The Geek Squad Installers found the defect and promptly ordered me another one. This was an exceptional recovery from an otherwise potentially bad situation. I was very happy with how it all worked out.

First off on setup I found the Auto calibration did zero in my room. The sound in different modes was essentially better than how the automatic mode chose to eq the content. I had to turn the woofer way down because it was what I would call wooly meaning boomy and not tight- but lots of people think that is good bass. Had to return since the center channel decided to turn itself off more than once. The bar I heard in the store was pretty impressive, I think this one had more than the center channel defect going on. Went with another brand.

Spent twice as much on this model, and although the volume control works, the sound is horrible. Worse than the TV sound. Have to turn it up to at least 30+ to even hear it. Voices are soft and everything else too loud. I have an older mode LG sound bar that sounds fantastic, but they don’t make that model any longer. Assumed that this newer model would sound even better, but definitely not. I have three LG TVs, and I have tried both sound bars on all TVs. The old version works well on all three and the new version doesn’t work well on any of them. The older sound bar has a menu that you can see on the sound bar and the newer one does not.

Oddly, Hulu works but not Disney + or Netflix or Prime. Takes a minute for it to pop on with Apple Plus. Using with a new Apple TV box. Cable TV thru the sound bar works fine. Really annoying. Turning the soundbar on and off sometimes brings the sound back but not always. It’s not easy to figure out if it needs a firmware update and how. Annoying problem for such an expensive sound bar.
