This drive worked very fast and got the job done. It is compatible with new discs and many others. It was not compatible with some older cd-r's I tried. I had a couple of errors during a project. I turned the unit off and back on and it worked.

I bought this item to backup DVD's and BD's and combined with contained software and third party software. I found it very easy to use and definately worth its cost. It runs very quietly, it is fast, and it is great to be able to not only burn and backup, but to play BD movies on my computer (with included PowerDVD software). Beautiful picture! Great item!

I like this external unit. It's quick and writes well. A little bulky. I do have to say that it was a bit glitchy for me at first. I couldn't quite figure out why it would drop connection and I would have to pull the USB and plug it back in to get it to recognize again. After looking a bit more closely, I realized I had plugged it into a USB 2 port when I had intended to use USB 3. Once I switched it to 3.0, the connection issues went away. I'm pleased with this device. I'd give it more starts if it weren't advertised as USB 2.0 compatible. Given my obvious 2.0 issues, I suspect this should really be advertised for 3.0 ports only.

I have a Surface and it can't power an external drive. This one works perfect. I had a different one that I had ton return

Quite simply, this disc drive gets the job done – quickly. I can always count on this disc drive to read, convert, etc.

I have burned many DVDs and blue-rays with is, primarily to back up data. It's still going strong! You never know when your built-in burner might go out, so it's not a bad idea to have one of these laying around. Plus I don't know how common built-in blue-ray burners are these days with new computers.

Great unit does it all, just wish it was a little smaller.

Only complaint is it is big. However, I like it, it works.

People online say that this is compatible with mac but i plugged mine in and no go, so i had to return it... Bummer because this is supposed to be a great product...

Burns blu-ray /dvd discs great. LG drive is quiet and made good.

The best burner ever...fast and furious. It's the faster burner that I know. Very goof price !!!

Wasn't sure really what to buy but I know what I wanted. I wanted something that would do everything: write CDs or DVDs or blue rays. The customer service team help me select the right one.

I bought an all-in-one computer, had no cd insert. This item is perfect as an external drive.

Haven't used this yet but its exactly what my son wanted for christmas and was a great price.
