needed a new counter depth refrigerator, after much research i decided on the LG model. arrived at the store so that i could see, touch and feel the refrigerator. found that they did not have this specific model on site. my salesperson was kind enough and professional enough to find another store with a floor model, he also offered to show me a very similar model in brand, size and materials that was in store. so far the refrigerator is working as intended, it runs quiet, keeps appropriate temperatures. i love the ice machine, the french door configuration and the added climate control of the various draws. shelf reconfiguration was a snap and the large gallon sized selves in the door seem to make getting to the essentials easy.

We replaced a side by side refrigerator with this french 3 door refrigerator by LG and have had it about a month. All I can say is Wow! It's made a huge difference in how nice our kitchen looks, but more than that it's got lots of room. It's well lit so we don't have to move things around to find food. Plenty of storage, easily visible fruits and vegetables. Love the large storage drawer for platters. Ice maker on the door gives even more room in frig. Separeate ice and water outlets on die are so convenient..no switching buttons needed! Large shelf in door for milk is especially convenient for quick use. Freezer has two large bottom compartments for bigger items, a drawer for extra ice and items and another drawer for freezing platters or pizza. So happy with this purchase.

Beware - early models have defrost issue

We got this fridge as an open box item at a significant discount about 4 months ago. Had it been completely new it would have went back to BestBuy. We have to have a counter depth model as that is all that will fit in our kitchen. These are a whole lot more expensive than full size fridges, so when we saw this one we jumped on it. After about 3 months ice that had slowly been building up on the condenser coils started coming out the vents behind the Glide and Serve drawer. This is not an area that is easily visible, so fortunately we noticed it before the fridge completely stopped working. This issue is probably why the original purchaser returned it. This is a known issue with this model where the defrost cycle does not run long enough, and the fix is a new main computer control board. LG had a local service company replace it at no cost, but we still had to empty out the fridge and all the shelves and drawers so the repairman could remove the ice from the coils. Then we had to wait two weeks for the part to arrive, and the technician to return and replace it in the back of the fridge. It's too bad because otherwise we really love this fridge. It provides so much more space than our old side-by-side. The filtered water tastes great, and the ice-maker, though small, provides sufficient ice for our every day needs. If you are looking to buy this model (choices for french-door counter depth models are very limited), I would suggest first calling LG and giving them the serial number of the unit to see if it has an older computer board that has the defrost issue.

Love the interior lighting. Has a soft alarm that goes off when the frig door is open for more than 30 seconds. Really like that. The in-door ice maker in upper frig is a great idea giving lots extra room. My only complaint is it smudges easily and there could be a better light in the freezer compartment. Otherwise we love it!

For a counter depth fridge, we can fit a lot in. Ice maker works great and we really like the ability to access the bin for filling up ice buckets. Hopefully it will last longer than out last fridge which died after only nine years.

I bought this refrigerator to replace a 3 year old similar unit that had been ruined in a flood. The LG was a few hundreds dollars less than the one it replaced, but I love it twice as much. Great use of space for the counter-depth because the ice/water components are inside the door, leaving more shelf space. The inside drawers and lights seem more high-tech and modern, and the ice cubes are a better size. Very quiet operation, also.

Replaced my piece of garbage GE 42 in wide 'built-in' with this LG unit despite it not filling the old fridge's space completely. Install was easy - I already had a new water line so I only needed them to deliver and position it in front of the intended space. Unit rolled easily into the space. So far - no issues with the unit. Ice making is sufficient and I like that the ice maker/ice storage is in the door and not in the shelf space. As a counter depth unit - shelf space is at a premium. Really like the middle tray in the freezer drawer - most units only have one pull out tray above the main freezer area. I put frozen goodies (ice cream sandwiches, etc.) as it rolls open when you pull the freezer drawer out. French doors work very well. Fingerprints are easily removed with the wipe of a damp microfiber cloth. Eventually I'll stop wiping it daily. Deep door shelves on the right door is great to have. I forgot there was a narrow bottom shelf 'hidden' under the lower deep door shelf. Opened a new jar of jelly, when I forgot that I already had an open jar on that shelf. Downsides... the produce drawers - three of them - really should just be two wide drawers, instead of two mid-size drawers sandwiching a small drawer. The lower drawer can be set for meat, deli and produce. Works perfect as I have quite a few deli items. Only 'complaint' is that only the front 'legs' are adjustable in height. Would be nice to be able to raise the height of the back to improve the leveling and stability when the doors close. Have to decide if I want to slide the fridge onto thin plywood into the back as it is obviously 'not close to level' when viewed from the side.

