we have this for about a month. so far it is very quite compared to our old dishwasher. it still has a smell of a new appliance each time I run it. just waiting for that to go away. otherwise I am pretty happy since I have a full load just about everyday

The dishwasher is very quiet. It is, however, difficult to load and dishes don’t stay positioned well. Also, the normal wash cycle takes close to two hours to complete.

We got this LG dishwasher to replace our 7 year old Whirlpool piece of junk. The old dishwasher was rusting inside, had to be run on max/pot scrubber setting to get anything clean and was so loud it could be heard throughout the house when it ran. We purchased this new LG dishwasher a little over a month ago on Texas' tax-free weekend and couldn't be happier. The Best Buy plumbers did a great job with the installation. The dishwasher runs so quietly that it has to sing a little song to tell you that it's done. It's an incredible difference. Thanks to the larger tub size (compared to our old unit) we're running out of dishes between times we run the dishwasher. And yet it still cleans all the dishes. Occasionally the kids will sneak in a bowl half-filled with oatmeal and it'll struggle to get everything out, but otherwise we have no complaints. The old dishwasher had a traditional heating element to dry the dishes but I swear this LG gets the dishes hotter with its water rinse. Okay, I think I've rambled on enough. Bottom line: great, quiet dishwasher for the price.

Was not looking to buy something this expensive until reading reviews about this one. Laci at Best Buy talked about all the features of this model and I was sold. This model does not have a heated dry for the dishes but that is not an issue because they come out as dry as if it did. The interior has a lot of space to load. This LG is so quiet you don't even know its on. The only downside and it is minor, is that the quickest cycle is almost 90 minutes which isn't very quick. Other than that, I would buy this again without hesitation. I've been leaning towards LG products anyway since I picked up one of their Smart TV's last year and was extremely happy, so....here we are with the dishwasher.

This machine has a lot of flexibility in the racks, and can be adjusted quickly and easily for each load. This versatility is fantastic. The noise level is so much better than our 15 year old machine it is ridiculous. There are a lot of machines with a lot of settings. This one also has a lot of settings, but the ease of setting it to wash the way you want is fantastic...easy and fast. The only drawback is if you do extra rinse and extra dry it takes about 3.5 hours...but really that is a minor inconvenience considering how awesome this machine is.

I think this is a great dishwasher. It thoroughly cleans way more dishes than I think is possible. My wife always "overfills" it, but it cleans them all every time. What's really shocking to me is how quiet it is. You just hear a little water gurgling.

After going through dishwashers too quickly we spent a lot more than usual on this one hoping it will last. It seems sturdy, the door barely flexes like a lot of others, and the install showed some smarter design allowing for large capacity. It is super quiet and cleans well. Not all holes fit all silverware though.

Super quiet. Great looking. The racks inside are amazing and it so spacious. In my old dishwasher I couldn't fit large items like pots or jelly roll pans and my dishes that I had to wash by hand would pile up :(. Not with this machine, it is roomy and the racks are adjustable. Everything makes sense inside, very simple configuration of the tines (??) of the racks. I just love it. It doesn't dry like other dishwashers, so I usually use the extra dry setting. I was leery about buying this machine because it doesn't have a heat element and that part was confusing when I was comparing models but I assure you it does dry your dishes its just a different technology. You will love it!

We've had this dishwasher about 3 weeks. Does a great job cleaning the dishes and is very quiet. We didn't use the Finish Jet Dry rinse agent the first time, and things came out fine. But the second time we DID use the Finish rinse agent, and the dishes and glassware came out amazingly sparkling clean. We don't mind that the wash cycle is 2 hrs or more. It "sings" when done.

