Amazing LG 4K Monitor

I was in the market for a 4K Monitor and was looking at a Samsung model. I went to Bestbuy to look, found the LG Monitor and that was that. It is simply Amazing. I can't believe how good it looks. One of the biggest benefits is is an IPS LED screen. I use it to mainly PC Games on. Witcher 3 and Dark Souls 3 look Incredible in 1440p and just Fantastic at 4K . I can never go back to 1080p again. Colors and Blacks are so rich and just pop off the screen. Watched some Youtube 4K videos and was blown away. Then watched some Netflix 4K movies and the clarity is just Awesome. Glad I bought this monitor (especially at a $50 discount).

Great 4k monitor for the money

Retails for $499. Got mine for $370 for an open box. Had minor scratches on the top back part but, its an open box, so not really complaining.
Pros: The screen is fantastic, imagine that, a 4k IPS screen at 27". A sleek design that catches my peoples attention. Comes with two HDMI 2.0 ports with a display port 1.2 also with an aux port. At my desk, I have my desktop connected through display port and ps4 and laptop as the other two HDMIs. The menu for settings, input, etc is very easy to use with a toggle type of button. Comes with driver disc, hdmi, display port cable.
Cons: Contrast not very good for gaming. I noticed playing battlefield hardline, on the map, Growhouse, with contrast turned up on both the monitor and battlefield settings, (not maxed out, but higher then normal) The deep blacks were washed out. Other games. Speakers would be nice, but for the price, its fine.

Great 4K Monitor at a awesome price

I was able to grab this at $299 OB....what can I say!! It handles all my PC gaming needs using a 1070 at High or Ultra Settings. The color calibration was very easy and set up was a breeze. The only qualm is that the stand is very wobbly but upon purchasing a 3rd party stand it is awesome.

Wow! Setup, Plug in & Play

This is a gorgeous 4k monitor at an excellent price. I have this hooked up to a 4th gen i5 (low voltage-i5 4690s), 16GB RAM, Windows 10 PC with an Nvidia GTX1070. All I had to do was remove my old 23" IPS 1080P HP monitor (model: 2311xi), setup the new stand on the 4k LG monitor and plug in all of the provided cables. Colors are vivid and pop. While gaming, there was little to no blur/ghosting (in reference to response time). Some folks complained about the monitor shaking. I have a sturdy desk, so that hasn't been an issue for me. I tried to duplicate issue by shaking monitor stand... monitor hardly (front to rear I could not duplicate, but side to side shake may be an issue for unstable desks) shakes/moves. My main uses are entertainment (streaming media/tv shows), gaming and school work for college.
Pros:
-Beautiful color reproduction.
-While there are plenty of "hot/stuck" pixels on black backgrounds, they are not noticeable unless sticking face up by the screen. I haven't found any dead pixels... matte screen masks them well.
-images look sharp.
-backlighting reasonably uniform.
-matte anti glare screen covering.
- bright, bright, bright.... I keep the screen set to 65%.
-slim screen border.
-simple/understandable monitor menu/settings.
-reasonable build quality... didn't feel cheap to me, while it doesn't particularly "wow" either.
-Best monitor for the money as of now (10/2/16); purchased mine for 359.00 before taxes... was about $384 after taxes.
-Much crisper than my 1080p monitor.
Con's:
-Slight light bleeding in the lower and upper left and right corners, which is typical of IPS panels... so don't expect not to have it. It wasn't an issue while watching videos and games in a reasonably lit (lighting) environment.
-No ambient light sensor or built in quality speakers (in comparison to iMac... personal work computer IMO).
-Lots of "hot" pixels... pixels stuck as looking green/red on black backgrounds... the positive is they are very difficult to see and this is a pet peeve of mine. Since they are hardly noticeable with my face right up to the screen, I will be keeping this monitor... it will be a first for me lol.
-MAC OS handles high res monitors better than Windows 10 in my opinion... there are still many instances stuff appears hazy i.e. images and text from program menus, Google Chrome, etc.
-GTX1070 GPU is slightly struggling with high settings... looking to upgrade my GPU to a GTX 1080 now.

