Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the large screen size of the 34" IPS LED 21:9 UltraWide FreeSync Monitor, citing its clear and crisp picture quality. They also praise the high-quality, adjustable stand. However, some customers noted issues with backlight bleed in the corners of the screen. The monitor's impressive display is a significant positive aspect for many users, despite this drawback.

It took me a while to pull the trigger on a ultra wide, but im happy I did. I mainly use my PC for work but I also game on this and I'm pretty impressed. Multi tasking for work has made much more productive. Even web browsing is highly efficient. Gaming is fantastic as well, and even better when playing games that support the ultra wide screen. One con would be there is only 1 display port input. Now I KNEW THIS BEFORE I purchased it, so it was my decision. Yes there are other models that have more but, none at this price point. All in all, great monitor, great adjust ability for viewing, and very easy to use menus. oh, and built in speakers. yes, thank you LG!

Terrible backlight bleed, bottom corners are basically gray. Very disappointed, maybe I got a lemon,.

    Backlight Bleed

Awesome ratio, never owned an ultra wide and movies and games are awesome. This monitor does suffer from back light bleed, on mine the bottom corners as well as an irregular line along the top sucks. If you can find a similar size in this price range without the back light glow then go for it. I'm going to keep mine even though it doesn't really tick all the boxed. If you watch a lot of movies with dark scenes (horror, etc) be prepared to live with the grey areas. I've had the same problem with 3 other monitor's I bought recently. You'd think that if people can crack these monitors open and seal/fix the edges w/ electrical tape then they could just solve the problem in the factory. I DON'T recommend opening up your monitor btw. This is my second attempt at posting a review, best buy "lost" my original one apparently, maybe they didn't want a 2-star review or the photo of the back light issue needed to be vetted by a person like they do on amazon.... So... If you're picky about your edges being a uniform inky black you won't be happy with this. For most games and movies it will probably be fine. (21:9 is great!) Oh yea the stand is the nicest stock one I've seen and it's a generic VESA stand so you could use it on a different monitor. Mine is mounted on a 45" wall arm but I might use the stand for one of my other monitors.

I have been using this monitor for several months now and can say that it is very nice. I was a little skeptical about going ultra wide but now I do not believe that I will go back to anything else. The side to side landscape that is available is very nice for doing work and when playing games. The image quality is clear and there is not an issue playing FPS. The only draw back is the refresh cap rate if you are not using AMD video cards. I use Nvidia and have not noticed any issue. Also if you decide to go the ultra wide route for a monitor get the biggest you can afford because the screen height may turn you off compared to other formats.

If you want a desktop where you can easily read your emails AND your browser at the same time this works great. It is a 2560 x 1080 display so you won't get the detail you would from the more expensive models. But it is half the price also.

Overall an excellent monitor, especially after I remembered I could push it up to 75 hz. The response times are good enough that I don't notice any real smearing, and the VESA mount is easy to work with. The only real downside to it is it is a 2560 x 1080 resolution, which is a good tradeoff for the lower powered video card I had when I got it. However, now with something more powerful driving it, I'm missing the extra pixels of a higher resolution ultrawide. Still, I overall very happy with the purchase, and would never go back to a non-ultrawide screen again.

Good monitor is excellent for anyone using a CAD/CAM software. Allows for lots of extra room for tool bars while still having a very lathe work area. Quality and picture are great too. No graphics card problems at all.

The display is clear and sharp. I wouldn't go with a physically larger 21:9 display unless it supports 3440x1440. I'm using this for gaming, and while it's 25% wider than a standard 1920x1080 display, my GPU (980 Ti) isn't being taxed more by any significant measure. If you want a 12:9 primarily for productivity, I'd recommend a 3440x1440 display. But I'f you're already gaming at 1920x1080, the extra real estate offers more immersion and a possible advantage in games that support it (and most do!).

Nice big monitor, though do note that the pixel density is not that high (pixels vs screen size). But for my purposes, this works, without breaking the bank or giving up on some other aspects. It does have speakers (no idea on quality), and is 75hz, but it does not come with a display port cable as noted in the manual, which seems to be needed to hit 75hz. LG was no help in this. Otherwise, a beautiful monitor.

I opted for the 34 inch screen for the home office to duplicate the dual monitor workspace that I have at work. I'm able to have multiple windows open and work more efficiently (saving me unwanted trips to the office on weekends). I highly recommend this screen for anyone contemplating dual monitors or a larger workspace. It's great for HD video and games as well.

    Wide Format on a Budget

Bought this to replace the center display on a 3x27 inch 1080p surround setup. Now because the resolution is wider than my right an left I cannot run surround right now, however I still love the extra real estate. If you are thinking 2 screens but don't like the bezel then this is great. Also for gamers that want a wide format but cannot afford the 1440p versions from Acer or Asus that cost over a grand, this gets you wide format at 1080p vertical and it does 75hz. Now I will tell that you must turn FreeSync on to get 75hz (this does not mean you need an AMD card.. you need AMD to actually use FreeSync but if you turn on the freesync in the monitor then you can set an Nvidia Card to 75hz) Its not 144hz but its way better than 60hz and at this cost it is my suggestion for a ultra wide monitor at this price point.

Wow, you really don't realize how big this monitor is till you set it up. Only way to describe it is HUGE. Easily displays two to three windows at once, clear, crisp picture. Highly recommend this monitor.

Love the size, used to do two monitors and find this is easier on the eyes, can still split the screen and use it like two without having the space in between. Great buy for the price when on sale

I upgraded to the LG - 34" IPS LED 21:9 UltraWide FreeSync Monitor after my old 28" monitor gave up the ghost. My old monitor had a resolution of 1920X1080, The difference between my old monitor and the LG's 2560X1080 resolution is truly amazing. I worried that the extra six inches of screen would degrade the quality of the LG's stated resolution, I was wrong. The text is crisp and sharp, and picture quality is outstanding. Added to all this is the generous amount of features that come with the monitor. I love the PIP feature. I highly recommend this unit, you won't be disappointed

Less than half the price of the higher resolution 34UM88. Freesync makes gameplay smoother and the 2560x1080 resolution isn't that hard to run in games. You can split the screen between two inputs and view two computers at once. Very accurate color reproduction and excellent for video editing and gaming. Internal speakers are surprisingly good for built-ins. The 34" is definitely the way to go vs the 29" which seems too short. Prior to this I had a 24" 144hz Acer and picture quality wise the LG is superior.

I bought this monitor as an exchange to a Samsung 32" curved monitor. The Samsung monitor was highly disappointing due to the resolution. It was great watching streaming TV/Movies, but for office products and online surfing it was disappointing. So I gave this 34" LG a try and oh my!!! The resolution is great!! I am absolutely happy with this monitor!! And I highly recommend it!! Don't hesitate and just hit that buy button!! This monitor is awesome!!

Bought this monitor so when we VPN into work we can split the screen and treat it as a dual monitor. It works great for this. Very bright (had to turn it down) and clear. I would recommend for anyone needing a dual monitor but with the ability for only 1.

This is great for music producers. Instead of fixing notes on a small screen i lay lean back and do it comfortably. No back, neck or vision issue.
