A few details about this refrigerator from my experience. Hope this helps the potential buyer. - I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews that mentioned the noise this LG model makes. It's a high-pitched, grinding metallic sound. It doesn't make the sound constantly, nor is it extremely loud, but it is unpleasant. - After a month the door gasket started squeaking every time the fridge repressurized when we shut the door. If you're having this problem, try rubbing a little mineral oil on it. - A new hose for the ice maker was connected but not flushed. The ice tasted strongly of plastic. When it didn't improve after several weeks we shut off the ice maker. It really needs to be connected to a separate filtration system if you live in city with hard water. - The stainless steel finish shows fingerprints easily so you'll be wiping it constantly if that bothers you. When it's clean it looks nice. - It has a strong door seal and it takes more force than expected to open. I would have paid more for a refrigerator that didn't have these issues had I known. This is our first LG appliance and we're a bit disappointed.

My husband bought a similar refrigerator from Best Buy 3 years ago (LDC22720ST). I guess he bought it because it was cheap. It has now broken down for the second time. None of the respected appliance repair places in my area will repair an LG refrigerator because they are so difficult to diagnose and repair. LG customer service is also not helpful. I found out there was a bulletin out on this fridge, and so the $300.00 worth of parts should be covered by an extended warranty. Although my serial number shows that I bought it in 2011, the representative said I need to email them my receipt to prove it was purchased after 2010. It will take 3-5 days for "upper management" to review my receipt!! During which time I will not have a refrigerator. I will never ever buy an LG product again!

Bought this appliance in Mar.2012. The appliance make excessive noise while operating or making ice. Needed door switch replaced after 2 1/2 years (costing $225,00), One year later the same $5 door switch had to be replaced(for another $225,00). The manufacture refused to stand behind both the product and repair. Will not buy another product from LG-ever !
