Bought drive for a new computer. Easy install. Realized that I didn't need the extra drive on that computer. Migrated easily.

This LG reader/burner is fast and quiet. It handles even the latest M Discs, which are very large capacity, but expensive. Although the third-party media software included with the drive performs all functions, it is an older version, The vendor inserts ads recommending an upgrade to their newer software versions, which can be annoying.

I purchased this for the ability to watch Blu-rays on my PC and laptop but mainly for use to make secondary backups (of my external HDD's) on disc for my audio, video and picture files; well, I finally got around to just that and it's worked perfectly. I used the Verbatim BD-R 25gb discs and copied an 18gb file in around an hour or so time. Looking forward to trying the M-Discs soon. So far it's done what I've needed it to!

Installation was straightforward and simple. Works on Vista or Win 8. Functions perfectly on Mac but there are no players for blu-ray. Did what I needed.

I got this to enhance the use of my Surface Pro. It works really well. I would recommend it.

USB 3.0 speed is great! Also lIke that it will write to Blu Ray or M-Disk for archiving.

I picked this up after reading the positive reviews on Best Buy.com and I'm glad I did. No software was needed to use on my iMac, running Mavericks...I just plugged it in (directly, not through USB hub) and off I went. Burned a Bluray disc with no issues. Its bigger than the Mac 'Super Drive' but it's far more functional.

Debated for 2 years about buying a blue ray DVD burner. Bought this one and have been quite happy. The burner works extremely well with the software, although I did have to buy a third party software to copy my blueray discs in my library. The price is good. And the " plug and play " makes it a no brainier to use.

Great Video quality and easy set up. And looks nice with my laptop.

Picked this up hoping to rip with MakeMKV. DVD copy speeds were around 4 MB/s. My 16x internal DVD drive easily could pull at 9 MB/s, often faster. So it's slow for movie rips, probably because of the "Silent Play" feature that limits the RPM of the drive to reduce noise and vibration. I tried LG's enhanced USB drivers and it didn't help. Then, I tried a MakeMKV rip after removing the USB driver. About half way through the drive caused a Windows blue-screen that required a hard shutdown. After trying 2 different external drives from my local Best Buy I got an internal Pioneer BDR-209D from a competing online retailer because no internal drives were sold at my local store.

I assume that the hardware of this burner is good but it's hard to tell because the software is terrible! The software only allows you to format your video files to types that are not the usual that most NL editors output. It adds an extra step to the burning process when it really doesn't have to. Because of this, I have yet to successfully burn a disc of my high definition video to end up with a bluray disc playable in a standard BD player. It may work better for nonprofessional end users but as a pro, I cannot recommend this unit.

Super easy to connect (HDMI only!), and great compatibility.

This product works very well. As soon as you take it out of the box you can begin to burn BluRays. It does take a while to burn, but that's probably just because of the quality.

Used this to transfer tapes to dvd. Was so easy to use.
