AMAZING KEYBOARD, SCREEN, AND SPEAKERS

The short story:
If you're contemplating buying this over another windows machine or a MacBook Air, buy this.
Why?
Lenovo laptops in general have great keyboards, but in the era of low travel mushy keys; this one sticks out on the 9i Aura, it is very tactile and has amazing travel. It's also not loud or "clicky" sounding like apple laptops or other laptops with low travel keyboards.
Seriously, this is probably one of the best laptop keyboards I've typed on, and I've had many laptops. Lenovo's really bringing their expertise from ThinkPads into the consumer area and I'm totally here from it. Oh, I forgot to mention Lenovo's signature smile shaped keys are here too, so it makes it easy to press the right key when typing fast.
The trackpad is big, but it's nothing fancy. Not haptic either which is a bummer; but it does have a nice click, not cheap feeling at all.
The speakers and display are probably where the device shines the most; alongside the keyboard of course:
Unlike other OLED displays from HP and Dell, this one does not struggle in direct sunlight. Colors pop, contrast is great, and the pen is another great tool for students and creative types. It also has a high 144 HZ refresh rate with an optional dynamic mode where the display can adapt it's refresh rate to save on power when needed.
I did not notice a screen-door effect that other OLED displays from HP and Dell seem to have when white content is on the screen. Also, it's comfortable to look at with no PWM flickering (It's EyeSafe certified)
Speakers are DolbyAtmos tuned and support spatial audio. They are AMAZING. Lenovo also put in a soundbar beneath the screen that rotates with the display the full 360 degrees, so you have the great sound in all use modes. This is something only Lenovo does to my knowledge. The OmniBook Ultra Flip has bottom-firing speakers, so that 2-in-1 as a tablet, the speakers are blocked by the screen; that was ultimately what lead me to the 9i Aura
I knew the speakers were good, but I was still shocked when I first heard them out of the box.
No distortion even at the highest volume, bass is amazing but not overly dramatic and blown out like other laptops can be
Battery life is amazing, it also supports Lenovo's fast charging technology which is great for power users who need to charge up quickly. I'm getting about 12-14 hours. Intel's really doing a lot here for improved efficiency here, and it shows in these Aura branded laptops from Lenovo.
I'm a student and having a 2-in-1 has made it very easy to summarize notes. The pen is great: easy to hold, matching blue color, which by the way, is stunning on both the laptop and pen; The pen attaches magnetically to the lid with a strong hold, it stays attached even in my backpack, so no need to dig through your bag to find it.
Also, the device pairs with both iPhones and Android phones via either Intel Unison or Phone Link, the latter of which comes installed out of the box.
Since this is an Aura Edition branded laptop, If you use intel unison, you can transfer photos by tapping the side of your phone on the side of the screen, it's that easy. No more emailing files to yourself either, file transfer works in seconds too. Mind you, I'm and iPhone user and have has no issues with the integration.
The price is the main drawback:
Laptops have gotten expensive due to recent events, but in my opinion buying this SKU on sale is a great buy.
Even if you buy this at full MSRP, you're getting 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, absolutely amazing speakers, and great battery life too.
Thank you for choosing Lenovo and for sharing your feedback with us!
We are pleased to hear that seemingly every aspect of the Yoga 9i Aura Edition's performance and features satisfy you well.

