Customers are saying

Customers regard the sound quality of the 4.1-Channel Hi-Res Soundbar System as excellent. They appreciate the easy setup process and find the price reasonable. However, some customers have concerns about the bass not being deep enough, occasional connectivity issues, limited volume, and the lack of a display on the soundbar.

Ok, I gave in. I opened a Best Buy email, saw 4K sets at a low price, and my wife and I went to see them. Yep. Walked out with a 65" LG. Kinda WOW. So, had to upgrade our video player to 4K and buy new copies of our favorite movies, like Independence Day. We hooked up our old sound bar, and it was nice. BUT! Not as nice as it could be. Now, I wanted Surround Sound, but some sort of budget, since we were spending a pretty penny. We decided to buy a new sound bar, rather than spend the money for rear speakers for the old one. Also, decided to keep it within the LG family for continuity. It's not Bose or Polk (went to high school with Matt Polk) but we are pleased with the result. The subwoofer adds nice depth to the sound, and we get a fuller sound with the rear speakers. So, overall, happy with the value: fuller, richer sound to go with the 4K effect w/o spending a fortune.

This is a great sound system. I’ve had a wired Logitech speaker system intended for computers hooked up to my tv in the past, and this is a huge step up. The rear speakers are connected to a wireless receiver and put out great sound. Honestly they are sufficient enough, but then the soundbar and subwoofer add a lot.

I happened to look for a sound bar the day this model was on sale for a great price. That made the choice easier, but I have nothing to complain about! Upon connecting the sound bar, and pairing it, which was too easy, it then worked with ALL of my remotes! It comes with a remote, but the TV remote and Apple TV remote volume works with the sound bar. My old receiver and speaker combo are no longer needed for impressive sound quality.

Came in to purchase LG 3.1 Channel Hi-Res Soundbar System but they were out of them. The LG - 4.1-Channel Hi-Res Soundbar System came on sale a day later so we purchase it. Got an upgrade for the same price as the LG 3.1....Great quality, great price!!

Our previous home theater system we had purchased 9 years ago and had the geek squad set up for us. That system needed replacing and we found this on a good sale. It was a very easy setup. We also purchased an LG TV to go with it. It synced to the remote and within a half hour of setting both this and the TV up we were back watching our favorite shows with great sound.

I compared this directly with a few other brands in person before ordering through Best Buy. The slight increase in price over common budget systems/brands yields a massive improvement in sound. This is comparable performance to systems costing twice as much, even three times as much. Great value and pairs great with our LG tv, only needs one remote for system. We love it.

Got this for a man cave to replace an old Onkyo receiver system with tons of wires. Easy to set up. Sound is good thus far. We will see if it lasts but a month in I’m happy.

I picked up this system for my b-day, and hadn't realized it was rated for 420 peak watts...Whaaaat? WAYYY more power than I needed. But, I love loud music anyway. So, I'm all good : ) The package arrived ahead of schedule - even with a small problem with the recorded mailing address. Everything was neatly packaged, and the system, as a whole, is very light. Connecting everything was a breeze, and I was up and playing music in less than 10 minutes. The sound functions on this system are somewhat limited (only three: ASC; Bass Blast; and Cinema). In those three functions, you can choose surround compression, passthrough, or just the bar and subwoofer (on ASC only). It has taken a bit to dial-in the surround features, as you have to manually push or take down the rear speakers' volume level for the desired effect. My old Sony receiver allowed for spatial programming by setting the actual speaker distances from where the listener is located. This unit isn't as sophisticated, sadly. (And I got that Sony receiver in early 2000...) There are no real EQ options, and I find the app rather useless for streaming music. My phone and computer connect right through, and I bypass the app all together. I guess hardware-based functions could be accessed, if they allow it. At this level of tech, I guess I expected a bit more control over the sound on the bar itself... But, for the money, I am happy with the purchase. I've bought other various LG products, and have always been pleased. Now, I have to deal with my family, the neighbors, and the whole neighborhood every time I want to jam out to music. (Got a big grin on my face every time someone asks me to turn my music down : ) Would recommend this unit, as long as it's around the $200 mark or less. Happy listening, my friends!!!

This sound bar sounds good but it does not have a screen on the front to tell you how your connected. its just some dots that move around and you have to press buttons on remote randomly to get it connected.

Great sound quality if you really want surround sound. Other 2.1 channel sound bars just don’t cut it! It’s not a Bose (that self adjusts and regulates surround sound) but a great alternative for the price.

I could not get the rear speakers to work despite talking to LG tech support. They recommended I return the system as being defective. It turns out thought that the speaker wire that came with the rear speakers was just too light and wouldn't work consistently. I bought some 16 gauge speaker wire and the system works fine. Good quality sound, even from the small subwoofer. This would get five stars if it wasn't for the speaker wire issue.

I purchased this to go with my new LG TV. I do like the unit and the sound is great and crisp. However it seems that it doesn't connect to my TV as seamless as I was expecting. I will need to do a little more work to see if I did something wrong with the installation. Great sound quality.

This product is great for the price. It severely needs the middle speaker on the sound bar. I was not satisfied with the back speaker system, perhaps I set them up wrong, but they were just to loud and I could t turn them down enough. The sound bar and subwoofer package by itself was incredible. LG definitely knows their sound bars. For the price I would recommend getting a sound bar/subwoofer combo with a little bit higher quality.

Bought this soundbar system to replace my old one. It was easy to set up and sounds great. Love the surround sound rear speakers and subwoofer. It took a little while to get the correct settings for surround sound, but once I got them correct, the system sounds fantastic.
