Customers are saying

Customers commend the 2.1-Channel Hi-Res Audio Sound Bar for its exceptional sound quality, particularly the impressive bass. They also appreciate the straightforward setup process and the affordable price point. However, some users have expressed concerns about the volume level, which they feel is insufficient, as well as occasional issues with the subwoofer pairing and remote control compatibility.

    Not impressed

Easy to set up and pair with my LG TV but the sound quality is well below what I expected. When I turn it up to a comfortable listening level to hear dialogue and an action scene/special effects come into play, the sound effect volume is overwhelming. The subwoofer doesn't seem to scale well between low and high volume. This can be somewhat countered by turning the woofer volume down via the remote but there is no indicator telling you how high or low you have the woofer. There doesn't seem to be a good "set it and forget it" level. It seems to need constant adjustment depending on what you're watching. Also, I expected a bigger soundstage with the DTS Virtual:X certification. It seems capable of producing decent sound effects, maybe more so than a standard two channel soundbar. But the effects seem unnatural. It doesn't seem to amplify the right sounds at the right time if that makes sense... For example, I was watching a movie scene where a guy is reading a newspaper and every time he turned a page, the crinkle of the paper was super pronounced... but I could barely hear the dialogue. Then a car crash happened and BOOM the room shakes and I'm rushing to turn down the volume. Then the action scene ends and I can't hear dialogue anymore. Frustrating. For what it's worth, I also played music and the sound was incredibly flat. Returning the unit tomorrow. I had high hopes because I wanted to pair the LG bar with my LG TV so I could use the Optical Sync and control volume with my TV remote without using a HDMI port. Bummer.

I did a lot of research on this model sound bar and to be honest I'm glad I bought it on sale for $150 it's not the best sound or design but works great with my TCL with no compatibility issues. Overall it definitely keeps everyone at home settled and focused on to the movie which was my goal. I definitely recommend this product but I plan on upgrading later to a Dolby Atmos System!

    Ok sound bar

The SK5Y sound bar is ok. The setup and functions are easy to work with but has no display on the sound bar for the rear level and woofer level so you dont really know where the levels are at. Would like for the woofer to be a bit louder because at lower volume level all I hear is the highs and mids. You have to really turn up the volume to hear a nice bass from the woofer. Biggest problem I have that sync from sound to picture would slowly become off sync. When I connect via bluetooth, the picture to sound would have a delay if you watch tv for a while(1hr-1.5hr). It would be in sync from the start but then slowly you can see a delay in the sound to the picture. Have to power off and power back on the sound bar to correct it again. I got tired of doing that so I would have to use the optic fiber connection.

For the money this is a nice soundbar. I bought a cheaper model that I had to return because it didn't support the rear Bluetooth speakers.

I Love the bass output of this soundbar. It's got amasing sound for the price. I got it on sale to replace a bulky 5.1 surround sound system that was a few years old. and O.M.G. It's Awesome.

These speakers are better than what is built into the TV. it is not to big that it sticks out and the sound is good.

So this sound bar is meant to be used through Bluetooth or optical cable.. Which sounds good on paper but if you have an older tv that doesn’t have an optical port or Bluetooth, you’re out of luck.. we had to use a Bluetooth dongle from Best Buy which ended up dying and even then it’d have to be reconnected every time the tv or sound bar was turned on/off.. it sounded nice but the fact that there wasn’t ANY other option to plug it in to your tv is like highway robbery.. not many tvs even have Bluetooth connections in them..

Horrible Worse than my 140$ VIZO soundbar

After one afternoon of owning it I am returning it first thing in the morning. Supper flat audio and sucky bass for 360w. My 100W vizo bar pushes out way more and sounds way better. I love my LG TV hate the 190$ sound bar. LG get it together.

We hate to hear you are unhappy with your audio system. The Bass Blast setting will provide extra bass. WOOFER +/-: Adjusts the volume level of subwoofer. ^CP LG
