Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the spaciousness, adjustable shelves, and ice maker of the 27.6 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator. They appreciate the design, French doors, and lighting as well. However, some customers have experienced issues with the compressor breaking down after the warranty expires, noise, fingerprint smudges, and the refrigerator being expensive.

LG - had high hopes - what a let down

I've never had a refrigerator break so quickly. An expensive refrigerator should last more than a few years. Had ice build up constantly in the bottom of the freezer. Paid to have a repairman come out, to tell us that between new parts and labor, the cost would be over $500. I refuse to give LG any more money, and will purchase a new refrigerator. Also had an element go out on an LG stove top that is only a few years old. I loved the look of the LG products, but am very disappointed that they did not hold up.

LG - Vibrations Beyond Compare -

I bought this refrigerator from Best Buy and the purchase experience was great. The product however, is dismal. I have had numerous calls with LG "customer service" (a misnomer if there ever was one) and they've still not come out to service a new "broken" product. Long story short, this refrigerator is the loudest one I've ever owned, it not only vibrates when it's on, but the low frequency vibration creates sympathetic vibration in the walls throughout the house. Save your ears and you money and buy another product - this one is horrific. They cancelled my service appointment last Friday and I'm hoping they show on Monday - who knows if they can fix it.

    Garbage

So we bought it in January for the new house but didn't plug it in until May when we moved in. We started having problems with it in June, with ice buildup. Defrosted it, had a tech come in and it was fine until October and started having water leak and solid ice in the air return and bottom freezer. We have been dealing with "techs" coming in and dealing with this issue for a month. Finally someone says that it's a lemon. Best Buy won't even deal with the issue until the one year warranty expires. So much for having extended warranty. They eat you up when you buy something but to actually just replace a faulty unit is a process. Lg's customer service is horrible, you spend hours on the phone with people from overseas, they tell you that they'll call you back and they don't. This is the first time we've bought an LG and the last time.

    Ice maker freezes up routinely

Worked so well at first. A few months later, the ice machine began to freeze up. We would have to remove the ice storage compartment...what a mess...ice falls all over in the drawers and on the floor. The Ice shoot is always clogged up with frozen ice. I think there is a problem with insulation. Never had a ice maker do this before. We bought the 5 year warranty. I hope they have a fix for this...it was not cheap.

    Ice Dispenser Problems

I purchased this item in August of 2015. I had a similar fridge prior but I was having problems with it and decided to invest in a brand new one. I did research online and found this one to be a good fit for its price and spec ratio. THANK GOD I dediced to add the Best Buy 5-Year Plan for $150 additional. Only 3 months after it was delivered, I started having problems with the Ice dispenser. While it was making ice cubs, they were all stuck together and the ice compartmet was all frozen. I had to turn off the Ice Maker for a few days and wait until it melted. I thought it may be a one time thing. Well, it did it again and again. I finally called the Geek Squad Warranty and they sent a tech to fix it. It's a third party service. They said it was air coming in through the dispenser that was causing the ice compartment to get frozen. The service call and few parts to fix it was $250, and it took them a week to come back and fix it because they didnt have the parts with them on the first call. But I didn't have to pay anything. First time I get lucky with a warranty! Nevertheless, I was not expecting to have ANY problems with a Brand New $2,141 fridge so I am not very happy with it. The rest of the refrigerator works well. The Ice dispenser is too small and we constatly run out of ice. It takes it a while to produce new ice. I strongly suggest getting a Warranty. For 5% of the cost is worth it.

Fridge is great. Only issue I have is with the water dispenser. It is not obvious that the water is placed on the outside of the ice maker and fools everyone that comes over to my home. They put the cup under the ice dispenser push the water button and then we end up with water all over the floor. Very comical but a little annoying at times.

Had my last fridge for 12 years and wanted the new fancy updated versions. So opted for this one. The door seals are designed poorly and fell apart eventually as did the sandwich drawer that lasted a little over a year. the gallon shelf on the door broke along with the other 2 . the freezer sliding drawer broke and fell off the rails ..And the freezer fan is not functioning correctly and has been replaced 3 times ..Next fridge will be A Samsung crossing fingers ...Man i really liked this fridge until it fell apart not family friendly guess if i had a small family one kid or two but with 5 not a good buy...We use are appliances a lot.

    LG GARBAGE

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

in under 2 years, the compressor sprung a leak and fried. Needed to be replaced. I had to purchase a $400 service call through LG, as the warranty is only 1 year. So, after an entire week with an LG repairman, it was fixed. 4 months later, today, same thing has happened. It's dead. Fridge is defrosting like before and is non functional. for a $2000 refrigerator, this is absolutely ridiculous. I am going to need to spend another $400-$600 to have this repaired.

overall the fridge is nice, except that the FAN is pretty noisy when it turns on and it turns on pretty frequently. compared with my old GE fridge (though it had noisy fan when frost built up on it), this LG fridge FAN is quite noisy

    Stay away from LG refrigerators

We are so disappointed with this fridge. After two years, the compressor broke and although it is covered for 10 years, the service was not. The new compressor LG sent out vibrates and the refrigerator is noisier than the one we had replaced. We regret buying this fridge.

Bought this nice refrigerator thinking it would be a nice investment for our remodel. Didn't even last 18 months, but after some banter back and forth LG fixed the issue. Fast forward 2 year and the unit is breaking down again. I will not buy another LG refrigerator again!!

    Mechanical bad design

I owned another brand for 15 years, it was more quiet than this one. The freezer pull out shelf is of poor quality. Falls off track too easy. The most alarming part of this unit is the evaporation pan at the rear bottom of the refrigerator collects water and the condenser does not evaporate it. It grew MOLD and filled the kitchen with a terrible odor. The rear panel had to be removed and it was very difficult to clean entirely. I am a refrigeration tech and this design flaw is one of the worst I have see. Prepare to check this every few months. Not happy.

Horrible experience with product and LG

Refridgerator worked for about 6 weeks, freezer contiued to work but the main compartment stopped cooling. Called LG and they set up a repair appointment (should have had Geek Squad) but the repairmen never showed. Made repeated calls to repairmen and LG and after 2 and half weeks decided to do a return exchange. Went with Samsung and happy so far.

This Fridge broke just after the 3 years mark and no warranty could cover it. It just stopped working. LG gave us certified repair shops in our area and they could not get it fixed even for a whopping $450.00. I have LG everything now, I will never buy anything LG again. It is the worst experience I had on appliances and I have never left a review before on anything but I just could not be silent on this one. Why do this expensive fridge stop working in Three years and why does lg have only one year warranty on a fridge. Fridges should work at least 10 years without a problem. I will try my luck on Maytag or GE... NEVER LG AGAIN...