Having owned a 2019 HP Spectre x360 2-in-1, I had a good idea of what I needed and what I wanted in its replacement. The 4k OLED display, speakers, backlit keyboard, and port selection on the HP were great, but the Intel Core i7-8565U and Nvidia MX150 combo were less than stellar, heat and fan noise were not great, and the 15.5” laptop was a bit heavy. Worse were the infamous weak hinges the HP engineers thought would be good enough; I had to resort to epoxy to hold everything together.
Fast forward to 2025 and I saw that HP is still using the same lame hinges on their OmniBook Ultra Flip (hard pass) and they don’t include a USB-A port (also a hard pass). Looking on, the Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition caught my eye and I saw that Best Buy had an open-box in excellent condition for $600 under retail. I was a little nervous that it would not really be in excellent condition, but my fears were unfounded. FedEx delivered a like-new laptop with all the original packaging and the OEM pen and charger.
Pros:
• The 2.8K OLED display is stunning! Very bright with great color and inky blacks.
• Speaker are reasonably loud and have good sound (at least compared to most ultra portables). Apple does a bit better, but I’m no fan of MacOS.
• 32GB RAM is more than enough for my current and likely future needs. This is good because modern Intel processors are system-on-a-chip designs that cannot be upgraded.
• Nice backlit keyboard with good feel.
• Lenovo understands that the USB-A port is not dead yet.
• The Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with ARC 140V graphics strikes a great balance between power and efficiency. Batery life is very good, fan noise is rarely noticeable, and mild heat is only an issue under heavy tasks. I also like that performance on battey seems to be comparable to when it’s plugged-in.
• Very light weight makes using it in the various 2-in-1 configurations a pleasure, and travelling with it is a breeze.
• I like the rounded edges that do not bite into my palms, and I find the thin blue case attractive.
Cons:
• A premium 2025 laptop should have a haptic touchpad. The Lenovo’s mechanical touchpad is marginal at best. This is just a cost cutting measure as the HP’s trackpad is haptic.
• No HDMI port. It’s annoying that I need a converter cable or dock to use it with my external monitors.
• Power button on the side of the case is way too easy to inadvertently press. I had to disable it in settings to keep from accidentally putting the computer to sleep.
• WiFi card is soldered onto the motherboard (not upgradable).
• LOTS of bloatware, and Lenovo tries very hard to sell you subscriptions packaged as free trials. Please stop including McAfee, it’s worse than the viruses it’s designed to fight.
• If fingerprints and screen reflections drive you crazy, you won’t like the satin case finish or the glossy OLED panel.
Conclusion:
Despite the cons, I very much recommend this laptop. Most of the cons are concessions to make a 2-in-1 as light and compact as possible. A note about pricing: I recommend only buying when deeply discounted as full MSRP is WAY too high for a laptop that has room for improvement, and sales seem to happen every couple of weeks. Buying an open-box worked out great for me, but your mileage my vary.

I love this computer...the screen, the refresh rate, the storage, the fast movement when doing work. The AI is everything. The screen response and the beauty of the dark background and the nits coming from the screen. You cant beat it. the keyboard is backlit and at night its awesome for working late. This computer can be for school, work, or gaming. It can do it all. Its so easy to type on your hands just glide over the keys. This computer will have you hooked. Then it turns into a tablet and its so convenient, easy to read. I have no complaints. This is a strong computer, nice sound with bass.

This Yoga 9i is an absolute pleasure to use — the 14″ 3K OLED screen is vibrant, sharp, and buttery-smooth with its 120 Hz refresh rate. The Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, paired with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, delivers superb performance for both work and creative tasks. Thanks to the 360° hinge and touchscreen, it’s incredibly versatile — perfect for sketching, writing, or just lounging in tablet mode. The battery life holds up impressively well for a high-performance 2-in-1, and its magnetic pen stays secure in transit. All in all, a premium, stylish, and powerful laptop that’s worth the investment.

I bought the Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition, and I couldn’t be happier. The 14” 3K 120Hz OLED touchscreen is incredibly vibrant and smooth, making everything from browsing to editing a visual treat. The Intel Core Ultra 7 and 32GB RAM combo handles multitasking flawlessly, and the 1TB storage is more than enough for all my work and media. I also love the premium build and sleek Cosmic Blue design. It’s lightweight and the 2-in-1 flexibility is perfect for both work and creativity on the go.
Highly recommend for students, professionals, and creators!

