    REAL Workhorse and tool

Similar to other posts, my main laptop (Dell Inspiron) was no longer working. Never will purchase a Dell ever again! I had a long list of projects that needed to be finished for college and only required enough computing for minimal (writing) tasks. I was considering on a 2-n-1 machine for sometime to replace my tablet, but now was an emergency. Lenovo (IBM) is now my standard for pc's. The Yoga 710-11 i purchased had 8 gbs of ram which was more than enough to handle multiple websites and the software applications i was using. The SSD actually made it run faster than my main laptop. Be cautious since many reviews on other sites mention charging issues, but most fail to notice Lenovo has special battery settings to preserve the batteries life and charges the battery 55%-60% (which can be turned off). Lenovo Yoga was not filled with bloatware. Lenovo (IBM) has been around for a long-time and this is my first Lenovo product. They have gained a lifetime customer.

    Compact powerhouse, random shift key

I purchased this laptop because I wanted a small form factor with a powerful processor. It comes with an i5 which is very responsive and runs silent, which, I really enjoy. The keyboard is extremely responsive and I have not had any issues running multiple programs in the background. The only downside for me with this laptop is the shift key, being right handed I use the right shift key almost exclusively compared to the left shift key. Not having it in the normal position makes the typing experience a bit awkward. I looked at the apps that can remap the keyboard and did not have much luck, plus I use ms excel and remapping my up arrow is not really a great fix for me. Overall this is a good laptop. I get many compliments on it and have only had it a few days.

    SLOWEST LAPTOP EVER

I got this computer after my MacBook Pro's hard drive crashed one too many times. I didn't want to deal with the instability of an Apple product yet again, but apparently I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I bought the Yoga. This is the slowest machine I've ever used, rivaling the dial-up Internet I grew up with. Apart from being slow, the Wifi is constantly disconnecting. I tried updating the Wifi driver and that did nothing. The computer itself freezes regularly, despite being less than six months old. Additionally, the touch pad drags my tabs without any human direction whatsoever. This computer has a mind of its own, not a very stable one at that. The Best Buy employee tried to dissuade me, telling me she herself had bought a PC after having a Mac. I should have listened to her and never have bought this contraption. Biggest waste of money ever.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Yoga 710-11. This system should be a fast system with its Core I-5 processor and 8GB of RAM. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. lenovo

    Doesn't Work

On 06/27/2016 I bought this computer online through Best Buy. Less than four months later... and it doesn't work. The computer shuts down whenever the power supply is unplugged. Lenovo tech support sent a new battery; however, that did not fix the problem. The battery can charge and hold a charge, but once you unplug the power supply it dies. Tech support also re-installed BIOS, but that didn't help either. Lenovo does not stand behind this product; they are refusing to either issue a refund or provide new product replacement. This is an expensive computer, and it did perform well when it was working... but I cannot recommend this product because it basically went from being a notebook to a desktop computer in less than four months, and I did not purchase a desktop computer.

I purchased this laptop for my academic program, and it is very perfect for the my job. The battery lasts for a long time that I don't have to worry about constantly connecting it to power source. It is definitely worth the money!

I liked this a lot at first - light and portable, decent price. But very shortly after my warrenty expired it completely stopped working. It wouldn't turn on. After taking it to geek squad it was revealed that the inside was fried. They tried to "cram too much technology" into this without a fan and it was just destroyed. Even though it was a fault of their bad hardware, Lenovo refused to extend my warrenty. So, I wouldn't recommend dealing with Lenovo either. Don't buy this if you want something that will last longer than a year.

I got this computer from Best Buy under two years ago and have been using it for school ever since. I love the computer itself, however, after a year the screen started popping off in the lower corners by the hinges. I brought it to get fixed, but was told I may as well buy a new computer because it would be the same price. Six months later and the screen cracked from one of the trouble corners. Now I cannot close it at all without causing further damage to the screen.

I bought this specifically to reduce weight in my bag for college. Yes, the keyboard is small, it's only an 11.6 inch laptop! It really fast, you can convert it to a tablet mode which I don't use much. This is a high quality computer with a small footprint. This is not a 200$ chrome book which can't even be updated without memory issues, this has a large storage capacity and plenty of RAM. i run word, spotify and many other programs simultaneously and its fast. If you're okay with a small keyboard and small screen, you wont be disappointed with this laptop.

    It's fine for basic tasks

I got this laptop thinking it would be more than adequate for web browisng, music, video streaming, etc. And it is. When I picked this little laptop up, I knew that I wasn't getting a gaming laptop but I knew that it should be able to handle Minecraft at default settings and Tomb Raider (2013) edition at low settings at, at least 30 frames per second. But to my surprise it's literally so bad that it can't even run minecraft without dropping to a whopping 19 FRAMES. I tried everything like changing the performance mode to maximum on the battery setting and I also lowered all of the graphical settings and this thing dies either way. Please Lenovo, update the graphics drivers so I can play Tomb Raider or Minecraft at low settings. There has to be something wrong with Lenovo's software optimization because this is ridiculous. I will raise the rating to 5 once these issues are solved cause it's such a shame that such a nicely designed laptop had to perform this way. The screen is quite nice and the speakers are nice and loud as well but as long as the performance is this bad, I don't recommend this laptop to anyone. Get the HP Pavilion, it saves more money and performs the way this laptop should for almost half of the price.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 710-11. With regard to the performance of this system, it has a 7th generation Core I-5 processor. This processor has, 2 cores, 4 threads with a processor Base Frequency speed of 2.50 GHz and a Max Turbo Frequency 3.10 GHz. It has 8GB of RAM and the latest integrated HD graphics processing from Intel, Intel HD Graphics 620. That said, obviously this system is not meeting your expectations for your computing needs. We always instruct computer shoppers that have a specific function they plan on using their new computer for, in your case, gaming, to start with the minimum/recommended requirements of the software they plan on using, including compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit version. We are sorry to hear that this Yoga 710-11 is not meeting your specific computing needs, but we believe we have built a configuration that targets a mid-range user, looking for great battery life in a small, light weight system very well. lenovo

    Don't buy. Worst laptop ever!

