Whoa! Love! How can you love a washing machine?!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ha. I let it sit for a day before I had the right soap. I just gazed at it. Then I went to get my new bottle of soap. Then .... wow. What a joy to WATCH your clothes being washed from up top. By the time I ran it a second then a third time, I retired to the other room. Then I went in a couple of times to MAKE SURE it was still running since it is SO QUIET. And it's true - some items are noticeably already drier before they get put into the dryer - they are dryer just from the spin cycle. It's a joy. I bought the matching dryer too. They are gorgeous. Love the tune too. Be careful - the sales people might be trying to get you to buy a washer being phased out. I didn't even see this one on the floor! I had to find it on the website. This is the one!

Excellent Washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great washer! We've been using it for a few weeks now and thrown a variety of challenges at it, from bulky bedding to tough pet stains and it has tackled them all like a champ. The machine gets clothes clean. I've read a lot of reviews online suggesting people didn't have faith in the fact that a high efficiency machine could use such little water and still manage to get clothes clean, but this machine does its job well. Only real downside to this machine is (as with all high efficiency machines) you MUST balance the load before you start it. You can not just dump clothes in without regard for spacing and expect it to meet your expectations. This machine, unlike some others, will shut down if it cannot balance the load. It can also fill up with as much water as a traditional washing machine in attempts to balance an unbalanced load. If you glance in and your small load has filled to the brim, it's probably because it wasn't balanced well when it was loaded.

I Was Skeptical - But NOT NOW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical and really just wanted a basic, standard Washer / Dryer. I really did not want to spend the extra $300 per unit. However when I found that to get the larger capacity we wanted, the selection of models (and quality) did no longer exist. The Salesman redirected me to these LG models - which were the lowest price units of the HE kind. He explained that he has almost never heard of complaints from these units. I also researched and found that Consumer Reports and Best Buy Reviews had this highly ranked. The unit was 10% off. I am sure we could have gotten a better price if we waited, but we needed the Washer now. I mean WOW, and SUPER QUIET. Well worth the investment. Yes, a person has to be a bit more cautious on loading the washer and balancing the clothes around the exterior of the drum, but other than that we really like it. Wish it had a Permanent Press specific cycle for the Wash, but you can adjust the dryer.

Don't listen to anything negative
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this washer 4 months ago and it is worth every dime. We have a newborn so we do a lot of laundry. It automatically senses the size of the load. Just put the soap in and press start. The only advice I have to give is not to use nearly as much soap as you would in a conventional washer. Our power bill has dropped tremendously and the washer runs quietly allowing our baby to sleep peacefully. This is the only review I have ever written but this product deserves one. Thank you LG. Fantastic washer.

Good after getting used to it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The very first load I washed was a load of towels and It took almost two hours. It got out of balance and was trying to re-balance itself with no sucess. I had to open the lid and manually move the towels around. I went online and read several suggestions for how to load the clothes/towels properly. I have since done several more loads - more than 20 - and it has never gone out of balance again. Overall it does a good job and we are very happy with it.

Best Machine I've Had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this machine! I watched it through more than a few different programmed cycles to see what each program did. For example, Bright Whites and Bulky Bedding settings use higher water levels than others. I also realized that it isn't designed to move clothes through the water like the old agitators. It is designed to move the water through the clothes. So if you are expecting your clothes to swish around and move alot you will be disappointed. I love the capacity! I dump huge armloads of clothes into it and it always does fine. The reviewers that complain about balancing problems must be mixing types of clothes. You do have to pay attention to it in case it gets out of balance, just like any other machine I've had. But that doesn't happen any more often than my old machines. It always gets everything clean and spins clothes much drier than my old machine. I love this machine.

Great washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great washer. Read tons of reviews and decided on this one based on others review of the LG washer. Good price. Clothes come out really clean. Occassionally, if I wash towels or jeans/sweaters, I get a code of UE (uneven) and have to move the items around. The machine is not stuffed so I am not sure why I get that code. If you're not checking on the progress of the load, then you won't know the code is there until you think the load is done and it's not. Other than that, the washer is AWESOME!