I am extremely picky about my computers. This one hits basically all the marks. Battery life on this new generation of Intel chips is excellent- 8 hours easy, often closer to 10. The screen is the perfect sweet spot between power efficiency and a good image (OLED, 3K, touchscreen, 16:10 ratio- it's like a Macbook screen but even better because of the OLED and the 120hz refresh rate makes everything look slick and smooth- and staying at 3k rather than 4k likely helps with battery life). Also, as a plus, it doesn't have any little dots or patterns like some OLED displays do when showing a white background like a Word document. Fans only rarely kick on unless you're doing something intense like gaming. Speakers have some kick for a little laptop. Hinge is sturdy, camera is actually quite good. Keyboard is very pleasantly springy and comfortable for someone who writes a LOT (as a law student!) And the price, when on discount, is really excellent compared to Dell or HP.
This one checks all the boxes, people, don't think twice!

I love this laptop. It's incredibly versatile, has a very premium look and feel, and runs very well. I can do a very wide range of tasks on it and the pen feels really nice to use. They keyboard is especially great and very comfortable to use and the screen quality is great. I wish the battery life was a bit better but it is still very long lasting and all in all, this is a great laptop.

This is my first Lenovo. Super impressed, and so very pleased with my purchase. I use my laptop for work -- internet browsing, email, MS Office apps, PDFs, etc. Everything is very responsive. It's so light, the processing power is great, the security measures are confidence-inspiring, and the screen is brilliant with fantastic resolution. Highly recommend if you're looking for a laptop.

So far I love this laptop. The display is beautiful, it's the perfect size, lightweight, plenty fast, charges quickly. Only gripe is occasional palm rejection issues on the trackpad while I try to rest my palm on the front edge of the laptop. The trackpad is just too close to the edge.

Oh Intel....