Note: we installed 3 weeks ago. So far, so good. Highlights: Quiet Exceptional capacity for counter-depth (nearly standard capacity) Fantastic lighting throughout. Every fridge looks well lit when empty. The real test is once it's packed full. You'll notice the advantage of multiple sources of lighting compared to a single overhead light. Smart use of interior space on the "ice machine door" for shallower condiment bottles Convenient access to freezer items using 2 drawers in addition to spacious bottom bins Water and ice have neutral taste - good filtration Additional note: non-magnetic doors (neither good nor bad - just take note). We'll find some suction cup clips for our fridge art.

Fantastic 24 CF Counter Depth French Door Refrig

This is a fine and dandy piece of work. Counter depth works the best in my island kitchen to make wider aisle space between the island stove top and the refrigerator. Would not spend the extra money for the counter depth unless it was necessary, and in this case it was. As far as working - it does a very good job. Food stays fresher longer, the interior is so bright with all those LED lights. Nice to have three shelf/bin layers in the freezer. I have no problem with the size of the refrigerator compartment - but the frozen food part is always full, whereas the top refrigerator area has lots of extra room. It runs very quiet, and has features I did not know about until later - like it being extra energy efficient, very quiet, and having a maintenance app that if the refrigerator has a problem I call LG & place my smart phone next to the top right hinge to have LG diagnose the problem. This refrigerator is so much better then my previous French door by another maker. LG designed the doors to shut easy, my other you had to push hard to make sure they were shut. The freezer handle has a latch, so you actually lift up on the handle to then pull the bin out. 5 stars easy.

I love this refrigerator. It is very quiet. I can barely ever hear it running. It produces ice at an impressive rate. It is elegant and beautiful and goes well in my kitchen. I'm glad I went with the counter depth because the refrigerator still is spacious but it doesn't look bulky on the outside. Definitely a worthwhile buy!

Refrigerator was running fine and we liked it as long as it was functioning properly. But after 5 months, ice and frost started building up in fridge section. LG tech updated firmware on electronic ckt board. A month later fans behind freezer section very noisy. LG tech came again and removed ice and said it should be fine now. A day later, we hear loud drilling noise once a hour. Not sure, what's wrong now. LG call center overseas is horrible. Every time they take 30 mins to understand what's going on and insist on having copy of receipt to ensure fridge was bought within last 12 months even though they admit this new model was only launched six months ago! At this point, we are frustrated being beta testing site for LG's new model. Can't be sitting home for 4 hour window for LG technician. Better to wait another year once this model is fully debugged. In general we like LG french door models, but not this particular one and their overseas call center team needs some serious improvement. We heard that several other customers are having similar (frost in fridge section) problem.

LG appliances are absolute junk. I purchased this refrigerator and have had nothing but problems with it. I've lost my entire freezer worth of food now 4 times. The freezer just decides to stop working. I've contacted LG probably 20 different times and they offer no assistance. I WILL NEVER BUY an LG Product again. Seriously reconsider purchasing. Absolute disappointment!

I love that this refrigerator is counter-depth and doesn't stick way out into the space between my counters and my island. But, it still has tons of storage space! So handy having the freezer drawer below and all the refrigerator items at eye level. Works great, looks great and is everything I hoped it would be.

The reason I like this LG refrigerator is for one thing it feels sturdier than one I have that is made by Samsung. And the ice maker is built into the door which takes up less refrigerator space. And also holds more ice than my Samsung. Both of the refrigerator's are counter depth which is a great feature in my opinion.

The LG counter depth refrigerator is great. It smaller than my old refrigerator which I already know but the storage is enough that I don’t over buy anymore. ☺️ The coldness of the fridge is perfect and freezer working great. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 stars because it’s very heavy on the water filler side where the ice are dispensing. The door would close by slamming unless you hold it and gently close it. But I’m loving this refrigerator.

After purchasing a Whirlpool counter-depth French Door refrigerator three weeks ago, the freezer and icemaker didn't work at all, so I exchanged it for this LG. I had to wait a couple of weeks to get the LG but it was well worth the wait. Sorry I didn't want to wait for the LG when I settled and purchased the Whirlpool originally. I am so grateful the Whirlpool failed because this LG is lovely! Such a great layout internally and much more room in the freezer than the Whirlpool. I could not be happier with my purchase and now all the appliances in my home are LG and not one issue with any of them ever. I highly recommend this LG model. Extremely quiet and efficient, too. Oh, and great lighting in the refrigerator and freezer. Thought the large display panel on the water/ice feature on the outside of the door would bother me but it is not even noticeable now that the refrigerator is in my home.
