    Incredible Laptop

This laptop is so nice. This is the first laptop I've owned that was manufactured later than 2010... Oh my. So sleek. So light. Here's some things I like: 1. The touch screen. Best. Thing. Ever. So handy and much more intuitive than a mouse - it is awesome to pinch the screen to zoom. I'm never going back to a non-2-in-1 again. Did you know that Microsoft Office tools have a draw function that lets you draw right in Word, PowerPoint, etc with you finger?? 2. The watchband hinge. It is convenient to bend the laptop however you want, and it's way more durable. I've had 2 laptops break in the past because of busted hinges - not gonna happen with this one. And it looks cool. 3. The battery. I went from a laptop that needed to be constantly plugged in to this one, which I can work on all day without needing to charge. I love it. 4. The fingerprint sign-in. Didn't realize how much I'd like it until I had it. I bought the yoga 900 too when I was laptop shopping; one of the things that made me prefer the 910 was the fingerprint sign-in, so I returned the 900. 5. The keyboard. Chiclet keys = spread out = type faster without accidentally striking the adjacent keys = less typos = faster and more accurate typing. 6. The speakers are nice and loud. Not like "wow!" but you'll never be straining to hear. 7. The fan is very quiet. Compare this to the Yoga 900, whose fan loudly ran from the moment I started using it - another reason why I returned it in favor of the 910. My old laptop was even worse! The bad: 1. Kind of a sub par port situation. The specs say there is both a USB 2.0 and 3.0, but I only see the 3.0.. No Ethernet port. The charger port is located right next to/is the same size as the USB type C port, so I keep accidentally plugging it in to the USB, and I won't notice until I see that my laptop isn't charging. 2. The touchpad. It's flimsy, I don't know how to really describe it. My boyfriend bought the Lenovo ThinkPad 13 and the grip is so much better. However, I liked this touchpad much more than the other floor models at Bestbuy. So, better than other brands, not better than other Lenovos. Overall impression: "well-designed."

The machine is wonderful, but the keyboard change to put the up arrow key where the right shift normally is and not offer a re-key option is a deal breaker. I would never have bought a machine with this keyboard. At least Lenovo could offer a re-key option. I thought I would get used to the new position, but I have a small hand....

With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP. lenovo

This laptop broke 16 days in. The screen started shaking, and it froze repeatedly. Luckily I had purchased it during the holiday season. I returned it, and bought a different brand. Also, the fan is annoying. It is louder than any other current computer I have played with.

This laptop is built well and performs well. I purchased the 1080p screen variant and I'm very happy with its bright, colorful, and clear display. I was also was impressed with the 4k variant, the colors seem to pop more on that display, but battery life was at the top of my list and the 1080p variant delivers on its 12Hr run time promise more often than not . On power saver mode & 40% brightness I average about fourteen hours of mixed use. The track pad on this laptop is hands down one of the best ones out there. My last experience with a Lenovo track pad was with a Y50-70 touch gaming laptop, which was horrible glitch fest. The keyboard is responsive and comfortable to use. The size of right shift key is a slight inconvenience, but a simple keyboard remapping program fixed that problem in minutes. I do hope Lenovo places a shift/arrow toggle option in their settings app in future updates. I have not experienced any noticable fan noise issue that others have experienced, but that could be because I'm always in power saving mode. For me there is more that enough USB ports for me. Although slow the always on USB 3.0 port can charge my galaxy s7 edge from 5% to full in about 2 1/2Hrs. HDMI out is a pretty standard on even the most frugal laptops unfortunately just like Apple they have moved this feature to the USB C port requiring you to purchase a USB C to HDMI adapter or USB C capable monitor/TV. All in all I feel that this ultrabook is a steal at $999.99 even without thunderbolt 3 support.

I bought this product less than a tyear ago from the store. Customer service was great and this computer came highly recommended. After much thought I decided to go with this more expensive model. Initially this was a 5 star purchase for me, but less than a year later, it has turned into the exact opposite. This laptop no longer works. The unit is charged and appears to have power, but I get nothing more than a black screen. Super disappointed. Spent way too much to only have this work for ten months. Do not recommend purchase of this unit.

