Very good unit at a great price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good units that replace an average Whirlpool. I have had the usually top load units form GE/Whirlpool/Maytag with average results. Hard on clothing, and rough when spinning. This using and matching dryer have been a great replacement without spending top money. The one issue is that the unit has a high pitched noise that will take some getting used to, but not that big of an issue.

Stupid waste of metal and plastic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing didn't even last 5 years. Though from what I've been reading, I am one of the lucky ones because most people have had theirs die after 2 years. Oh, the infernal "UE" code- this useless metal box began to unbalance after every wash and no amount of re-balancing the clothes would help. So much water and electricity wasted. I am not willing to pay $85 just to have an LG-approved appliance repair tech step inside my house and charge an arm and a leg for what is likely to be a useless repair. I read horror stories about people’s experiences dealing with LG to try to repair this junk and have no desire to try that out for myself. Stay away from LG. Awful quality!

Awesome Washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer exceeded my expectations. My wife wanted a top load washer, and we found this online. Went to the store that night and ordered it after seeing the display model. We also purchased the $629 dryer as well. Only thing I will tell you is to make sure you get washer lines because there are none that come with the washer.

Worst washer I have ever owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased Washer about 8 months before moving into a new house. Best Buy delivered the washer but didn't leave the manuals for me. Upon using washer in new house after a few months, noticed was only running hot water. I thought was issue with cold water lines so I contacted plumber who came out and said lines were fine. I then contacted LG and was told the machine only has 1yr warranty and because is now a few weeks out of warranty, they could send out tech at my expense and that is likely the control board that will need to be replaced. Googled the washer and found so many complaints about the quality of this machine and problems. Wish I had done that before I bought it. Washer should last longer than a few months. Totally disgusted with this machine and would never buy another LG product again. Total waste of money.

Don't buy this washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this washer in February. The spin cycle never ends. The timer gets to 15 minutes left, then the tub stops, refills with water, spins, and repeat and repeat. I have had a technician update the software and this helped for a few weeks but now it is back to reading uneven loads - loads can be small, large, all the same items (towels or jeans). It doesn't matter. The tub reads uneven. The technician said the load looked perfect and the washer itself was perfectly level. One load can take me all day to wash. If it doesn't drain entirely, I put the clothes in the dryer dripping wet and have to use 3 dryer cycles to get clothes dry. Choose another washer - I wish I did!

Nothing but trouble for us.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our total experience is way too long to write. It started with delivery and set up. The machine started out working great but it started to have uneven loads show up more and more. It would pause, add more time, get the UE and small ue and took quite some time to wash a load of clothes. Geek squad was virtually no help in repairing our machine and their suggestions were ludicrous. We finally get a replacement machine and now Best Buy can't come through for is on the machine we want in a reasonable amount of time. We can't win!

Stay away from this
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do love technology so I went ahead and bought this washer for my wife based on reviews and technology features. I regret 1000 times. If you want an unhappy wife then go ahead and buy this....I don't understand the good reviews....this machines sucks....always unbalanced..it could takes hours to do one load because the machine keep trying to balance the load...without agitator doesn't remove dirt or stain from clothes... if you still want to buy this machine buy me a $300 front loader machine and I would trade it for this piece of junk!

Six month use review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really liked this LG direct drive washer for about the first couple of weeks but it is really annoying to use. Normal loads take about an hour to do if by chance you are lucky enough for it not to start all over because of being out of balance...which happens on most loads. It starts all over and pours more water in the tub to solve the issue. have stood over the machine for a whole hour on several occasions to watch it go into spin cycle, show no obvious out of balance while spinning, then just stop and start the wash cycle all over again including the time because the machine is sensing some out of balance issue. My electric and water bill are about $30 higher a month because it just runs and runs and runs and keeps filling up with water multiple times to try to balance out the load. I just don't understand why it is doing this when there is very minimal vibration or out of balance when spinning. We are coming from three straight front load washers which by the way clean way better than this machine. Our clothes also smelled cleaner using the front loaders. Since we are selling our house, we have decided to just give this set to the new owners and go back to front loaders. Much quicker, cleaner, and way less expensive to operate a front loader. We do like the LG dryer tough. It does a very good job and is big and the design of the LG pair are nice.

