I was having really bad luck with laptops had to return 2 different surface lineups due to defects and almost went with a MacBook due to all the issues I had. But I found this Lenovo and it’s fantastic so far top of the line specs for a great price. Normally I’m not a fan of Lenovo for personal reasons but they did a fantastic job on this laptop the quality is top notch.
Pros:
Lightweight
Great battery (used it all day and it handled everything like a champ)
Insanely fast (10th gen i7 is a huge stepup from 8th gen)
Build quality is minimal design but very sturdy
Super fast charging (0-100 in 1 hour 25 mins)
Has a built in camera blocker so you don’t have to worry about being watched if that worries you.
Finger print scanner is amazing! Hasn’t failed once
2 in 1
Pretty good display as well I love the 14 inch in such a small body
the speakers are absolutely insane Dolby atmos is now a standard I must have in my products incredibly loud and clear
Cons:
Everything is soldered on so you can’t upgrade later (but shouldn’t an issue with the 12gbs of ram 512 ssd and 10th i7)
Very minor but you can’t do the lift with a single finger like on a MacBook (once you’ve tried it you compare everything else to it)
My biggest gripe is there is a decent amount of bloatware but it just takes time to remove it.
For everything you get and for the price you can’t go wrong I didn’t know if I’d like this laptop but after using it for videos course work and just general use I absolutely recommend it

The build quality of this laptop is amazing. It is immediately apparent the moment your hands touch the aluminum exterior. It feels solid, yet light. It looks impressive but feels even more impressive. The aluminum itself is so smooth, my only concern would be the potential for scratching it. The silver looks great but the iron gray is even more appealing,
The keyboard is one of the better laptop keyboards I have used. It has good travel on keypress and does produce a satisfying, subtle, sound. The keys are a bit of an odd shape, at first glance but feel natural when typing. The backlight of the keys are great. My only complaint is it is not RGB, I knew this going in but certainly not a deal breaker.
The screen is great. Certainly not OLED or UHD level but for a FHD LED screen it is pretty impressive. Very bright and crisp with good contrast. It is a bit glossy but most laptop screens are anymore. The bezels are fairly small. Maybe a 1/4 of an inch? I'm terrible judge of measurements. Definitely very slim bezels.
Performance has been great as expected. No lag or sluggishness. I don't do really anything that CPU intensive but I do tend to bounce from one application to others. Visual studio then to postman and sql server management studio and chrome, with an unreasonable amount of tabs open, over and over again.

I purchased this laptop after thorough searching. I wanted to buy a 2 in 1 above average laptop and found HP specter, 13", with top of the line configuration, to be very attractive. I purchased HP specter and it started off very well. However, it broke down the second day while I was in the middle of my work. I couldn't get it powered on again and had to really struggle to recover my data from the dead device. I had no choice but to return it back to HP.
Then this Lenovo laptop came close to my requirements. I compromised on 4k display for garaged pen. Though it is not the best of the best, but it is very good laptop in terms of speed, battery life, fast charging, display, multi tasking and doesn't heat up much. I have not bought this laptop for playing games so I have not tested it for this aspect. Camera shutter, mic off and camera off switches are really good options. It is very light weight and easy to carry and work anywhere. I really like this device.

The startup is extremely fast. The fingerprint reads instantly and reliably. The battery lasts all day – I can’t say how long, really because it has never come close to running out, but it clearly has a verrry long battery life. It has all the processing speed I could ever want. I store all my data in the cloud; so after installing all my programs, MS Office, etc, the solid state hard drive still has 84% free space. The touch screen is fantastic, and I like the pen that comes with it. I needed a HDMI port, which this computer lacks. But a $25 USB-C adapter from Lenovo took care of that. (be careful – I tried another USB-C to HDMI adapter from Anker, which caused an instant blue screen on my new PC. Save yourself the trouble, if you need an HDMI just call Lenovo.) Overall, I could not be happier with the purchase of the Lenovo Yoga. I highly recommend it.

I got this laptop after first having the HP Spectre 360 2in1. The build quality of the Lenovo outshines the HP. Very well constructed. It also has higher RAM for more labor intensive work. The screen is beautiful and the FHD is better for battery life compared to the UHD version of this laptop. As for battery life, I’m getting about 13-14hrs, with settings set for optimal battery performance. The sound bar is absolutely amazing compared to the hp and most computers. As a 14inch, it may be a little bigger than want people are looking for but it still manages to be lightweight and ultra portable. I highly recommend this laptop for anyone that wants a well constructed machine, ultra portability, and amazing performance and battery life.

