When it comes to speakers you get what you pay for and I would suggest spending a little extra in this area. This sound bar still beats what my tv sounded like.

Sound was definitely better than tv speakers but not perfect. There was still some dialog where the voice was hard to undertstand over the music in the movie we watched. But it's a great deal for the price.

I was running the audio out of my tv which has limited options to adjust for lip sync problems, so the issue could very well be with my tv or my TiVo Mini.