This is probably the last Lenovo product I will ever be buying. I purchased the laptop on December 2016 and four months down the road it stopped turning on. After returning back from a trip I brought the computer to geek squad and they shipped it to a service center where they said that they needed to change a hardware component. The whole process took about 15 days, and as a college student, not having a laptop with me was a pain. Then the laptop came back fully functional and worked near perfect for the next two weeks and then all of a sudden it froze and wouldn't turn on again. I brought it to the Geek Squad again and they said that it would take about another 2 weeks for the repair to be complete. I'm never buying a Lenovo again, my girlfriend wanted to buy a Lenovo 910 Yoga but I convinced her not to get that and she bought a Dell XPS 13 instead.

I bought a brand new Lenovo Yoga 710-14IKB. It was working good. Less than a year after purchase, the laptop will not take a charge. So the battery and MB were replaced by the manufacturer. And now the arrow keys are going bad, the down arrow key already came off. I had a Sony Vaio which costed me about the same and lasted me 10 years without any problem.

    BUYER BEWARE OF LENOVO REPAIR!!!

Let me share my experience in regards to the only Lenovo product I have ever purchased in my life, Yoga 720 11.6 inches 2-in-1 laptop. After a month (or so) of purchasing this laptop it stopped powering up. My wife barely uses this laptop in the evenings for very light tasks such as browsing the net and typing some emails. It just wouldn't turn on at all. Trying to reset it wouldn't help either. I contacted Lenovo technical support and they told me to send it in under warranty. They sent a box (which took 5 days), I sent it back (which took another 5 days) and they sent the repair unit back to me (you guessed it, another 5 days). Give or take, it was 2 weeks ordeal, that you don't want to go through if it's your only device that connects you to the internet (which luckily wasn't the case for us). Anyhow, what is the most frustrating part of this is the fact that repair center sent my month-old, brand-new-looking laptop in a condition that reminds you of a laptop that was used in the field by Marines. It is beyond my understanding, how a licensed repair technician can repair a laptop without taking any precaution to prevent cosmetic damages. It is like taking your car for an oil change, then getting it back with dents and scratches on it (albeit with fresh oil!). After seeing my laptop in this condition, I called back technical support, they escalated the issue to a case manager, who contacted me the very next day. Here is the response I got from them: "My name is Halbert, and I am working an escalated case, submitted on your behalf, case 03056638, regarding your Lenovo - serial number PF0NP7M4. After reviewing your case, I understand that you are experiencing issues with your machine after a recent repair and have requested a replacement unit. I am sorry to hear you are continuing to experience these issues, and for any inconvenience this has caused. Lenovo takes action on these types of cases based on the repair history associated with the machine. This is because the warranty attached to the machine is a services agreement, and is in place only for Lenovo to repair it if hardware issues arise during warranty coverage. I apologize, but at this time, your machine does not meet Lenovo's requirements to offer a replacement, and Lenovo will only be able to offer to repair your unit based on this warranty coverage. Should you wish to have Lenovo repair the machine, you may contact technical support to have a repair case opened at 1(877)453-6686 (option 4, then option 2), or you may take your machine to a third party authorize re-seller for repair, such as Best Buy." If this is NOT the way you want to be treated by a customer service, DO NOT BUY LENOVO!!! Thank you for taking the time to read my review. Hope someone learns from my experience and never buys a lenovo product again. Because if you do and it breaks, this is what you are dealing with.

    I need a larger screen

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I really wanted to enjoy the smaller size but I jusy couldn't. I knew from the minute I opened the box that it was going to be an issue. I set it up and tried it out for a not even 30 minutes. I knew right away that the size was just not going to work, it was portable but the screen was too small, the keyboard was too small and the placement of the space bar was too close to the touch pad. I ended up exchanging it for the 14" inch version so much happier with that size it's closer to the size that I'm used to working with. Also, mine had issues right out of the box with the cursor not wanting to move quickly I even went into the settings and adjust the speed of it and it still was lagging. The touchpad also seem to be having some issues as well, the replacement 14 inch version that I bought had none of these issues so I think I had a defective product.

    Horrendous Warranty Services

I bought this computer in late Jan. Rarely used it, then, in April, while on an international trip, it died on me. On 4/28/17 I placed a warranty repair order. It is 5/31/17 and I still do not have my computer back. Calling Lenovo is THE MOST DIFFICULT thing. Their automated system keeps throwing you around and nobody picks the phone up in less than 15 minutes. Their reps are also a waste of time, as they basically cannot do anything, besides reading off the screen that they are waiting for parts. They should have sent me a new unit, since this one is TRASH.
