    My wife loves it

We have owned this washing machine for 9 months and we're still thrilled with it. My wife still loves it which is the most important thing. She looks forward to doing the laundry. She loves the controls on the front of the unit. She has pre-programmed her favorite settings. The top load feature with window and no agitator is the perfect combination. Your clothes are practically dry after the spin cycle. We have had trouble with front load washing machine doors leaking and the locking mechanism breaking. No worries about that with a top loading model.

Excellent, large washing machine for a great price

I've had this washing machine about a week and I absolutely love it. (I have the dryer too.) I did a lot of research and so far have had no load-balancing issues that others describe. The drum is huge - you can't get this size machine for this price in any other make or model. The machine is very quiet and the cycles don't take as long as I thought they would. This is my first LG, but I've heard that the reliability is excellent. This is a great buy from their line of products.

    Worst machine ever made

Run as fast as you can from this machine; sadly it is the worst washer I have ever had!! Not sure how it ever got the rating it did but I can not do a single load without it going off balance and has from day one. The people that did the installation told me that was normal and it would balance it self out - NOT TRUE!! It takes me on average 5-6 hours to get 1 load of towels done and that is assuming I am here to constantly rearrange and take out until I can get part of them done. I have to power the machine off then try the "rinse and spin" cycle, then if that doesn't work go to just "spin" but that normally takes another hour or longer. Then I have to put the towels back in that I took out - I am not talking about big loads....I can't even put 4 towels in the machine. And it is not only towels - sheets, exercise clothes and normal loads are all the same - it doesn't discriminate....it is just AWFUL. This was the biggest waste of money....PLEASE take the negative reviews serious - I didn't cuz it still had a good rating - not sure how it ever got a rating above poor. RUN, RUN, RUN FROM THIS WASHER!

Great, quiet washer that performs well

Our last washer was horribly noisy and jumped and vibrated all over the utility room. The new washer was purchased for my wife who continuously tells me that she loves it! The difference is like a breath of fresh air! This washing machine works very well and is a great value for the price. The only drawback is that the tub is so deep that my wife has to use a small stool to get the clothes out of the bottom of the tub, but she is short in stature (5'2"), so it is not surprising. In spite of the need for a stool, my wife still says she loves it and is very happy with the purchase. Our experience with this new washer is now causing us to contemplate purchasing the companion dryer, even though the one we have is working fine.

This machine doesn't clean as well as any I have had in the past. I had heard new ones were not as good, but since it had good ratings, we bought it. If you get grease spots from cooking, it takes treating the stain and washing a minimum of 3 times. Today I washed dish towels. There was cheese on a nylon pad that was still there after washing twice on hot, heavy duty cycle. Makes you wonder how clean your clothes are getting!

    Pleased with Purchase

We purchased the LG washer to replace our standard washer that failed. We were apprehensive about moving from a standard wash to an HE washer, afraid that without an agitator the clothes would not come clean as some reviewers had mentioned. However, the larger capacity and promise of fewer wash loads won out, and thus far, we are glad we went with the HE washer. The LG washer has done a great job washing the clothes, stains are coming out, we are not having issues with soap being left on the clothes. Before our first attempt, we did as one review suggested, and read the instructions so we understood how to successfully use the HE washer. We have been pleased with the results. The washer is mostly quiet, the spin cycle is a little louder, but barely noticeable if the laundry door is closed. The capacity is fantastic, and we are doing fewer loads. The washer was pretty easy to use. We had to refer to manual for how to set custom settings. Everything else was straightforward. My wife hates change, but was able to quickly adapt to the new washer. She has been happy with the purchase, which makes it great for me. Everything works great, and now the only question is longevity.

    Worst washing machine ever!

I purchased this machine in Feb. 2013. The day it was installed, the technician plugged it in and the circuit board blew. Had to wait another week for a 2nd machine to be delivered. Worked "ok" for a couple months, then it all fell apart! Kept getting error codes, so I called both place where I bough it from and LG Support. LG support told me the machine was unbalanced. So we rebalanced it. Husband ran a load and the machine stopped mid-load and went black - no power, nothing and the lid stayed locked with the water in it for 4 days!! I had the repairman out and he unlocked the lid - I threw out everything in the washer as it stunk horrendously! Waited another week for repairman to get the part and replace the console board. Ran a load and got another error. He came back out & found that the motor had not actually been screwed onto the machine at the factory properly (or at all)!! Waited another week for the part and he replaced the motor as it was shot. He left, I ran one load and got a different error code. Called him back out, he ordered yet another part, waited another week and he replaced the water intake. So 6 repair calls and 2 months later I complained to LG. They said I had to have the repairman submit a claim to get my money back. That took another couple of weeks and finally got the call today that they'll replace the machine. Oh no I said - I do not ever want to own another LG washing machine again! They agreed to a store credit - I'll take it

    Keep getting error codes

I've had the washer for close to a month now. I keep getting the error code for unbalanced loads. I sort my laundry and have never had so much trouble with a washer not balancing a load. I'm having to stick close by as I wash each load to be sure the cycle completes without the error code. I woke up one morning to find the cycle didn't complete because the washer could not balance the load! I want to exchange it for a front loader (I never had this problem with my Whirlpool Duet front loader, which I had for 15 years). Washing should not be so much work anymore but this LG top loader requires constant monitoring.