No issue so far, love the washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have not had any issue with the washer to date. The only issue my wife seems to have is she can't reach the bottom(she is vertically challenged). Quite compared to what we had before. Seems to stay balanced unlike our other washer.

Terrific
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've had this LG washer for about a year now and it has been wonderful. We are cloth diapering our daughter and weren't sure the energy saving water feature would work for us, but by putting heavier wet towels in with her diapers it works just fine. My favorite feature on this washer is the timer, I can set a load of laundry up before bed, set the timer and already have it washing when I awake the next morning! I also love that without the agitator all of my queen comforters now fit easily in the tub with extra room for sheets and pillowcases!

Worst. Washer. Ever.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this machine now for over two years. It has always worked very poorly and only because I live way out in the middle of nowhere and neglected to sign up for extra service coverage have I kept it. Here are its main weaknesses: Unbalanced load. Apparently, one is only allowed to wash all jeans, or an entire load of similarly weighted t shirts or towels in order to have a cycle go smoothly from start to finish. Otherwise you get to run back and forth re-distributing your load. It is great if you like that extra large drum for big blankets, woohoo! If that is all I ever washed I would give it 5 stars. But no, it does not like doing small loads, at all. Get used to the UE signal. Also, it has ruined almost all of our family's clothing even when it does run right, due to the fact that it does not use enough water and twists and mashes the clothes being washed in a minuscule amount of water. I'm amazed they call it "washing". Add to this, you are not allowed by the machine to add your own water. There is no add water function. If you try to manually add, as I in frustration have done, this results in it freaking out and either filling the tub to overflowing with more water as it tries to guess the "weight" of your clothes, or it shutting down on you and draining all the water. Forget also about washing anything out of the ordinary: like soft tennis shoes or waterproof bed pads or some favorite pillow or jacket you want to wash on delicate, because it gets confused with these things and keeps adding water during the final minutes of the spin cycle, only to then decide it must go back to a rinse/spin cycle. Seriously, my kids say the machine is possessed. In short, this machine is NOT "smart" and you should not allow a "smart" machine like this to try to think for you because it actually is very stupid. Add to this it pokes out into my hall space because the back fittings are awkward and force the hoses to stick out 4 inches, where my old machine it was only maybe 2 inches. We are constantly working on laundry because of all the stops and starts. Tears of teenagers over ruined clothing. Enough. I am buying a new machine now and kicking this one to the curb.

Avoid this machine like the plague!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My trusty 20-year old Kenmore front loader finally kicked the bucket. My roommate had not cared for it as he's 6'8" and it was awkward for him to load and unload it. He wanted a top loader and he got this LG washing machine. The big reason I went with a front loader was to save money on water, soap and get a fast wash. He argued that the LG could do all that and better. It trumpets about how it is a smart washer, can thoroughly wash clothes using less water, etc. I've used this model for about a year now and I *loathe* it. I can't share what I actually want to say as it would be heavily edited or removed. I've read the instructions. I've double checked that I loaded the washer correctly. I've tried different ways of working with this washer. Unless I wash just a few things at a time, it is a waste of water and energy. Oh, and did I mention flooding? If it can't balance the load before going into the spin cycle, it'll add water again and try to get the laundry evenly spread out. In theory it sounds good. In reality the thing fails. Fails. Every. Single. Time. Water keeps getting pumped in and out. At one point I got aggravated and stopped the washer on its third attempt to balance the load. I opened it getting ready to do the drudgery of pulling out cold, soaking wet laundry but had to leave for a moment. Even with the lid open, the washer decided it wanted to pump out the water and keep on going! I came back and closed the lid and tried to stop the washer. No dice. It had made up its mind and was going to do the laundry its way. Hello safety hazard. It finally broke down within the warranty period, but the warranty was worthless. To have a repair person come out and fix it meant that my roommate had to cough up a healthy bit of coin for the labor. Only parts were included. He checked and found he could get the parts for far less than what he'd have to spend to use the warranty. He figured he could fix it himself. Ugh. But, since I do the laundry more now than he does, he decided I wasn't doing something right and went out and got ANOTHER ONE! So, here I am, with all the same issues and problems as before. The laundry comes out clean, but the stress and cost just isn't worth it. We have the first model sitting half disassembled in the basement laundry just across from its replacement. I used to enjoy doing the laundry. I could throw it in my old washer, set it and walk away without any worry. This washer has to be babysat when it gets to the spin cycle. Seriously. I dread doing laundry. The only way it works for me now is to have it not spin the laundry at all. Then I pull out all the laundry (tangled naturally) and replace it so the drum will be balanced. It would be faster to just have a hand cranked wringer at this point. This is the washer from Hades that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Not your mama's washing machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having had a washing machine with an agitator all my life, this took some getting use to. But, it seems to get the clothes clean, and spins out the water well so that it takes less time to dry. Cycles are quiet, which is a plus, but won't fit a queen size comforter - I tried, not a good idea - my comforter ended up with some holes in it. But, overall, I'm happy with the washer - so far, so good!

