Going between the TV speakers and the soundbar, the only difference is that I have to up the volume to 50 versus my normal of 10.

The LG is a low end unit and a much more and more powerful than the 40 watt amplifier. It does amplify the smaller size of the TV speakers but there is very little noticeable difference in sound. There are better quality S=bar with sub woofers.

I GOT ONE FOR MYSELF A FEW MONTHS BACK. I BOUGHT THIS ONE FOR MY BROTHER. I REALLY LIKE THE LG BRAND OF PRODUCTS. I OWN ALMOST ALL LG NOW. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS AS A GREAT PURCHASE.
