Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the spaciousness, adjustable shelves, and ice maker of the 27.6 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator. They appreciate the design, French doors, and lighting as well. However, some customers have experienced issues with the compressor breaking down after the warranty expires, noise, fingerprint smudges, and the refrigerator being expensive.

We reviewed several refrigerators and are extremely happy with our selection. It's very quiet and the shelves were easy to adjust. We regularly use the water and ice dispensers and always have sufficient ice.

I like how the manufacturer put the ice maker inside the door to give more refrigerator space. The French doors are nice and allows plenty of room for storage. It's a plus having the freezer on bottom with full drawer.

The bottom freezer compartment holds much more than expected - and the lighting in the frig is very well designed so now I can see all the leftovers hiding in the corners

Was kind of afraid it wouldn't be as roomy or produce ice as well as my old refrigerator. Was pleasantly surprised. Love the look of the stainless steel, just wish I could display my magnets.

Not a bad fridge. No problems so far. Pretty expensive. Tons of room in the entire thing. Nothing too special. Quiet. Would have rather spent the money on a 75 inch flat screen but I needed a refrigerator.

Nice Refrigerator- different from our side by side

Nice fridge! This is our first french door type fridge so these are the items that stood out from our previous side by side model. Pluses and minuses... Pluses = Good size, looks nice, lots of room and adjust-ability inside. Very quiet and works well. I like the built in air filter feature and easy access to the water filter. Their dimensions are exact to the units size so it fit well in the opening in our kitchen. Minuses = Inside is very plastic. Wire baskets would be better in the freezer. The water dispenser doesn't "chill" more than 1 glass of water so your second glass is warm. It has a small reserve ice bin, not good for parties. Could use a couple more storage bins in doors on top. I don't really like the flappy seal thing on the upper doors as it seems like it will be something to break and need repairs in the near future and even more so if you have kids. The Ice maker side of double doors sometimes slams due to the added weight of ice maker and ice and this is the side with the flappy seal thingamabob. One last thing but it's a biggie to me, there is no adjustment underneath to correct the units rearward tilt that cheaply serves as the automatic closer for the doors and drawer. This tilting makes the unit look out of level, front to back, in the opening. Not a design flaw I would expect for the price and quality of this unit so if fit and finish matters keep this in mind. I would recommend the unit if the you can live with the minuses above

I've had the refrigerator for about a month. Right door is not flush and Geek Squad said LG would have to come out. The GS tech did mention there was likely nothing that could be done. The right door also pop opens slightly when you close the freezer. I came from an 8 year old GE that was great but it broke after 8 years. In the end the GE was not that great. The LG is loud compared to my GE. Not terribly loud but noticeably louder than other refrigerators I've had. For $1700; this is a bit disappointing.

This fridge has been great for my family of 5. There is a ton of room in it and you're able to move the shelves around very easily to have it accommodate to the items you buy. I also like that it beeps if you keep it open too long since my kids have a tenancy of doing that often. It also tells you when the filter needs to be replaced because with my busy schedule I would never remember to do it without that blinking light telling me to. I have it a 4 because my ice maker seems to jam often and I have to open the compartment and bang on it to loosen it up. Other then that its been great!

The refrigerator is well thought out and spacious. We especially like the small ice maker in the door and all the storage. Most everything about the product is good, except a fan is rubbing and the service from LG is aweful. They expect you to do all their legwork, they contract service people that don't return calls or don't see the value in a simple service call because LG won't pay them. If I had a serious problem i would be very concerned. If this was resolved quickly and efficiently I would recommend the company, but given the very poor service, I cannot recommend the company or the product.

We are happy with this frig. Water seems to taste better, ice maker works great, open door sensor sounds quickly. The only negative I've got on this frig is the right door needs to be pushed closed otherwise it doesn't close completely and the alarm sounds. Minor complaint that just takes some getting used to. Love the LED lights and the adjustable length shelf. Fingers are cross it lasts longer than the previous Electrolux (failed motherboard and ice maker with metal chips) and Maytag (caught on fire). Both lasted 5 yrs.

    Lemon

Within first couple months, freezer doors were frozen shut. Geeksquad came out, first geek looked at refrigerator, called his office, then said he would be back the following week. Following week, another geek came out, he asked the problem, I said freezer doors are frozen, he called his office, then said someone would be back the following week. The next week two geeks came to look at frozen freezer doors and called on the phone and said they had to order parts, and they owuld be back the following week. The next week someone showed up, changed the gaskets. Still gets ice, but, I don't have the time to take off to work to have them come out again. Five weeks ago, the compressor started whining, I called geek, they sent someone out to change fan motor and another part. I told him, the noise is coming from the back lower right, he replaced parts back lower left. I played the recorded noise for him, he could not recognized compressor noise. He called the next day to see if everything was ok, I said no, compressor still whining. He said he would call LG and get back to me and see what LG has to say. Four weeks later no call, refrigerator died, no call back. they sent another geek out, he called his office, they said they were sending new parts to fix problem, if it did not fix the problem, they would replace the refrigerator. Well, new parts came, they replaced they, but, they had nothing to do with the compressor, and service man called his office. The office said they would send a compressor out the following week. I said, I was told, they would not replace the compressor, he said, he was told they would. Geek squad, just changes parts until they finally fix the right item. So, now I will still be without a refrigerator, which is a lemon. When they come out next week and change the compressor, they don't now if that will fix the problem.

We liked the LG refrigerators because of the compact ice maker. The compact refrigerator takes up a lot less room yet makes plenty of ice for us. The linear compressor makes this a very quite running refrigerator. Quietness was also very important to us. I am so impressed with the quality of this appliance, I am going to consider LG for all of my appliance replacements.

I have enjoyed this refrigerator since day one. After suffering with a side by side for ten years, we took the plunge, and I am delighted. I especially like the drawer on the bottom of the fridge and the ability to see everything when I open the door. No more rooting around to find stuff! I haven't had it long enough to know about reliability, but as of today we are very pleased. It runs quietly, and seems to hold even temps throughout. The only caveat is to make sure you put the water filter into the holder. I ran 2.5 gallons through the water without realizing the filter wasn't in place!

I did my homework before selecting this model, and we have been very pleased with this upgrade over our previous side-by-side GE refrigerator & freezer. After purchasing a Samsung washer and dryer and knowing a couple of people who quickly experienced issues with their new Samsung refrigerators, I decided to give LG a chance. The capacity of this unit is more than sufficient, and space-saving design of the in-door icemaker and water filter is brilliant. This model runs quietly, and has the features that were important to us in selecting a new fridge.
