This is a lightweight laptop, in weight and service. Pretty much what I expected for a low price computer, but really slow response. Miss my Sony.

Spend your money on another computer. It's filled with spam applications pre installed in the computer. I can't get online without getting an ad and that's with anti virus/internet security (etc). Save your money, time and effort. It's horrible. And one week in, I have a Trojan virus.

Crashed after only 3 weeks of light use. I owned a Lenovo previously and hoped this computer would work like my last one, but this was not the case. It had all the specs I was looking for ( 8g ram, 1TB hard drive) but it is slow and dysfunctional. Best Buy sent it off for "repairs" about 2 weeks ago. I hope it comes back at least operational, as their return policy is 2 weeks.

I purchased the laptop only because I saw the guarantee that it was "geek squad certified". When I received it, it was still logged in to the previous user's account. It had never been cleaned or reset to its original factory settings by the geek squad. So I won't trust the label that it has been checked before I purchase any other item claiming to be geek squad certified.

Drove 45 Minutes out of our way to get this laptop. The store said it was an openbox and it was a CERTIFIED open box so we had to pay even more. Paid the extra fee,got it home it was scratched to heck on the top, it was filthy and there was chocolate pressed into the mouse buttons. Thankfully the return was not difficult

    Decent computer for the price.

I purchased this computer when my year and a half old HP decided to stop working. It has pretty much the exact same specs as that one, and I was just looking for a cheap replacement. I use this computer for browsing, streaming music and shows, and playing games. It runs Warcraft and Diablo 3 fairly well on medium graphics, which is all I wanted. FPS is around 25-30, which might not be enough for some, but it worked fine for me. I could get about 20 fps on high graphic settings. I don't generally have my computer on battery only, so I can't really give a review on that, but everything else has been decent. Not amazingly fast or anything, but worth the price.

I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. This laptop fulfilled every requirement I had when researching. The only thing it did not have is a lighted keyboard. I can live with that especially since the price point is well under my $500 budget. I'm completely satisfied and would recommend this to anyone needing a good laptop on a budget.

    Amazing laptop for the budget

I got this to replace my old old samsung np305 (which has now developed power jack issues), and I'm very happy with this laptop so far, especially the price which was a wonderful surprise while shopping for my replacement. The lenovo is a little bulkier (width and length) and has quite a bit more margin around the 15.6in screen than the samsung (which is also a 15.6in laptop). So it feels noticeably bulkier but still should fit in most backpacks and travel alright. The speakers aren't quite as capable but will suffice for casual personal use in close proximity (you'll want amplified speakers if you're playing movies with it to a group). During the lengthy initial windows 10 upgrades it was noticeable that the hard drive is the biggest bottleneck for this computer. It is good enough for the basics though, and to be expected in this price range (sub $400), and the storage capacity of 1TB is actually quite generous, and useful, for backups. A $50 upgrade to a 500gb sshd (seagate hybrid adaptive caching drive) addresses this shortcoming, while the 1TB original drive sits in a desk drawer and serves as an external backup drive. Other than application loads and file intensive activity like windows 10 updates, the system is very responsive and fast. The GPU is good enough for casual gaming (I was very happy to see it played BF3 on medium settings). The keyboard and touchpad ergonomics are very good in my opinion. (No stray touchpad scrolling or mis-clicks accidents while typing.) The keyboard has a good layout and decent feel. The touchpad buttons are a little harder to press down than I'm used to. It also has nice features that I really value and that are sometimes omitted in newer laptops. A dvd for movies and file backups+transfer, and ethernet (the dvd bay can also be used for ssd or 2nd hard drive upgrades, via adapter kits). The only shortcoming I can think of is that it doesn't have a bios settings feature to extend battery durability (by charging to 80%-90% capacity) versus maximum charge; my samsung had this and it saved me from needing to get a replacement battery during the lifetime of the laptop. The batteries themselves are somewhat low capacity, so if the hours per battery charge are important to you, you'll want to make adjustments to the windows Power settings (specifically setting the max cpu frequency in the power conserving profile to something like 80%, down from the default 100%, and enabling high to moderate wifi power saving).

This is my third of these computers...not third due to any issue, but third in that I've purchased three for different members of my family! Everyone has been pleased! I suppose I could have written three separate reviews to show my satisfaction level! After the first went so well, it was my first choice with the next. By the third, there was no question! What a deal!!

    Not happy with this purchase

I like the laptop build, however, this brand new laptop has some major issues including the battery only lasting 2 hours max with only actively running Windows Media Player playing songs. Best Buy advertises minimum of 4 hours battery life and I have read online reviews promising 5 hours or more, however, 2 hours is just too little time for a portable device these days. The other issue I have seen which though has not occurred consistently but is of great concern just week into buying a new machine is that when the laptop wakes up from Sleep mode it automatically reboots itself. And it takes a decent amount of time for it to reboot! I would have expected much better performance from a new machine but it looks like there are some issues with both the hardware and Windows 10 that a customer should not be paying price for. I am going to reach out to BestBuy to see what they can do for this purchase.

I just got this laptop. runs great. it's fast. my only issue is the gradient/color banding. i'm so disappointed in this problem. i looked online and lenovo's genius solution is to tilt your screen. no. i tried calibrating my screen. just literally everything. i'm still searching for a solution as i don't want to take this laptop back which would be a huge hassle if i could just fix the problem. if anyone knows i'm happy to receive feedback or solutions.

There may be driver updates for the display and video graphics that can help with the issue you mention. You can follow the link below to Lenovo.com support-drivers and look for display/video graphics driver updates for your specific system. Be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes, then create a new restore point once the issue is fixed. lenovo

    Not happy

I purchased this laptop on President's day sale. Price was great, but now I know why. The physical machine itself is nice. The 8G of RAM is not enough. Slow to start up and slow to shut down and slow to function. When I click on a function it lags to kick in. I've never seen this on a brand-new laptop and I have had many in my life for various reasons. Windows 10 is glitchy. The start button is not working which is the backbone of the software. The voice feature took some time to fix as it also was not woriing. I have to take this brand-new computer in to get fixed because I have tried every YouTube remedy only to have them not work. Not happy.
