It had above normal machine specs for the price range and I also needed something with a sturdy hinge. This new series ultra book met all my needs and was actually cheaper than the other laptops I was considering.

However, I'm very excited to start working on the new computer. I love that it has touch screen, but the Windows operating system will take time for me to get used to since I'm accustomed to Apple for 6 years. I think it will be a great computer once I give myself the chance to utilize it and learn the functions.

Good Light Weight Notebook

The only reason I am giving it 1 star less is that the maximum Screen Brightness is lower than one would expect from such a high spec qhd display. On the bright side it will save your eyes from strain while indoors! The Charger power block is light weight and easy to lug around but then so is the laptop itself. No more ugly bulges from your compact carry bag. On the performance front, there are no issues. Windows 10 runs smoothly even with multi tasking and an Anti virus running in the background. Software installations are quick and there is no unnecessary lag. The Keyboard can take a little time to get used to, and the power button placement on the side edge is an annoyance. Also switching the backlight on and off requires the use of Lenovo software with no dedicated hot key. Other than these minor quirks it is a product offering great value for money and gets the work done!

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 900-13. With regard to the screen brightness, be sure the auto brightness control is turned off and the brightness setting is to your liking. You can check this by right clicking on the desktop, select "Display Settings" then check to be sure that auto brightness is off and adjust screen brightness to your liking. With regard to the backlighting on the keyboard, the hot key on/off is hold down the "Fn" key and tap the spacebar at the same time to turn the backlighting for the keyboard on/off.

She loves it. the touch screen is great and has speed for streaming videos and movies. The office i installed on it first lets me know she is up to date to finish those work assignments for school and college. only thing she wished it had was a disk drive however loves the rest of features. easy to switch from bed watching shows to upright and typing papers. Both of us are happy!

Love the computer but screen cracked on 4th day.

Maybe factory defect but have to have it repaired via warranty. Thought store should have replaced it instead. Still usable but will have to have it repaired eventually.

I read the reviews and apparently this is was the best. It's great being able to type and do work and school tasks then flip it over and lounge and surf the web with the touch screen. The solid state hard drive is incredible and is the future. Won't be purchasing anything less from here on out. I weighed getting an apple and I'm glad I didn't.

You mentioned that the shift key size isn't an issue for you but, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

Though I am not a fan of the touch screen always being on regardless of how many times I have disabled it. Otherwise I am so extremely happy that I bought this laptop. Light weight and easy to use. Small and compact, just need to find a carrier case that fits it. Every case I’ve ordered is too spacious and causes a lot of shifting during transport.

Less than half the weight of my other laptop, less powerful but still versatile enough for presentations. Would have received 5 stars if it included HDMI converter cable.

I had a Macbook and IPad before and really liked them, but this laptop is both in one unit and cost less than the macbook by $600. i bought the laptop on bestbuy.com and saved an additional $360 by buying the open box that had been Geek Squad certified. What a deal!