I love this laptop! I am in grad school now and needed an upgrade. I’ve been using it mainly for 4 hour video lectures and notes, plus Netflix and Hulu. It lasts about 6 hours after a full charge. It functions so quickly and the fingerprint ID is amazing. The webcam shutter is a really convenient perk, too. With online schooling, I am on video calls all the time and a sticky note doesn’t work anymore. When I am off the call I can easily cover it and I feel secure. Of course one of its biggest perks is the sound- it blew me away it is so good. I also enjoy how the hinge is structured- I feel more secure since it’s one giant hinge and not as worried about it breaking like other models with 2 hinges especially since it is a 2-in-1. Another thing I love is having a compartment for the stylus because it‘d be lost by now if not. Although the stylus can be a bit hard to pull out. Aesthetically it’s really nice and smooth, but it is a fingerprint magnet and the cover gets dirty easily. My only critique is the lack of screen protectors. I wanted a screen protector so it wouldn’t get scratched, but there is currently no tempered glass screen protectors specifically for it; however, I purchased a tempered glass screen protector for a 14” ASUS chrome book flip c434TA and it fit perfectly.
Originally I had been debating between a 14” Yoga c940 or an 13” HP spectre. I ultimately chose this laptop because I wanted the larger size. It’s the perfect size without being too small like the HP spectre or too big like the 15” Yoga c940.
However, I received 2 defective products. I am on my third laptop which has been perfect with absolutely no issues and I’m very happy I was persistent. The first laptop I bought was an Open Box Excellent Condition- Certified, but I had issues switching back from tablet mode to desktop mode. It would not exit tablet mode. Granted it was an open box, and that is a risk, but it was disappointing considering it was “certified.” Second laptop was brand new, but had issues with the top of the screen flickering 3-4 horizontal lines. It occurred while switching applications. If you are in a web browser, the lines appeared within the area where the tabs are. Returned that. I bought a brand new third laptop. Have had that for maybe 4 weeks now and again, I love it. It would be a 5 star laptop if I didn’t receive 2 defective products. Quality is also 4/5 for this reason

Ok so I will go over the things I don't like and things I like about this laptop. (I am a student so I use it for school, tv, and light games mostly)
I liked:
The speakers are good.
Screen is good in terms of brightness and clarity.
Keyboard is good but a lil shallow (I was used to a desktop keyboard with a lot more travel)
Fingerprint scanner is good but doesn't get it first try every time.
It's light and mobile.
The 2in1 feature I use for zoom meetings or watching TV on the couch and that's nice.
Stylist is great. Not super small considering it's housed in the computer.
I could play some games on this ( Minecraft, CSGO)
I didn't like:
I couldn't play some games (Destiny 2, Team Fortress two) I could play the later for a while but it will overheat eventually (I think) and crash
The bezzel on the bottom and top
I have gotten the blue screen error three or four times
Not a ton of ports and doesn't come with a dongle.
At first the egde of the laptop where I rest my wrist to type hurt because of it's sharp.
The screen size is pretty small to do split screen on it which I use often when working on school.
Overall I like it. I got it openbox for like $930. I wouldn't pay 1300 for it. But yeah go for it. If the blue screen thing keeps happening on mine I should return it.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the Lenovo Yoga C940-14. Regarding Windows 10 failures, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

This is a great light weight ultra portable. I use this mainly as a secondary laptop to take with me on the go. When at home, i plug this to an external GPU enclosure and it now turns into a pretty decent gaming laptop.
I generally get around 8-9 hrs of on use time with light web browsing with screen dimmed almost all the way down (2nd setting to the lowest)
The other thing i really like about this laptop is the sound bar that is integrated into it's hinge. It sounds pretty good. Around the same sound fidelity as low end Bluetooth speakers except a bit lower on the base. This is a huge improvement on most laptops i have used in the last 10 years and makes great for a media consumption device.
A bit of the down side now.
The screen color is a bit washed out in my opinion. I would have liked a bit more saturation and this really noticeable when gaming or watching very colorful media.
I would have liked one more USB-C thunderbolt 3 ports on the right hand side so i dont have to plug in everything on the left. However this is done on purpose because they hide a very usable stylus (that is charged while inside the laptop) on the right side.

