Eats up too much space..overall average product...

I purchased this microwave back in November. The original one was defective and Best Buy sent me a replacement. First let me say that because this is a 1200 Watt microwave it cannot be run using a surge protector as it will keep shutting off. I did the correct thing and had a separate circuit installed to handle just the microwave because my house had too many things running on the same circuit and I couldn't run the microwave with the toaster, or any other appliance without making the circuit breaker in my basement shut off. So this was my Christmas present if you will to me...I bought this powerful microwave because I figured it would cook about anything faster than previous microwaves I've owned (and it does) and getting a new independent circuit installed in the kitchen which I had been wanting since we moved into our house 10 years ago. I have owned this microwave for about 6 months now and I have no complaints, It works just great! I love the different cycles it has and the automatic senser. It even has an automatic express defrost for a 1 lb. package of frozen hamburger. It's a little noisier at times when cooking but then this big boy has lots of power to cook with so it's nothing too unruly. The defective one made way too much noise. We could hear it rumbling through the wall it was so loud. This one is way quiter by comparison. This one seems to work perfectly in every way and I expect that it will last me for quite some time. We are not real hard on our appliances so they usually last a reasonable amount of time. I wanted to do a review of this microwave after owning it for a while as most reviews are done right after buying an item and you never have any real idea if it's really going to hold up with daily use long after the purchase. So many appliances these days seem to quit or go haywire after a short period of time. LG is a good brand name. I have owned other items made by them. I expect this will be another good one.

Right out of the box, the turntable hesitated during rotation. It stops, then starts or slows then speeds up. As I was past the 15-day Best Buy return period when I decided this was not normal and was actually getting worse, I contacted LG and they immediately gave me contact information for a repair service in my area. I contacted the repair service and they told me their LG contract was not renewed for countertop microwave ovens. I contacted LG again and they said they would call me back with alternative service options. Finally, they got back to me and said there were no repair options, so they would arrange to get me a new unit. LG contacted Best Buy and Best Buy attempted to contact me. When Best Buy and I could never connect, I called LG and they told me to take the unit to any Best Buy and they would swap it for a new one. I plan to do that this weekend, but getting to this point has taken almost two months and I resent having to repackage the unit and haul it to a Best Buy for exchange, when it should have been LG's responsibility to make all arrangements for the exchange. We are still using the oven, and it seems to work okay. Just a few other items to note: Overall quality seems questionable. The door has a cheap, hollow flimsy sound when closing. The unit is sold as stainless steel, but there's really just a few square inches of stainless covering only the front of the oven. The rest is painted metal. Also, the keypad is difficult to see, as it is black and the numbers are a muted gray or shaded gray color. There's not enough contrast to be able to easily read the keypad. The oven is painted dark inside and the light is not bright enough to illuminate the interior adequately. The round-shaped interior compartment does make cleaning easy and the turntable is very large. Even with the sluggish turntable operation, heating appears to be even and gets food hot fast.

This microwave is a great size, fits large plates without hitting the sides. Very easy to clean just like they advertise.

We purchased the LG LCRT2010 ST Microwave in a pinch because our 2-year-old non-sensor microwave died suddenly. The primary reason for our choosing this microwave is that we can turn the beeping off as well as eliminate the keypad entry sound. This is extremely helpful for not disturbing our elderly family member's sleeping patterns! We are getting used to the sensor technology feature and are appreciating it a lot! Food is evenly heated and comes out very warm to mildly hot and stays warm for the duration of the meal. Two negatives: The LED clock display automatically turns off after 5-minutes. Not a deal breaker for us but somewhat odd - LG should have the clock display turning off as an option. The second odd negative is that the display is not backlit — it’s totally dark. LG should also include this as an option. We found a workaround by purchasing an LED gooseneck light with a magnetic mounting base. It works perfectly for illuminating the keypad. Aside from those two quirky things, the ability to turn the beeping off and the keypad off is making us smile a lot! O yeah, using the TrueCookPlus feature with Pop-Secret popcorn rocks — usually less than 10 unpopped kernels per bag!

Overall, it does the job intended: it cooks well and is relatively quiet. Good features and functionality. The curved inner liner is very easy to clean. Pleasing aesthetics as well. Sadly, it was just a bit too large for our countertop so we returned it for a smaller model. I only wish LG's smaller 1.5 cubic foot microwave had the same overall look of this model instead of the cheap looking silver plastic.

Purchased this microwave to replace our kitchen microwave that now rests in peace after many years of service. :) We have an LG plasma tv and LG cell phones, so I was biased to the brand already because we LOVE LG. And this microwave is no exception. The curved corners inside are amazing...SO easy to clean. No pesky corners to get to. And the features are great...very easy to operate, and super-powerful. My test for a microwave is how well it can pop a bag of popcorn, and this one left only about 5 kernels left unpopped before I had to stop it to avoid burning the bag. Well worth the price if you are comparing between models. Also, it's very well-lit so you can keep an eye on your food. LOVE this. LG remains my favorite brand.

