We did a lot of researching when our 15 year Kenmore finally died. This LG machine is very quiet and does the job. It is a little bit bigger with the lid open, so make sure you measure properly if you have cabinets that overhang as we do. Very happy with the purchase so far.

Love how quiet it is and is easy to use. Also like that it measures water efficiently. Does a wonderful job of spinning too, so I don't have to use the dryer so long.

I can wash in one load almost as much as it would have taken my old washer to do in three loads. It is easy to operate with a variety of cycles. Has clear instructions and with the clear lid I can watch my clothes washing if I have nothing else interesting to do :)

Overall I like the washer. It washes large loads including bedding which I love. It being an HE it uses less water which I don't always like because it seems like its not enough to properly wash the clothes. I usually use the bulky setting which fills the whole tub but that defeats the purpose of saving water.

We've only had this washer for a couple of week, but are very happy with it so far. We almost returned it, however, because it is so large. My wife is 4'11" and could not reach the bottom of the drum to remove clothes. Her sister mentioned that she uses a back scrubber to fish clothes out of her washer. A trip to Wally World and a wooden back scratcher save the day! She really didn't want to get rid of the washer, because she likes it. However, the drum really is huge! You could hide 3 small kids in there! This washer does a great job of cleaning. It is very quiet and smooth running. We are very pleased with it so far.

Downfall is the auto balance feature that basically wastes a lot of time if you are used to washing on the go. On some occasions it takes 5 minutes to sense the load before starting. This can add up with a busy schedule of waiting and almost watching to see if washer has started or not. The results is washed clothes as you would expect. Not sure if cleans better than other brands but definitely cleans the clothes. Only disappointment is the load sensing that you cannot turn off and seems to waste time. 4 stars for the budget friendly as this washer is a fraction of the cost of similar models.

Great alternative to front load washers

We chose a high efficiency top load washer when we needed to replace our aging high efficiency front load washer for the following reasons: 1) Our washer is located on the second floor. We wanted to keep balancing and vibration to minimum. Our prior front load washer would shake the house at its highest spin setting. Our new LG top loader can operate at all spin settings without excessive noise or vibrations. 2) I know current front load washers are designed better than our prior front load washer, but we just did not want to deal with doors seals and the potential of mildew. Over time, the door seals will eventually deteriorate and who wants to deal with mildew and/or the replacement costs. 3) We can do larger loads and wash cycles are shorter than our prior front load washer. While front load washer are a bit more efficient using water, there comes a time when you need more water to get sweat and dirt out of your clothes. We ended up doing smaller loads with our prior front loader to compensate (not to mention vibration/balancing). In addition, the wash cycle times are about 25% shorter than our prior front load washer. The only potential downside to our new LG top load washer is that it's slightly more stressful to clothes. The agitation causes clothes to come out a bit more wrinkled straight out of the washer, but the wrinkles are gone when coming out of the dryer. Depending on your situation, the difference in agitation can be a plus or a minus. I would consider the agitation a plus if we were still washing baseball pants/shirts 3-4 times a week.

I absolutely love this washer! I had bought this LG washer and matching dryer for my daughter as a house warming gift in July 2014, and had really wanted it for myself too. When the opportunity came that I needed to replace my 19 month old Samsung washer (I will NEVER buy Samsung again) I did not hesitate to purchase this LG for myself. I love that the controls are in the front, me being only 4' 11", although it is a very deep tub so I still need a step to reach inside. It cleans my whites so much better than the Samsung, and it is very quiet too. I find myself listening at the top of the stairs to see if it is still running. I also like that I can peek inside thru the clear lid and see the clothes being washed. Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase and would recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality washing machine.

The washer was purchased because as a busy young couple we needed something that would cut down on our water bill and save us time doing laundry. Stepping up from a standard washer with agitator was the right decision. I can now do twice the load size I used to be able to do and the washer runs so quietly and efficiently. I am very happy with this purchase. If I had more money to spend I would have bought the set with steam but I have no complaints about the cleaning performance of this washer. I intend to get the matching dryer because it will look great in my laundry room.

I love this washer. I had another costly brand only for a year, which did not wash clothing and then completely broke. Haven't had this washer long, but from the beginning, it actually cleaned clothing, blankets, etc. and it is so deep to hold so much more. My laundry never smelled so good. As of right now, I am perfectly satisified and would highly recommend this washer.

One quiet machine, I hardly know that it is running even during the spin cycle. The end of cycle plays a musical tune that sounds soft and quiet but can be heard throughout the house. The multiple wash cycles and dirt levels selections makes it efficient at getting clothes clean and saving water and energy. The spin cycle really gets the the clothes dry and I need to run the dryer a third less time, saving even more energy. The machine is regular appliance height and I am 6 feet tall and even I have a bit of hard time getting things from the bottom of the tub.