TLDR: It's a great laptop. The drawing experience is wonderful, the pen has been vastly improved. You'd think the chipset is the only major update, but they've made a lot of little tweaks that truly makes this one of the best machines you can buy at the moment.
The pros: It's beautiful. I love the blue. Blue isn't for everyone, but it beats the greys and blacks of other laptops.
Lenovo always makes great keyboards. For me it's more comfortable than any Dell XPS keyboards. The keyboard being shifted over for the extra 'special' keys are hit or miss. You never hear reviews of the F-row keys, but Lenovo does a good job on those as well. I've never needed a dedicated play/pause button, as the spacebar works just as well. Extra keys are redundant.
The screen is great. I like that we get the 32gb combination with the 120 hertz refresh rates. The 4k screen slowed down performance in the last iteration of this laptop.
The sound bar is second to few. I like that it's clear but also facing you. It's loud almost to a fault. It's good that it gets loud and punchy, but if I want it quieter at night when I'm browsing video clips, I want a space just between low volume and silent, so I don't wake anyone else up around me. There are so many other laptops where I want more, only to realize it's already up all the way. That is not the case with this laptop.
The large single hinge also gives me peace of mind, most other 2-in-1's have two smaller hinges on the side. They have issues, where people believe their laptops are named after those H.inge P.roblems. I like that in the display models of Lenovo 2-in-1s, you can gently shake it, and generally the monitor stays put better than most.
I like the 14in form factor. I miss the 12 and 13inch laptops, but it's not for everyone, 14 is the sweeter spot, I guess for most people. I don't understand why 2-in-1s come in 16in models. It becomes too big and heavy, especially in tablet mode.
Speaking of which, a true star of this tablet; the pen! Oh how it's been improved. If you want a casual drawing tablet, this may be it. The palm rejection has been pushed up. The smoothness is wonderful, especially compared to it's previous iterations. Drawing is now a joy on this laptop. It's better than the Surface Pro, which used to be the high standard for drawing laptop.
Speaking of the Surface Pro, here I go comparing it to other similar laptops: The Surface Pro could be better. Mainly I wish the 32gb versions were more readily available. I wanted to like it more, but it always seemed to fall short. I'd open that one last extra tab in Chrome and instantly regret it. I don't hate the form factor of the Surface Pro, but the Snapdragon Elite chip falls short in compatibility issues. With updates, it's gotten to 90% not an issue, but if you use anything on that 10%, it becomes frustrating. Also, battery life leaves so much to be desired. It's better, but not great. So in those regards, this is the better choice.
The next in line is the Asus PX13. This is why I struggle with Intel. The PX13 has a chip that is almost a year old, and it still beats Intel's newest chipsets in most benchmarks. Especially when it matters. It's probably not fair, since the PX13 uses AMD's HX370, which is meant to rival intel's i9, not the i7 in this laptop, but I wish benchmarks were closer, considering the age difference between the two chipsets. Ultimately, if you're using a laptop for heavier workloads, the px13 may be for you. With that being said, the palm rejection when drawing on ASUS laptops with a pen has always been a miss. It makes no sense since the series is called "ProArt". Also, at the end of the day, you have the 60hz refresh on the Asus and the 120hz on this Aura Edition laptop. It makes a difference when doing graphic work. Also, the wifi card in the Px13 kinda suck. For one reason or another, wifi7 cards don't like AMD laptops. I wanted to swap out it out to get a better bluetooth connection (the wifi and bluetoosh upgrade is one in the same) my choices seem limited.
Samsung makes for a great argument in their pro 360 lines when it comes to pen support. As far as Windows pens-in an all one package goes, no one beats the S-pen. Unfortunately, you have a heavily Samsung skinned version of windows, which is fine tuned, but heavier than most laptops in a similar configuration. Also they don't make anything with 32gb. On top of that, the 16in screen feels massive in tablet mode, but the screen is also too heavy for drawing in canvas mode.
Of course, then there is the HP Omnibook flip. What can I say? HP. You'll have those HPs. When I say HP, i mean Hinge Problems. I just have little confidence in HP laptops, especially in the long run. I've never played around floor models and felt confident about them in the long run. Granted sales floor models go through a bit more abuse than a laptop you'd take home with you, HP models always seem more 'abused' than it's competitors. Perhaps its just me. Also, the Yoga 9i comes with a pen. Neither the ProArt Px13 nor Omnibooks come with a pen included. Windows surface pens work with both, Lenovo and Dell use a different pen protocol.
All that being said, I wish Intel chips were better than they currently are. They are great for adaptability. You won't have the compatibility issues that Snapdragons have. I wish it put more pressure on AMD when it comes to performance, but when it comes to the 2-in-1 form factors I like, my options seem limited through Best Buy.
Here is the other issue; Intel is playing the confusing naming and numbering game that I don't like. This laptop is using the "V" model chip, which before used to be the "U" series. Previous versions of the Yoga 9i's used the "H" series of Intel chips. The "H" series was more performance forward, while the "U" series scarified performance for battery life. I personally prefer performance over battery life. There used to be a larger gap between plugging it in vs battery life when it came to performance, and Intel seems to have closed that gap somewhat. In order to make up for that battery life, Intel has also tweaked apps. Imagine a car telling you it gets great gas mileage, but you later find out it's not as good if you put in the seats. Intel played a similar trick. Some of these tweaks I don't mind, some of them I had to change in settings. I know things can only get better with driver updates, so I am hopeful on things to come. For now the whole re-naming/re-numbering scheme is something I am not a huge fan of.
All that being said, once I got this laptop to where I wanted it, it has been an absolute joy, especially once I removed McAfee. No one needs McAfee, no own wants McAfee. There's a chance I'm removing a full star for McAfee, with only part of the complaints coming from the aforementioned Intel things. Honestly, Windows security does well enough on its own. This laptop does exactly what I need with (almost) the right amount of power. I don't know why the keyboard is so much bigger than the screen, but that may be me nitpicking. It's nice and lightweight, and built like a tank. Not sure how laptops shopping will be the next few years, but if you hate MacOS like me, this will be a great laptop for most people.

Regarding your notes on the Intel processing, we have saved your comments to be shared with the appropriate teams, and we wish to clarify that there will still be a U-series line of Intel processors with the Intel Series 2 processor options. Very nice love the flip feature so it can be used like a pad. Sound is amazing and it is very fast. Would Definity recommend this to everyone. I had one small problem with the sound brought it back to the Geek Squad and the fix it very fast.