Inverter Motor warranty has a catch

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When you spend this much money for a dishwasher you expect it to do the job. Let's start with the fact that it has no Rinse only option and you can't select not to have a dry cycle. It is also louder than it should be. I believe the insulation could use an upgrade, not only for the noise but to keep the heat in. I chose a unit with a stainless steel tub to help keep the heat in, but this unit heats my counter top. I utilized some insulation from my previous machine to help with both the noise and heat, which is starting to damage my 6 month old $3K counter top (Quartz with a wood base). Finally after barely 2 years a new very loud noise starts and the unit starts to leak at the motor shaft. I called LG because they warranty the 'Inverter Direct Drive motor' (just a fancy term for a DC motor that does not use a belt or gear) for 10 years (parts not labor...here's the catch) the outsourced support person informs me that a technician has to troubleshoot the issue then order the part under warranty and maybe I can 'work out a deal' with them about installation to save money on the labor. Sorry that is not how they make money and after a couple of calls I get a quote for $96 for the house call and $155 to install the motor. The MOTOR ONLY COSTS $143 plus shipping from several online suppliers. So I ordered the part to save myself $100 and LG gets no sweat off their brow, except the couple of calls I made to them expressing my disappointment in their concern for me as a consumer. Even after I let them listen to the noise, told them I had a video and asked them to reimburse me for the replacement motor multiple times they left me with no recourse but to submit this negative review. If you notice the motor gets louder than usual better check underneath for a leak before it damages you floor.

I love this dishwasher! Not only is it as quiet as promised but its sharp looking too. I have oversize flatware and it took a while to understand how to load the flatware baskets until I got the book out. After many years of dropping the flatware into the baskets with handles up I'm still getting used to inserting the handles down instead. I do have the option of leaving the baskets open if I want to load the flatware the other way for some reason. Dishes are cleaned and dry when the cycle ends. I usually only use the quick cycle. I had an home inspection today and the guy asked me if the dishwasher worked or not as he stood right next to it while it was running. He laughed and said he was impressed that it was so quiet. I took advantage of the $19 installing special. They had it in and running in about an half hour and left without leaving any mess behind. The second best thing was that they hauled the old ugly, missing the outer door panel unit away. I'm buying the family home and can't wait to get the remaining LG appliances in my kitchen.

We have an open floor plan and needed a quieter machine. You can stand next to it and carry on a conversation. It dries better than my old maytag, I don't get everything wet when unloading. Racks could have used a little more attention to design and function. Filling is harder as the plates and bowls don't stand upright as I am used to and glasses have to be tried in different areas for best fit. (Racks can be configured to accommodate items.) They also have to be put back 'on track' if pulled out all the way when loading. Have been using for about a month now and the racking is the only issue I have with it.

I liked the looks of this dishwashe. It has a stainless stell tub and extra sound deadening so it is very quiet, the shelves are adjustible and tines are all able be folded down to allow for large pots an pans. The one flaw is in the bottom roller desigh! It keeps coming out of its tracks and unbelievably it is a pain to get it back on especially when the rack is full! It seems to do a good of cleaning the dishes.

I waited a few days to write this review as I wanted it to be an honest reflection of my satisfaction. Now that I have run the dishwasher a few times with no issues or displeasure, I can honestly say it was a very wise decision in purchase. It is not only an attractive appliance to view, it is a quality product inside and out. I have no complaints on any of the functions or outcome of my dishes. This was just one in a 5 piece LG package purchased from Best Buy. From purchase through installation, I would repeat my experience over and over and over again. No... I am not being paid for this review.

The dishwasher does a very good job, clean & quiet. My issue is with the racks. They are to flimsy. We use stoneware, & the fold-down holders tend to collapse. Also, the utensil holder is junkue! I finally used our Whirlpool holder, turned across the front to solve the issue. This means I have spare parts, if you need them. Seriously, take a good look at this issue. My recommendation to a friend is with previous caveat.

What an upgrade! I replaced an older GE model and what a difference. It's very sleek and has worked well beyond what we expected. Talk about Quiet! We no longer have to turn up the volume on our TV. The only problem, are the racks/tines. At times they do not hold, but not a huge issue.