Great Washer & Dryer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer is doing a great job cleaning clothes. Does not use a lot of water. Many different options to wash the clothes. The dryer is the best dryer I have had in a very long time. My last two were Maytag's and did not seem to heat up as well as this LG. I would buy this washer and dryer again!

Warning - you will regret this purchase!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer will not get your clothes clean. This is very evident when you wash dark items. The water level is too low to rinse all of the detergent out. We use the small amount suggested and I have even tried a second rinse but that doesn't always work. Clothes don't smell fresh and have spots!!! Defective. I wish I had been warned.

Unbalanced errors after 9 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really liked this washer for the first 9 months. Then it started to stall in the middle of smaller loads, giving the unbalanced error. Then it started to do it with larger loads. Now it even gives the error when I do a 'clean tub' cycle with no clothes!!! I have to check on every load 2-3 times to make sure it hasn't stopped running. Now I will have to waste my time getting it repaired. I'm very unhappy with this purchase and would not recommend this washer to anyone who wants a reliable machine.

Awesome Washer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was between a top and a front load washer because of performance, durability and yearly cost, but after a lot of research i lucked-out on this one. very, very happy.

awesome washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i really love the washer. I think it does a good job on the clothes. It does take longer than a conventional top loader but I think it is worth it in the end.

Defective pump not working after 5 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a new LG High Efficiency top load washer, model WT1101CW, on August 12, 2013, for a total of $659.98. On January 19th 2014, 5 months after my purchase the water would not drain from my machine. I had to pull a full load of laundry out and squeeze each dripping piece of laundry in my laundry tub. I called LG and was told that I would have to use a local third party service company to provide warranty service. They put me in touch with a dispatch center to set up a service date of Saturday January 22nd. I remembered that I had purchased an extended service agreement from Best Buy when I purchased the washer, so I then called into Best Buy GeekSquad. They were able to get someone out on Monday January 24th which worked better for me due to my work schedule. Best Buy also assured me that they are authorized to provide warranty service so I decided to use the service from Best Buy. When the technician arrived he discovered that the pump on the machine was not operating at all. He called dispatch and ordered the part, we set up the service for the following Monday, February 3rd. He also told me that if the part did get to me sooner I should call and let dispatch know because it might then be possible to get someone to install the new pump sooner. As of Thursday evening I had not yet received the part. I called to check on the status but was told that the part is on backorder and there is no indication of when it will arrive. I am entirely disgusted with this situation. There is absolutely no reason that a 5 month old machine should malfunction. It is also a new LG model so one would think that parts should be readily available. Unless the pump on this model is defective across the board and that is why they do not have any in stock. Up to this point I have loved everything about this machine. Now I am entirely dissatisfied with the LG product. I have two weeks worth of laundry in a household of four people and there is no indication of when I will be able to do my laundry. I might also add that I live in the Chicago area and we have been having absolutely nasty weather, which is not at all conducive to loading up a car with 5 to 7 loads of laundry to tote back and forth through several feet of snow. I am however satisfied with the help that we have received from Best Buy. They have even offered to reimburse us for our cost to use a laundromat. The Best Buy policy will replace this machine with a new one if it takes 30 or more days to receive the part. While this is wonderful on the part of Best Buy it is completely unacceptable to me that I will have to be further inconvenienced and have no idea as to how much longer this will take.

Wonder if I should have gotten something else
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a pair of black pants that always has soap spots on them. With that and that my white towels (although old) look soiled, I wonder if a different washer would get things cleaner? The washer works great though, and has a great style.

Wouldn't buy again.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this unit in July of 2013. It is now March of 2014. Over the last 9 months I've found that this unit is under performing. If you use any type of Oxy-Clean powder be prepared for it to be clumped in your clothes. I've also noticed this machine leaves lint streaks in your clothes. Recently its struggled with anything more than a few regular bath towels. I continue to get the "UE" error on the screen, meaning "uneven". When this happens the unit will just continue on in whatever stage of the wash cycle it was in, indefinitely. This is supposed to be "Ultra Large Capacity". That's laughable. The wife and I recently had to ring out a whole load of towels by hand because the washing machine couldn't/wouldn't do it. Very frustrating. I would not purchase this unit again. 2nd LG product to have let me down.