LOVE, LOVE, Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely efficient machine with easy to use controls...makes me look forward to washing clothes. The auto balance feature is nifty as it continuously monitors throughout the entire cycle so you never come back to an unfinished load due to being unbalanced. HUGE CAPACITY is another big plus. Final benefit is how the machine determines the amount of water it needs so you never will be surprised to find a large load done on a small load setting because you forgot to check. Oh yeah...Best Buy price could not be beat anywhere either online or in a brick/mortar store. No issues or complaints whatsoever.

So Much Room
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our Washing Machine broke and I would have never replaced it. But now that we had too I could have never imagined how taking an agitator out would make such a difference. I can wash quilts and blankets with ease and there is room for so much more. This washer machine is quiet and while it takes a lot longer its okay as you can do all sorts of multitasking while your clothes are washing. I haven't seen our utility bill since but hoping it goes down then I 'll love this high efficiency washer even more. Got the warranty just incase because this is not something I think I can fix on my own as with conventional washers. I have had a month and am happy so far with all the options in temp and cycles .

Buy the Set !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this washer and the matching dryer primarily because I needed a set that would fit in my narrow laundry room - but, I absolutely love it. They are both very quiet (important to me as they are in the center of my tile floored condo). They perform well, and are easy to work, even Grandma figured it out. Very intuitive controls. Bonus - they play a very cute tune/song whey they are done. My 13 years old is loving doing laundry because of the sounds. Also, good ratings on Consumer Reports. Highly recommended.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got my washer today. Love It! My old GE Profile front loader went up in smoke on Sunday. Ordered this machine online and had it two days. Quiet. Does not shake my house like the GE did. Large drum, easy to use. Fun to watch with clear lid. Had husband watching this amazing machine work. Did take a little while to level only because the old machine must of had been leaking. My floor is warped. Levelers on bottom of machine made easy fix that issue. Just happy to have a machine that works. Better than front loading machines.

Wow
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I bought the set in April of this year. Wanted to give them some time before writing about the set. We have had absolutely no problems with the washer or dryer. Easy to use. Holds the sheets and pillow cases from a king size bed. Would recommend to a friend or a stranger.

Great value.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have previously owned a Maytag & a Whirlpool, would never buy either again so we tried the LG. The wash tub is huge. It's so up to date with technology that I definitely had to read the manual on this one. It's super quiet and it allows you to choose a longer cycle or shorter cycle. The glass lid is nice. It's nice to see how much time you have left before the washing is finished. The music at the end of the cycle is strange and I need to figure out if I can lower the volume on the buttons when you press them. Overall, I'm happy with my LG so far and I would recommend it to anyone. Especially good for people with frequent large loads.
