Super easy to setup and use. Since most laptops come without an optical drive now this is a great substitute for backing up movies.

The drive is quiet and Reads Blu-Rays Great. I have yet to try to Write to a Blu-Ray, the 25 GB and especially the 50 GB Disks are fairly expensive. So far, no complaints.

I work for a museum and we need to do a presentation from a Blu Ray DVD in the theatre. Our switcher for our projector is old and would not accept HDMI. Pretty much all Blu Ray players today only have HDMI out. No component video. I bought LG Blu Ray recorder to hook up to desk top computer and used the VGA out to the switcher. Worked like a charm! I would tell anyone who needs a player recorder for Blu Ray to go this way.

I would recommend this drive to someone looking for a premier external drive that can burn Blurays. The USB 3.0 helps with faster transfer speeds as well as the 14x BR-R and 16x DVD R write speed. If you need a Bluray writable drive, this is an excellent choice. If you don't need to burn Blurays, there are much cheaper options out there.

The setup was easy and looks easy to use would but again for watching DVDs and bluray.

This model is larger and a bit bulkier than some, but gets the job done.

Very easy set up and it works great! It sits on top of my computer and I like knowing that I have the freedom to plug it into another computer if necessary!

Fantastic product, and works with mac so long as you download the codec for it online. It's not provided by the manufacturer it's provided by a 3rd party.

This is used for business backup and personal backup. This is the second I've purchased as my first one died, but not before backing up well over 1500 blu-ray discs! I had ripped my entire cd collection with iTunes in ALAC format, and burned them all to blu ray for backup, as well as photos, videos, my purchased books and more. Have also used it to backup many documents, videos, pictures, and important work files. I'd say for the work I put the first one through, I was satisfied enough to buy another just like it! It burns quickly on my 2012 macbook pro. (about 20 minutes to burn 50GB's) It is lightweight, so I can move it from place to place easily.

Been using this to burn some large video files here at our studio and it had been working well. No errors yet and it seems plenty fast.

It does the job quicker then I thought it would. I would buy it again when the time comes. Hopefully not for a long time to come.

Firstly I have a Mac. I am using OS X Mavericks I know it doesn't include "Mac Compatible" on the packaging, but I hooked it up and it works right out of the box. It burns Blu-ray and reads and writes dvd±r with ease-and fast, too. The only problem I had was watching a store-bought Blu-ray movie disc. Macs don't play well with Blu-ray. However, after some fine-tuning with the software "vlc", it plays the main feature perfectly. So overall this LG works just fine. And it's quiet, too.

It worked fine. Was looking for a good one for mac. This worked for blu-rays and DVD's fine.