I was enjoying the experience with this laptop until one day after 2 years of purchase, with very minimal/light usage, died. It won’t turn on, charge or do anything at all. Warranty was for only 1 year so I’m out of luck now.

Just got this laptop yesterday. I only used 2 programs besides an anti-virus program, and 2 hours later the laptop started to heat up and the fan started working every 10 min for about 10 seconds. I don't know if this is normal since this is my first laptop in the last 6 years, but I'm not impressed. I'm reasonably happy about the performance, the lack of the going back button and the two-finger-swipe-back function is inconvenient. No SD card reader or HDMI connection either. The shift button on the right side is really small, still need to get used to it. The finger print reader is extremely responsive. I love it.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 910-14. The Core I-7 processor will generate heat and this will make the fan work. The system should never feel hot to the touch. If it ever feels hot to the touch you should see your Best Buy Geek Squad ASAP. With regard to the issues you mention with your device, there may be driver updates for your specific system. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. Here is the link:

It comes down to 3 choices

The 3 best current choices of 2 in 1 convertible laptop computers are the HP Spectre, Lenovo Yoga 910, & Dell XPS 13 (new as of 1/17). I purchased the XPS from Dell originally. In the course of getting to know the machine, I spent about a week determining pros and cons. There were a number of pros, but 1 big con that led me to return the laptop to Dell. That is the fact that it uses an Intel 7th generation Y chip instead of the U chip used by HP & Lenovo. In other words, I was less than impressed with performance of the chip. The Y chip used to be called a mobile chip. So, I purchased the Lenovo Yoga 910 from Best Buy and have put it through the paces the last few days. The machine is far superior in performance than the XPS. The fit and finish of the product feels superior to the XPS. The screen is outstanding (UHD model). The fan has turned on briefly a few times but did not run while I was watching a video for an extended time. The noise certainly wasn't overly distracting when it did run. Battery life seems superior to the XPS. I should mention the XPS is totally silent as it has no fan and does not run hot. There were little annoying things that ocurred with the XPS during the time I owned it that kept me wondering if I made the wrong choice. This leaves the HP 2 in 1. No, I have no experience with the HP. According to user reviews, it is said to have loud fans and to run hot. Again, from reading only and comparing the specs, the HP & Lenovo specs seem to be comparable, with the exception that the Lenovo has an UHD screen available. So, for me the Lenovo is my choice. I'll never know if the HP would have been as good or better, but I do know the Dell is not for me. Lastly, I had one experience with Dell's technical support. and it was uninspiring. I could barely understand the tech and he tried to sell me additional software and extended warranties. This brought back memories from "back in the day" when I owned Dell computers that were poorly made, and sitting on hold for an hour or more to talk to their tech support, which was poor then.

I haven't purchased a laptop since 2007 and they've all been Lenovos since the Thinkpad line was bought from IBM. While my last ones were sturdy work horses, they've definitely come a long way in terms of styling. The all aluminum yoga 910, while aesthetically pleasing, doesn't provide for a non-slip surface when used as a tablet. Not a deal breaker - just something to keep in mind. The keyboard feels awful compared to the 900. This is definitely a personal preference due to having small hands. I purchased the 256gb model, not realizing that it also came with a FHD display vs a UHD display on the 512gb model. Seems fine when it's just being used as a laptop, however, I'd hoped to connect to an external display. Got an amazing deal on the laptop (open box) and having a hard time deciding if a 4k display and a larger hard drive is worth the extra money and potentially dealing with fan noise - it seems all the complaints about the fan are coming from people who bought the model with a 4k display.

I bought the 4k 16/512gb model and also bought the matching HP Spectre 13-w063nr that came out 10/31/16. The HP is more future proof and I sincerely wish Lenovo had thought about that especially at the hefty price tag of $1599!! The Yoga 910 doesn't have any higher capability than a usb 3.0 port. The pros are that it feels more solid than the HP as far as build and keyboard, and the screen is bigger. The cons, which for me are enough to consider other 2 in 1's are the lack of future proofing ports like thunderbolt 3. Very disappointed in that.