Bought the Yoga instead of Surface Pro

I wanted to buy Microsoft Surface. There is something about the Surface Pro that is alluring. I am sure many of you know this feeling, which is why you are here reading the reviews.
I bought the Lenovo Yoga instead because dollar for dollar and feature for feature, the Yoga wins! Yes, the Surface can have i7 processor and more memory but when you configure it as such, it ends up costing hundreds more!
This has the right amount of memory. 8gb is good but not good enough. You need at least 12gb. SSD - 512gb minimum!!!! i7 processor? Not really needed but if you have it, then you can have more windows open with ease and if you render video, the i7 is better than the i5. Never settle for i3.
I love how slim, light and functional it is. I love how it can turn into a tablet easily and that it has a stylus built in.
Though it doesn't have HDMI, it does have two USB-C ports and with an adapter, you can connect to HDMI monitors. I tested this with an ultrawide and was extremely pleased.
The speed is phenomenal. There doesn't appear to be any bottlenecks. The previous years model was reduced to $450 cheaper than this one and I still chose this one due to better battery life, faster charging, built-in stylus holder.
The Surface doesn't come with a stylus - you have to buy one. That was another selling point of the Lenovo.
I have bought Lenovo pc's and laptops for years and have loved the brand. My work laptop is a Lenovo. High quality.
The fingerprint reader makes logging in more secure and faster.
Boot time is ultrafast! 3 seconds and I am ready to log-in! Sometimes even less.
Quality is hands-down one of the best.
I looked at Dell's at the time and there were features or ports that were lacking or they used their stupid looking power adapters. One month after buying the Lenovo, Dell decided to start using USB-C for their power adapters!
If you really want to get the best bang for the buck and have a long-lasting laptop with excellent battery life and lots of power, look at this model as well as Dell and Microsoft Surface Pro. These three you can't go wrong. If you are wanting Apple, and can wait, Apple is coming out with a laptop that has the same processor as the iPad that will run Mac OS as well as iPad apps. The laptops will be available end of 2020. You can run Windows on the Mac by using software called Parallels for Mac.
I don't regret my purchase and look forward to a long life with this laptop. I have taken it with me on vacation twice. Once, I was traveling in a Fiat 124 Spider two seater and not much trunk space! This laptop is so ultra slim, that it was easy to pack. I was able to use it to transfer my dash cam video to the local drive with an adapter (doesn't have a SD card slot).
This laptop packs a lot of power in a small, slim body. You won't regret getting it.

Day-to-day, I'm a MacBook Pro user. Whether you love Macs or hate them, their build quality is top-notch. So, when looking for a PC for my teenage kid, I wanted something fast, feature rich, but definitely robust. I got hands on with the machine at a retail store, to see if it felt solid.. and indeed, it did.
But, how has it held up in the past few weeks, with my kid toting it around in his backpack, going on a couple of weekend trips, and the computer just surviving teenage use? So far, so good. I also use the computer when the kids aren't, and it's very pleasant to use.
My fingers can fly on the keyboard. The display is gorgeous. The sound/speakers are fantastic. Even though it comes with an active pen (and a handy little storage sheath for it on the back), the display is as responsive and quick as an iPad just using your fingers.
I think the litmus test is thus: would I buy it again? Or better yet, would I buy myself one? Yes, I would.

This computer basically met my needs. It is a very good product, and its performance thus far has been excellent. I am pleased that it comes with the Intel Core i7 and 12G memory. Because I prefer using an external mouse, I had to purchase a wireless mouse. Since it has only one USB port, this meant I also needed to purchase an external hub so that I could use a flash drive and my wireless mouse at the same time. However, both accessories cost less than $100, and I got the added benefit of being able to charge my phone at the same time. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase of the Lenovo - Yoga C940.

After tons of research and shopping I chose the Lenovo Yoga 940. I had another yoga about 3 years back and loved it...but my daughter spilled a full glass of water on it and fried it.
This thing is fast and powerful. It was on the pricey side of my budget but I didn’t want something I’d have to replace in 2-3 years. I specifically wanted at least 12GB of RAM because there is always so much running in the background with Windows. 8GB will not be enough in the long term. Graphics are great! Sound is possibly the best I’ve ever heard from an ultraportable laptop. It’s light, as is the charger. Thus far battery life has been fantastic as I get 12+ hours out of one charge
The only small thing I would change is that the grey finish shows finger and hand prints more than other laptops. A small price to pay.