We bought this microwave a few months ago and use it often in our busy household of 6 - where game nights mean 14-22 people from time to time. My only wish was that the contrast on the controls was a little more friendly to the low light we keep. It's not bad in a well lit kitchen, and usable in low light -- but might be dim for those who are contrast sensitive. Interior is dark colored. Power is great, cleans easy, quiet.

This product is great! The space inside is huge, so make sure you have the counter space for it before you purchase. True Cook Plus is a great benefit! Made a banana bread in it the first day we got it, and it was delicious!

WOW! Did you see the size 2.0 Cubic Feet.Gigantic up to I would say 15 pound plus turkey or greater if you so inclined or full shank ham. LG is in the top 3 to 5 in all categories of any product it makes. LG replaced Sony in my home and the reason was Bang for the Buck and the value of use versus downtown time or repairs. So many options on the panel and easy to use out of the box. Very little that you need look up. Layout of panel is well thought out and it really has a powerful microwave behind it heating water in half the time and cooking in half the time. Great defroster. This is the #1 Microwave in this class and well worth especially when on sale to purchase. The last microwave still was working but if it had legs I would swore it was pig as it smelled like bacon in and out and it was time to send it microwave heaven. The Unit barely fit in its place. NO Brainer. LG!!!

I am amazed, frustrated, and angry. I bought an LCRT2010ST microwave last night. When I took it out of the box and plugged it in, I was dismayed because the control panel does not light up, nor is it back lit. I can't see the control panel unless I look at it no more than 12 inches away and use a flashlight. My home is filled with light from windows and lamps as well as ceiling lights and I nor my husband can see the control panel unless we get very close to it and use a flashlight. I just read the reviews on this microwave on your and LG's site and wish I had read them before I purchased it because it seems that others have complained of the same issue. I am sorely disappointed in LG. I have an LG refrigerator which I love, but this microwave is probably going back to the store. It's a shame, because of this flaw, none of the other exceptional features of this microwave can be appreciated."Life is "not" good for this product." Frankly, I don't understand how this product ever passed product review from LG.

JUST BOUGHT A NEW HOUSE. WE HAD EQUIPPED OR OLD HOUSE WITH ALL LG APPLIANCES. SINCE ALL HAS RELIABLE WE DECIDED TO EQUIP OUR NEW HOUSE WITH THEM AS WELL. BEAUTIFUL STAINLESS STEEL FOR THE PRICE. ALSO THE ADDITIONAL STAINLESS STEEL TRIM AND MOUNTING HARDWARE WORKED PERFECTLY FOR THE IN WALL/CABINET DESIGN. PUT IT IN MYSELF IN UNDER 20 MINUTES. VERY SIMPLE DIRECTIONS. THAT INCLUDED REMOVING THE OLD ONE. COULD NOT BELIEVE THE PRICE AND WHAT I PAID FOR THIS.

Pros: - Powerful! things heat up quickly - roomy interior - sensor heating, melt, soften and defrost features. Cons - lots of quirkiness in design: - It's BIG - make sure you measure the space where you put it so you know how much room it will take up. - the clock times out if the microwave hasn't been used in 5 minutes. No way to make it stay on. Apparently the designers don't rely on the microwave to see what time it is, like the rest of us. Obviously, there have been complaints to their customer service line, because they actually inserted a loose sheet telling you that standby mode can't be deactivated. DUMB design. - As others have said, the grey on black buttons can be VERY hard to read, especially in low light, and for those of the "bifocal age range". I've taken to keeping a flashlight next to the microwave. - The button descriptions are not the industry standard, with their own branded terms, so you NEED THE MANUAL to figure things out. Example - I thought I didn't have a "30 second" button, because they named it "EZ On" - wtf? You'll also want a cheat sheet to remember what to enter for "true cook plus" or "auto-cook" to select a food. I read the manual twice before I figured out there's a "beverage" setting buried in auto-cook. - No shortcuts for the minute buttons - I thought I saw something in the manual for a shortcut, but now I can't find it. Bottom line, I paid for it and the box is recycled, and I'll memorize features eventually. It is a good,strong oven with nice features, once you figure them out. Hopefully they'll hire some usability experts and fix their quirky design choices for future models.

Very easy to use. Cooks evenly and quickly. LG products are up-to-date on the latest features and looks. Got a reasonable price but was a bit disappointed to see it on sale two weeks later! Should have waited!

One of the most reliable Microwave I have used. I have used it everyday for past 7 years and it has worked flawless. I will recommend LG products for home essentials. Really value for money.

This is an amazing microwave that heats food up VERY fast and has many settings for different types of food heating requirements.

Geez, purchased this microwave without the knowledge that the clock does NOT stay on all the time, 5 minutes tops. Read instructions and it says to SAVE ENERGY it will black out after 5 minutes. HOW much energy is the GD clock drawing. OH, I wish I knew this before my husband went down there, dragged it upstairs, installed. Uggg! If it was easy I"d be returning it for just the reason of the clock alone.....

Purchased this LG microwave as I had replaced all my kitchen appliances with stainless LG ones. Believe it or not I had to 'match' everything. This is a great microwave - not small but a perfect size. Does everything we need it to do so far. Haven't had any problems with it so far. Just plugged it in and it was ready to use!
