The Lenovo Yoga 900 is a great deal and powerful machine. Adrian and the rest of the team at the store were knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend it.

I bought this Lenovo Yoga 900 on April 12 2016. I needed a new laptop urgently and was looking for an SSL, compact and light option. I was told to look for a Dell or a Lenovo. Since the Dells in store where old gen and after a lot of research and back and forth on pros and cons, I decided based on the reviews online, help from the Best Buy Staff and some IT friends to go with the new gen Lenovo, the BestBuy guy said it was a solid investment, with fewer returns and most likely a 4 year investment.
That was not the case at all!
I didn't use it as soon as I bought it because I went on a two week vacation right after. Within those first 2 weeks two pins on the right side of the hinge fell off. I put them back on and was disappointed but still not disillusioned.
As soon as I started using the laptop for work the real problems started to rear up: the laptop could not/would not wake up after going to sleep. It became completely unresponsive and the only way to get it back on was to force a reboot. At first I thought surely it must be me, I must be missing the advanced way in which Lenovos wake up after being idle for just a few minutes (like when you go to the restroom or answer a quick call on your phone, 10 minutes or less) turns out Lenovo wasn't so advanced, in fact -and this did not come out in my research prior to purchase or I wouldn't have- Lenovo has been having compatibility issues with Windows software for about 4 years already. The forums show the same complain with earlier yoga models. The suggested solutions: re install Windows 10, Install Windows 8/8.1, make it so your laptop never goes to sleep and change power settings to never saving. There are also some bio/firmware updates to try. Not one method is guaranteed to fix the problem.
This is annoying and frustrating on its own considering this is an expensive, over $1,000, laptop, but there's more. The incompatibility issues don't stop there, 'though it feels like one of the worst/more ridiculous - having to constantly reboot a new laptop is offensive at this price point.
In addition to the issues with the software, there's also a number of issues when it comes to charging/charge displayed: the battery may show it's not charging but it actually is, or it may show a charge that it didn't have. After a Windows automatic update this became erratic.
Finally the charger broke down, the charger which I used only to charge the laptop and plugged/unplugged from the outlet to preserve it, stopped working. As in suddenly a 12% charge turned into 8% and the charger stopped being recognized, it doesn't work anymore and the laptop is now an expensive two month old paper weight. The charger stopped working on June 15th 2016 and the laptop was bought on April 12. I cannot stress enough how much better off you will be with any other laptop.

I bought this as an open-box without the charger included. Simple fix. I've run into some issues with screen flickering, audio not working, etc. but I figure that's what happens when you buy an open-box item.

Bad choice

This computer has multiple design flaws.
First, the battery is not removable and therefore not easily replaced. Batteries are one of the first things to die on a computer. So a replaceable battery is really important.
Second, the power button is on the side of the computer. This is just weird. When I want to move the computer on my desk, I always grab it from the sides to slide it around, and with the power button on the side, I accidentally turn it off.
Third, the speakers are on the bottom of the computer. So music is projected down into the desk... Not sure who's idea that was.
Also, I had issues with the touch screen spazzing out and over-responding. It got so bad that I had to get one of my friends to show me how to turn off the touch screen feature.
And finally, the computer died completely around 9 months after I bought it. I'm thankful for Lenovo's one-year warranty. They were unable to fix it, but refunded the cost. And so I will find a different computer to buy.

Not what I was expecting

Purchased this laptop thinking it would be good for basic gaming and other light studies. The speakers where the first to go within days of purchase, the internet kept going off even though it was set on wi-fi and wifi as providing a strong signal. Overall, nice looking but did not work as expected nor for the price paid. Returned. Best buy employees are the best, handled return. Good thing I purch on my own cc and not the best buy cc as it only offers 15 days return.

Two months in, we have spent numerous hours online with the geek squad. Taken the laptop back in, been insulted by best buy staff. Computer still doesn't work. It's July now and we still aren't able to use this thousand dollar paperweight. Computer doesn't work and customer service is laughable. This experience has been horrible. Still no resolution for a computer that hasn't worked from day one.

Received on Monday night. Loved its lightweight, outlook, keyboard... However internet is slow, Wifi kept dropping or limited connected. All other 3 laptops in same network were ok though. Bluetooth could not connect to Bose Mini link. Researched and Worked with tech support on phone for 1 hour and still had issue. Returned. Not sure it's my bad luck or usual issue for this model like other people on internet claimed

We purchased 2 Lenovo 900's and have had nothing but problems. One of them kept having a blank screen and multiple fixes later we found out it fried the SSD card. We replaced the card and it's doing it again. Just a blank screen. I barely have used it because it keeps breaking down. My daughter bought one too and has had hers in 4 times for various issues. Horrible computers. We've never had as many problems with computers as we've had with this model.

Out of the box it was slow, crashed, and now it will not turn on or charge. It left me helpless and embarrassed in front of a client. Additionally, cannnot connect to VGA or HDMI.
Took it to Best Buy and they said to contact the manufacturer. Lenovo is a very poor quality and overpriced product!!! Very disappointed with Lenovo and Best Buy.

Worst $1200 I've ever spent. Every time I use mine I wish I'd never bought it. Constant problems with both software and hardware. I got mine for gaming on the road and I would have been better off buying 3 Xbox ones than this piece of rubbish.