Once again, thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C940-14. You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. I got this one on sale for 1000. What a great design for a laptop. thin light quiet fan. It' really great for the look of a thin laptop.
a few cons. The port selection prioritizes looks over function. All of the short selection of ports are on the left side. The right side is only the power button. While this does look really great, I would prefer a bigger selection of ports. I do understand what Lenovo was trying to do with the laptop though.
pros. almost everything. the sound. the keyboard. trackpad. battery. screen. weight. 14 inch sized screen, in my opinion, is the perfect size for a laptop. Right now my main laptop is a 13.3 and I wish always it was a 14. good sized charger.
Lenovo designed a great laptop with this one

I spent a ton of time shopping for a new laptop. I was coming from a Huawei Matebook X Pro which was, up to that point, the best Windows laptop I'd owned (much better than XPS 13). My criteria for a new one were, in order:
2-in-1
Long battery life
Good screen
Webcam at top of screen
The big competitor I found to the C940 was the HP Spectre x360. The Dell XPS 2-in-1 also competes, but my XPS 13 had atrocious battery life so I'll never go down that road again. In the end, this looked as good as the HP at a much better price. And I'm pretty sure I was right.
Tablet mode is excellent for note taking and PDF annotating. Tent mode is great for streaming and recipes. Webcam is plenty good. The FHD screen is great, I don't miss the UHD display on my Huawei at all. The garaged stylus works well, although it is a bit thin for comfort so I did end up buying a Lenovo stylus thats a bit chunkier. I keep it at my desk and only use the built-in stylus when I'm away.
I've run a decent amount of heavier computational tasks with no issues (light geospatial data analysis). It isn't a workstation, but it'll get you by in a pinch without catching on fire. The new Intel integrated graphics seem to live up to the promise of being almost as good as low-end dedicated.
All in all, its been great and I wouldn't change my choice. My one real gripe is the 16:9 screen. The HP has a squarer screen which is better for pretty much all productivity-related tasks. But it definitely isn't a big issue, just makes it hard to do much in portrait tablet orientation. That said, even with a bigger budget I don't know that I'd change anything. QHD kills battery life and anything faster would need to be a 15 inch to stay cool. HP loses the garaged stylus, which is a big negative in my book. 16GB of RAM might be nice but I haven't noticed any hindrance with 12.

I bought this laptop for my daughter who is going to college this year. We were looking for something light so it wouldn't weigh a lot in her backpack, with long battery life so she wouldn't have to worry about constantly charging it, but still super powerful so she can easily make online projects, type essays, etc. This laptop not only can do all these things but it flourishes in all these categories. Even though she has yet to use this laptop on a college campus, this laptop has already powered through all the tasks we threw at it. Plus the fact that it is super light, blows my mind. Also the integrated pen in the back is perfect for someone that is clumsy or forgetful and will lose a normal stylus.

Once again, thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C940-14 for your daughter. You can keep this computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. One of Lenovo's best Yoga, 2 in 1 offerings. Battery life is simply astounding. Build quality is second to none. What sold us on this configuration is the up firing sound bar below the screen. Probably the best laptop sound system we've ever experienced. Lenovo is managed to get their bloatware under serious control. Their support/configuration app is streamlined and useful ... for once.
The display, the typing action, the track pad and sheer speed of this computer are all top shelf! Everyone respects Thinkpads and their long history of quality & functionality and this Yoga C940 easily matches that level of quality & execution.

This laptop has amazing build quality, great display, fast processor, and is really lightweight. The fans do get a bit loud even during windows updates, but is generally pretty quiet during media consumption like Netflix or YouTube.
There are two issues I've heard of on this laptop, a hinge creaking issue and a display issue where the Taskbar displays over and over again vertically on the screen. In the last month I haven't seen either of these issues on the laptop.
If you're looking at this laptop now, I would also recommend looking at the Acer Spin 5, that 3:2 ratio and 2k display for a lower cost is pretty nice.

My daughter had an older version of this laptop...with this new one, she has been incredibly impressed. She says the internet works much faster. She loves the enhanced graphics, backlit keyboard, and how smoothly it has operated with Microsoft office. She calls the battery life "amazing", saying she has gotten 10-12 hours out of every charge. She has had no issue with the 'disappearing mouse' that afflicted her last lenovo. The sound is good, and she likes that it can play 8D audios. For reference, my daughter is taking college courses requiring her to write many papers, create power points, and spend a great deal of time on zoom. She is a biology major, and has had no trouble syncing drawn diagrams, papers, collaborative works, all while having several tabs open for toggling. The only thing she hasn't used much, is the stylus, because she has an iPad she uses procreate and the apple pen, on. This isn't because it is a superior experience, it is just because that's what she was using before we got her this new laptop. When she finally gets around to using the stylus, I will be happy to add an update to this review. We spent many hours comparing laptops, before purchasing this one, and our finalists were the Microsoft surface 3, and MacBook Pro. Screen issues (at such a high price point) helped us to rule out the Microsoft, and compatibility issues with Microsoft software while using Apple, helped us rule out the MacBook. Over all, we have been VERY satisfied with what this computer is capable of doing, at this price point.
