So the fridge itself is great and has been functioning since we bought it. We went with the open box version of this from Best Buy. It was said to be in excellent condition. When we got it, I noticed a dent towards the bottom of the fridge door. I wasn't happy about that because it was listed in excellent condition. What was more upsetting was when we opened the fridge, it had mold in it. You would think they would dry things out or double check before handing off to a customer. I unfortunately was not able to take a photo because our tenant's fridge was out and we needed it ready ASAP, so we just cleaned out the mold ourselves. I wouldnt rank that as excellent condition. Maybe fair. But for the mold, I'd say good condition. Note that the condition impacts the price. I have been meaning to notify Best Buy of this and at least get a price adjustment, but things have been hectic. Will try soon though. Otherwise, the fridge itself is a nice budget fridge and it fits perfectly in our tenant's kitchenette.

Bought this as a back up fridge 3 years ago and now it sounds like the compressor is dying. Fridge has been having issues for the last 3 months where the seals aren't working properly and the freezer door cracks open if you open up the bottom fridge. Had to constantly push both the top and bottom doors closed. Recently the motor has been on non stop and it's super loud. Thought maybe the door opened slightly but double checked and both were closed so I tried to get a warranty fix on it through LG's site but it says it out of warranty now even though they claim there is extended coverage for sealed system (Condenser) 5 years parts and labor as well as - Compressor (Linear/Inverter): 10 years Parts & 5 years Labor. Typed in my model number and it says the fridge is out of warranty so now I'm looking for a new fridge.

HI, Jason. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your concern about dealing with issues on your LG Refrigerator (LTCS20020S) model, especially with the compressor noise, freezer door problems, and the confusion around the warranty coverage. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products that exceed our customer's needs and expectations. In the meantime, you may visit this link about the door issue: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-refrigerator-how-to-troubleshoot-a-refrigerator-door-not-closing-properly--20153109606488.
It sounds like the issue with the seals and the compressor might be related to a malfunction in the sealed system. Since your fridge is still under extended coverage for the sealed system, the compressor and condenser should be covered for repair or replacement.
Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be more than happy to assist you in verifying the warranty details and explore possible solutions to get your fridge repaired. We are committed to ensuring you're taken care of and that we can resolve this for you. ^Juvy

I can’t comment on this appliance since I never actually received it. What I can comment on is getting ghosted multiple times by the delivery people and being without a major appliance for a month. I brought my complaints to the store manager and the best she could do was to reschedule the delivery for two weeks later. She said that she couldn’t be sure that I wouldn’t just be ghosted by the delivery people again. I was offered a $50 gift card as compensation which felt like a slap in the face. It nowhere near covered the time that I took off from work not to mention the inconvenience of being without a major appliance for a month. If you have any other options other than Best Buy, I recommend that because their customer service is horrible.

Disappointed

We have put up with this fridge for about 5 years. It freezes up around the fan in the back of the freezer all the time. We called service a dozen times, and now we just get out the hair dryer and thaw it out ourselves. When it freezes up, the fridge gets warm too and the food spoils. I have never been so disappointed in an appliance. The service techs say it is a poor design and that LG is hard to get parts for.
We are continuously working to improve the quality of our products and anticipate market demands that drive customer satisfaction. Have to replace after 2.5 years

I bought this fridge in late 2021 and for the last few months have had issues with high temperature. I noticed it when my fruits and veggies started going bad super fast and my freezer foods weren’t what I’d call “frozen.” After reading how to troubleshoot, I did a complete thaw of the unit and vacuumed out the compressor. Still having the same issue with temp. Seems pretty crazy that this thing doesn’t work so soon after purchasing it. I’d recommend looking elsewhere if you want a refrigerator that will last more than a couple of years.

A bad product with terrible support

Purchased in December 2020 from Lowes. Worked OK until April, then the freezer died and eventually an entire fridge, Then the interesting part started - LG was not able to repair the unit due to the special refrigerant it uses ( 100 miles from Chicago, not a Colorado wilderness). The repair provider ordered seven (!) parts including the compressor but did not finish the repair. After numerous calls to LG and Lowes, I received my money back in July (!). LG support is the most terrible service I have ever used, but Lowes associates were helpful and accurate. Do not buy without an extended store warranty and/or as a primary fridge.

My $1400 lg fridge lasted four years. The company is in a class action suit because of faulty compressors. The repair cost is more than what I paid for the unit.