    A Rare 5 Stars

Replacing a 12 year old "super capacity" top loader. This one is as automatic as I could imagine. Just load in the clothes, load the liquids to their dispensers, close the door, push a few buttons, and come back later. It "weighs" the load and adjusts the water, it has every useful cycle/water/spin combination. BUT, ..... read the instructions first ! The front edge of the top folds under when open so the top clears under a shelf 14-3/4" above the machine. Yes, it takes longer, up to 1-1/2 hours, but that is a measure of convenience, not performance. Besides, it has a delay start capability so you can almost set it to end when it is convenient. It runs very smoothly with no of vibration; it seems to self-rebalance the load if needed. The one caution: the stainless steel tub is quite large capacity, and it is fairly deep which may call for a serious stretch to the bottom for shorter folks. Otherwise, score one for modern technology.

    Rough on clothes

I have had this washer for about 6 months now. I really do not like how rough it is on clothes. Even on the delicate cycle things get really beat up and stretched out. The cycles also take FOREVER. If it says 45 minutes, don't expect it to be done for a good 60+ at that point. The machine is quiet though.

Nice machine and my first one that has direct drive. It is easy to use with the computer graphics and choices easy to read and understand. Looks like it is very well built and looks really nice. A negative is that it seams to get out of balance easier than any other machine I've had before. In one case I had a light blanket and regular sheets in the load and the computer worked and worked to get the load even but could not. Even after I resorted the load a couple of times it could not do it. I ewventually unloaded and just washed seperately.

This washer is great because you can fit so many things in here. It detects your load size so you don't have to worry about wasting water or time if you only want to wash a small load. It has many great settings. Love IT!!!!

Our old washer was 15 years old before it broke down. The modern look and new technology on the LG High Efficency washer is impressive. Cleans clothes more thoroughly than the old style of washers and offers more options. The LG washer will save money in the long run on water, detergent, and electricity. The price for the new efficency washer was about $150 more than the old style agitator arm washer, well worth it.

I am happy with my choice of this washing machine. It's easy to operate and I love being able to see what's going on, inside. I wish I had thought more about the water supply and electric connection being visible because there is no control panel on top. I REALLY like the way part of the top folds under so that the tub can dry out between uses.

Great washer, the drum is wider that it is deep which is great because my wife doesn't have to get on her tiptoes to reach the bottom. We are previous front loader owners and this top loader works just as well, if not better. Vibration is little to none at the highest spin setting.

I had a kenmore washer for 25 years and never had a problem until the foot rest finally rusted out. This washer did not even last 2 weeks before the repair man had to come out. I have had it 10 months and it leaves residue on clothes, i have to wash them twice to get clean. gets off balance all the time. HATE IT . would love to have my old washer back!!!! Will not ever buy another LG washer!

We purchased this washer in August 2013. I noticed right away that it took over an hour for most wash cycles. If unbalanced, it will automatically add water and spin to get unbalanced, which adds to the wash time, and sometimes goes over 2 hrs. Our washer stopped working in Feb. 2014 (yes, only 6 months old!), then again the first week of July. Lost all power during wash cycle, could do nothing with it. Lid locks during operation, which means you cannot get your clothes out! LG customer service is a joke! First time, washer was down 3 weeks, this time going on 2 weeks and counting. If you want to spend time at the laundromat and waiting around for repairmen, by all means, buy this machine! Rude, bored sounding customer service reps who speak English as a 2nd language, very hard to understand. Takes 2-3 days to get repair appointment, another 3-7 business days to get parts, which may or may not work, then start the process all over again. Machine is also not great at getting very dirty clothes clean--have to run them through twice. Also doesn't save as much water as promised due to the unbalanced problem mentioned above. Also, I am 5'6" and can barely reach on my tip toes to the bottom of the tub to get the clothes out. If you're shorter than this, you will need a step stool. In my opinion, you are much better off buying the good old fashioned agitator type of washer and not this newer electronic junk.

Love this washing machine! Clothes come out looking and smelling so clean. Was skeptical of the HE washers after reading some reviews, but all my concerns are now gone. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an HE washer at a very reasonable price! We matched it with the LG - 7.3 Cu. I did my research when looking for a machine since it had been about 20 years since having to buy one! Read reviews, visited stores and searched the web and found this machine had the best reviews and it had everything I was looking for! Thought the looks of it was a bit odd, but I have ended up loving it!!! It's hugh, it's quiet, it cleans great and I couldn't be happier. Purchased the matching dryer, as well, and love that too!! I've done the research for you! Buy it!!
