This is a fantastic washer that in my opinion has to be one of the best on the market. My fiancee and I had done a lot of research prior to this purchase and we decided to pull the trigger on this over the comparable Samsung model. We considered the 5.1 cubic foot one and then remembered we don't have kids and wont for a few years (at least that is the plan). Why would we need that much space for $400 or so more dollars. Her biggest need was to wash fewer loads and get our comforters in there. Well mission accomplished, it serves our every need with room to spare. I can see splurging for the larger model with a house full of kids as I am sure that one is just as good but this thing looks sharp, was well priced, cleans exceptionally and has excellent features. We got a great deal at $899 and got the pedestals for half off at $125 so all in all under $2000 with the additional 5% for the best buy credit card and free shipping and installation.

I really like the LG 4.0 cu. foot 12 cycle high efficiency washing machine. It is a large capacity machine that is quiet - much quieter than our previous front loader machine. The machine has a multitude of cycle options and my clothes come out clean. The stainless steel machine looks great in our laundry room. When I do a load of towels, I am happy to find that the machine spins in such a way so that the towels are not heavy and come out almost dry!

I was unsure that a front load would be that much better than our old washer, but this one blew our old top of the line model away!! It is super easy to use, has so many features and cycles yet very user friendly. My wife is very impressed at how clean the clothes are and with the added steam cycle, there isn't anything this washer can't do!

We bought this to replace our washer that came with the house we bought. We've been in this house for 13 years and the washer was easily over 10 years old when we moved in!! We've seen a reduction in our water and energy bill :-) Washer works great and holds a lot of laundry. Only negative of a front loader is once you start it there's no quick reopening of the door to throw last minute clothes in. Also you must remember to not close the door in-between loads so you do not get the musty smell. Cleans clothes great, and much gentler on my clothing than the old washer.

Overall I am pleased with this washer. It is very easy to use and cleans well. There was an issue with the rubber door seal but it was completely covered by warranty and fixed promptly.

I bought this washer to replace an 8 month old "high efficiency" washer that was fancy but did not clean or deodorize my clothes, much less the heavily soiled laundry from my horse barn (horse blankets, grooming towels, etc.). This LG washer handles my filthiest horse blankets, as well as my family's everyday laundry perfectly, giving clean, sweet-smelling results. And I haven't even tried the steam cycles yet, because the regular cycles are doing the job. The drain filter is easy to clean, an important feature when very dirty materials are washed frequently. There is also a little spring mechanism that holds the door slightly ajar so the tub can air out between washes -- none of the musty, mildew odors associated with many of the high efficiency washers.

I've owned this washer for 2 months now and found it easy to use and it cleans well. Only once did it make some noise during the spin cycle and it was probably due to different weights of fabrics. If you stick with similar fabrics and sort your laundry you have no trouble. Also it spins most of the water from the clothes so my drying time has decreased considerably.

this is my first front-loading washer and so far it's great. I love the electronic programming. Seems to hold the same amount as the previous large-capacity washers (top loading). Uses much less water, of course. Harder to keep a large load in the washer, though, as gravity wants the clothes to tumble out as I'm loading them, but that's the way with this type. Much easier to pull clothes out once they're done, and that's the trade off.

I love this washing machine! I had an old Maytag in which the drum had become bent, so was really noisy. I also could not leave the door open because the light inside the door would stay on, and after a while the washer became full of mildew and smelled musty. This machine is quiet, efficient, and gets the clothing really clean. The door has a magnet that makes it so you can leave it open just a crack to let the inside dry without having to leave the door wide open. It would be nice to have a light that comes on only when the door is wide open.

After reviewing pretty much everything out there I decided to go with this LG model (and matching dryer) after taking advantage of some 4th of July rebates. I can't believe how expensive these things are now but I had to retire a 12 year old Maytag set set that performed well. If you aren't concerned about color or having the optional $250 base this pretty much represents the best bang for buck in my opinion. I've had it for a month now and it works exceptionally well. After washing I will leave the front door open for ventilation to reduce the chance of mildew. I also just used the HE cleaning powder from Tide yesterday for the first time. The washer has a self cleaning function and you are supposed to use it every 30 days. The steam function is great along with the extra large capacity. This will swallow up to a queen size comforter no problem. My clothes never looked so good after using this machine. It is relatively quiet but will make some noise on the extra fast spin cycles and when it is jetting water into the tub. I spent a lot of time leveling the unit which is the key to keeping the vibration levels down. My one piece of advice is to carefully read the set up instructions on how to UNPACK the washer before installation. I missed a small but important detail. There is a Styrofoam nob on the base of the packing material that shoots up into the washer to hold it in place. I didn't realize it was there and it ripped apart inside while I tried to slid the washer off of the base of the packing material. It wasn't a big deal but I had to tip over the washing machine to remove it.

This washer is very quiet and efficient. It washes very well. Large capacity for large loads and bedding. Not a single complaint so far.

We need a washing machine that can hold up over time to being used frequently for all types of laundry. This machine washes loads quicker than other machines that we've loaned. Due to that, we're also saving on water and energy costs as well. It has many cycles to choose from to cover all your laundry tasks. It runs quickly and quietly. It does a job of cleaning all types of laundry and fabrics.

The washers is quiet and can wash a good amount of clothes, is an efficient washer. Lots of good options to wash clothes with.

This is a great washer. My clothes come out clean and it's not hard on my clothes so clothes last longer. The clothes are almost dry coming out due to the efficient spin cycle and it "sings" to u when wash cycle is complete rather than the standard beeps. It senses the amount of clothes u have and uses just enough water to wash and rinse. The steam/sanitation cycle works great and whites come out white. Don't really need bleach except for my 11 yr old's socks but that's another story :)

I had a high efficiency top loader for 2 years and a board went out. Was told it could be 2 boards, wouldn't know until they replaced boards. This was a Whirlpool washer. This washer is so much more efficient.
