It took me forever to decide on all the 144hz monitors out there without G-sync or Free-sync (waiting til I upgrade my GPU), and I don't regret my final decision at all. Straight out of the box, the screen had great colors. It still needed a bit of tweaking, but not much at all. For being a TN panel, this thing looks beautiful. I can't comment on viewing angles too much because I'm always sitting directly in front of my screen, so it's never an issue. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to a 60hz monitor after this, and anyone looking to get their first 144hz monitor, I highly recommend this bad boy.

I researched this monitor for months and was impressed, however when it was hooked up the speakers didn't work. Since I brought it on-line I had to return it to the store and ended up buying a different brand.

The specs tell the story - it’s a gamer’s dream. It also came without a single dead pixel. The color has great depth, and calibration was excellent out of the box. It's flicker free (without motion 240, which also stops DAS) and details can still be seen in dark areas of the screen. This means it’s not just for gamers. It’s very versatile on how it can be hooked up (video in), but you don’t want to use HDMI (limited to 60 fps that way if I recall). I liked the access to two USB 3.0 ports. The stand was classy, simple black (matte, but glossy piano black base) with red high lights in back. The stand is easily adjustable in height, tilt, and swivel. The screen adjustments was simple to do with their joystick control. I don’t get an annoying power-on light constantly glowing in my eyes – hurrah! It’s a great gaming monitor.

Son wanted to build his own computer... We talked him into looking for one that met his needs for school and gaming. Best Buy price matches so we knew we were in good hands!

I used to own a recent IPS panel by LG that I really liked. I switched to this one because it was 144Hz, unsure whether the colors would be a lot worse. Compared to the LG IPS panel, small text on white screens is a little lighter, and a little harder to read. Dark areas seem to lack depth relative to the IPS panel. However the color is still very, very good. There is very little to complain about, and I am very happy with my purchase. Viewing angles seem perfectly fine, even coming from IPS. One feature that is great in both my LG monitors is their "reading mode", which is dimmer, and tones down the blue. It is REALLY good on this monitor and makes night use three times less fatiguing, I'd say. So good job, LG.
