4M%20Cache,%20up%20to%203.20%20GHz)

I'm not a techie.... but I did do some research and went with this computer after my Samsung junker crashed.... I bought this for Nursing school and needed something fast and light to carry back and forth from school to home. I'm 6 weeks in and I love this computer. It is light (less than 3 lbs) it has a touch screen (which is super convenient) and a fingerprint reader (good security). The battery life is really good (I've used it for almost 10 hours on one charge at school) and the keyboard is set up nicely. I have the 7th generation i5 processor and it accesses all my clinical hospitals nicely and fast!! There's a fan that kicks in that others mentioned when I read the reviews, but it's nothing major. At least it wasn't a deal breaker for me. I cannot say enough about how easy this computer is and so much nicer than my last one. I would highly recommend!!

Good Lap Top

I bought this lap top for one of my clients to use. He really enjoys using the touch screen. The only issue he has is 'fat finger syndrome' meaning his fingers are little too big for some of the websites. I adjusted the zoom on his screen, but that only helped a little. The processor is fast and things download very quickly. He also uses the lap top to watch netflix and other things online. He is very happy with his purchase!

I have only had this for a week, and I will update if I have problems with it down the road. The first day I had it, it seemed a bit squirrelly. I imagine part of that was due to the fact that it was downloading numerous updates because once it was finished it was running very well. It even runs games fairly well on lower settings. I had read reviews about the right shift key position and I see it could be a problem for some, but I myself always use the left shift key (something I didn't even realize until I started typing on it and wondered if I would find it awkward then noticed that I never even used it - just one of the typing habits I probably picked up because I have small hands.) I type about 70 wpm, and find that I can type quickly on this keyboard. The screen resolution doesn't seem as good as my main laptop, but it is adequate. I got this computer mainly for traveling and this is the perfect size. I will mostly be doing emails, photos, Facebook and some games. I wish it had more storage or at least an SD card slot to expand the memory, but I can work around it. It is also quick enough to keep me happy on the road. Quite satisfied with it!

Pros: Light-weight, Portable, good looking.
Cons: Only one USB port and micro-HDMI. Heating issues, no cooing fan, not great for multitasking, right hand shift key is almost useless, battery dying pretty fast after just 3 cycle, it depletes even when laptop is shut down and always gives confusing notification of remaining charge, bought it only a month ago. Having network connection issues and who knows what else will bother me soon!
My past experience with Lenovo Thinkpad with AMD processor was terrible, that was world's slowest laptop but I got fooled once again with this apparently nice looking one. The laptops with upper configurations are praised by many of my friend but this little one is not so good.
