A Necessary Evil

Only a couple quibbles... The start button is on the wrong side of the panel compared to my last microwave and the one at work. The express cook button adds 30 seconds at a time but only until like 4:30 then it adds minutes. Should go up to 5:00 or start adding whole minutes at 4:00.

Works well, but......

The reason being the clock only stays on for 5 minutes and then it goes off. You can touch a button to turn it on for another 5 minutes. Seriously I wish I knew this because I would not have bought this model. How much power can that little green light use anyway!

Door Hinge Broke in 3 1/2 years

After 3 1/2 years, the door hinge broke -- checked out "microwave door sagging" DIY videos online, but those fixes did not help. I need buy a new one -- again! This is the 2nd microwave in the last 5 years! I bought Panasonic prior to this one and that lasted just 2 years and had two repairs in about a year, covered by the warranty ( each repair took about a week and had to drive 30 miles for drop /pickup). Sanyo bought in 1999 worked 13 years! ( it was still working, except for the paint peeling off ). Looks like these days microwave manufacturers intentionally making it last just 2 to 3 years! I'm buying $49 ones going forward and expect it to last just 1 - 2 years!
