This is a replacement for a previous disk drive, that failed to burn DVD disks. Its easy to use and is a USB3.0 so its more compatable with with my new laptop. I am very happy with this system.

I purchased my new computer and didn't realize that this new computer didn't have a built in drive. I had to add this external drive, and so far I have been pleased with its performance.

A very reliable, fast and stylish burner. Lots of features and capabilities. Mine even came with a Nero-like software bundle, which I didn't use since I have the real Nero package. All-in-all, a definitely recommended product.

I don't own any Blu-ray discs at this time, but didn't see the sense in purchasing a drive that could not handle this media format, which is increasingly becoming the standard. I have not had any problems from it, which is rare for me, even with the internal components I swore by previously.

I got this one as a replacement for another brand that was very portable but quit being recognized by any of my computers. I haven't tried to burn any Bluray discs but I'm confident it will perform as expected.

I bought this external drive to watch and convert my Blu-Ray movies and it works like a charm. I have used this device for hours and hours and haven't had a single problem. Enjoy using this product very much.

I purchased one of these for my home use. Since I use a Mac, I was concerned with whether or not I would experience any compatibility problems. This unit plugged right in and I was burning right away. I've already burned 100's of discs (Bluray and DVD) on the one I use at home with no errors. It works so good, that when we needed one for work, I grabbed another.

works well but not with supplied software which is not much more than bloatware trying to get you to buy more software before you can even try the drive out

This a nice external drive for desk use. I bought it it to use with my laptop when traveling for business. It is large and heavy for a pr table drivve.

The speed is more than efficient when burning cd's The Newest HP Desk Top is so thin, it isn't made with a built in cd rom.. But, upon recommendation from the Best Buy Sales Rep, I purchased this and haven't regretted it

Recognized by both Win and Linux platforms, writes nicely. The USB3 does not hurt. Probably one of the best external optical drives around!

Very simple to connect and play for that portable finesse in all if us on the go, however important though to mention the minimum system requirements play a major key to unlocking this powerful devices full potential especially if material you are working is rendered in vast 3D formats. It's become my go to burner for all other software media discs quick results backups as well.

I'd been burning home movies to DVD using the AVCHD format, but my computer has a very hard time compressing the files. With this, I don't need as much compression, so my computer may take while to create a disc image, but it doesn't freeze hours into it, and once the file is created, the burner burns the disc quickly and reliably, so far.

I am not super tech savy and this device was easy to plug in my laptop and immediately use. Would recommend to anyone that wants an easy solution to no CD/DVD drive!

Plug and play and if you have a USB 3 connection you will get the full benefits of the read and write speeds especially when it comes to copying Blu-Ray.

A bit bulky but it's great for my laptop since there's no CD drive in it. Plays Blu-Ray, BD3D and runs very quiet.

This drive is a little bigger than most but I didn't buy it to travel with. It is in a nice rugged case and runs smoothly. I haven't used it a whole lot yet but I have no complaints or issues so far.

This item is awesome, the best ever. I love my new blue ray dvd player so far i had no problems.The movies comes out very clear.