Exceptional 27" 4k monitor

I've used a Dell Ultrasharp 2408wfp VA panel for 8 years which was a mid range monitor priced the same as this monitor. I went to a 27" qnix korean PLS monitor which was good for the price.
I decided to try this 4k LG IPS monitor and it's the best monitor I have seen for this pricing. You couldn't get this kind of quality of a screen with the specs a few years ago. The stand is good enough for a standalone desk. Right away this monitor is pre-color calibrated. Make sure your video card has displayport 1.2 support to be able to use this monitor at the rated 60hz. The monitor at 4k resolution makes text and pictures really sharp. At 4k resolution and 125% viewing selected you can fit 4 documents in all corners. The detail is great but it has a bit jagged edges around some parts. I have the monitor set to cinema mode and it's perfect for me. Colors are a bit washed out with the factory color ICC profile but you can download different ones.
As a average consumer with light gaming to high media consumption and social media use, this monitor is a win. You no longer need to spend thousands of dollars to get this kind of monitor. It's a steal if you get it on sale. Would I recommend this monitor to someone who wants great image quality and very thin bezels that will fit a desk with limited space. YES.
If your looking for a monitor for professional color and image editing I would look elsewhere. For the average consumer this monitor will work beyond their expectations.

Good 4k IPS monitor

This is an quite good IPS 4K monitor. I bought it on sale ($399) and connected it to a MacBook pro via the Display Port. The picture quality is much better than all TN panels I've had the chance to try.
I have already been using it on daily bases for more than 3 months and haven't had any single issue. If you are looking for an IPS 4k Monitor for a reasonable price, this is it.

I spent a month deciding whether to buy it, then Best Buy put it on sale for $100 off. My only real holdup was the poor ratings on the stand.
Everything else met or exceeded all expectations.
When installing the stand, I saw the leg fit somewhat loosely over the mount on the monitor. I cut a strip to fit from a business card, then it was more snug. On tightening the screws, they weren't all the way in when they felt snug. An extra turn, and they tightened down. My desk is very sturdy, and I don't notice any "wobble".
The monitor itself is beautiful. It looks almost perfect at the Windows 10 recommended text size of 150% (equivilant to 2560 x 1440 resolution). I tried setting it to 125%, but it strained my eyes to read text.
The Onscreen Control is very handy, but I don't expect to use Screen Split very much. When I'm done, I have to resize all the windows manually.
I really wanted to give 4 1/2 stars for the stand and Split Screen, but had to give 5 stars.

Beautiful Games at 4k

Great monitor. Easy to look at. Only problems I have is the cost if it's considered one and the refresh rate at 4k, which is 30 hz. I did notice the screen looked a little white, but you won't notice it much and it doesn't take away anything. I could never go back to 1080p

I purchased this monitor knowing there might be better monitor. I did many review and most were positive. I decided to go for it without really seeing it. It was a really good sale and didn't want to pass it up. All, I can say is: Wow! I have Apple iMac 27" 5k. This monitor after calibration, It is as good as my iMac 5k. I am using this monitor with my late 2013 rMBP 15 via display port. The color is accurate, text is very crisp. It is so beautiful. I saw few reviewer saying this monitor won't go up to 4k with MBP? I am no issue going all the way to 4k. I have to throttle back the resolution though... at 4k, everything is just so small for my eyes. OSX just scales everything nicely, not like Window 10. All in all, highly recommended. I don't game, so not sure how well that will work with the freesync thingy? The only reason I gave 4 start is: there is no high adjustment. I think, the P and W model has it. Otherwise, i would give this monitor 5 stars easy.

Love the monitor. Colors are great, and sharpness is awesome. Definitely better for gaming than my 4k led tv and my 4k oled tv. The tvs both have better color accuracy and clarity but they are 55 inches of 4k. But the Monitor is by far better for gaming and response times. If you looking for videos in color and clarity then buy a tv however, if your looking to game and videos go monitor.

Amazing monitor

I've purchased this monitor and the -B (Black) model. Both have the same outstanding 4K panel. "It looks like paper!" Looks especially nice hooked up to a Mac (buy a Mini-DP to DP 4K cable if needed) but Windows 10 is pretty good too. The difference between this and the -B model, besides color, is that the -B model has a much better and sturdier adjustable stand, usually for more money.
HDMI 4K requires enabling "HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color". This allows the Xbox One S to display 4K with 8-bit color depth, no HDR disappointingly.

Great display with unstable stand

I'm impressed by the quality of the display on this monitor. It's bright, crisp, quality, and power effiecient. However, the stand in this monitor is not properly designed in my opinion. It's not strong enough to support this 27" display (eventhough the display by itself is very ligh). Whenever I move my mouse, type something, or do anything on my desk, the display wiggles, which was very annoying to me. I couldn't live with it and decided to return it eventhough the display was really good.

I have been looking for a 4k monitor for some time and been waiting for the prices to come down and also a screen with HDMI 2.0 to future proof it in terms of connectivity.
I run the my monitor with my MacBook Pro 15 Retina (late 2013) via Mini Display Port to Display Port.
I am enjoying my OS X desktop at Retina 1080p (3840x2160). Highly recommended.
