I've had nothing but problems with this washer and after less than 8 months, I am finally giving up. 90% of the time, loads get out of balance and it takes a couple of hours or more to finish a load. I have called, followed instructions, had a service call - it doesn't matter what you do. You can't wash anything water resistant, small loads are a problem. Even if I wash the exact same load twice, one time it may run the correct amount of time and the next - out of balance and 2 + hours. It spends more time load sensing than it does washing and it adds water to correct imbalanced loads. So what is high efficiency about this machine? Longer run time = more electricity. Adding water = wasted water. Clothes often don't smell or look clean. It's simply a bad machine. I am going to call Best Buy and LG to see if they can exchange for another machine / offer any satisfaction.

I purchased this washer and dryer in Nov 2013. I wanted a larger tub and better cleaning than my front loader. Boy am I sorry! It doesn't get the clothes clean, It doesn't use enough water to even cover the load. It DOESN'T move the clothes around in the water it just sits there and sort of moves. I think it's just the water that's moving. I have put towels in, moved them to the sides like the sales girl said to and at the end of the wash there were towels laying flat on top the rest of the load and all the dirt and lint was laying on top the towels. I had to rewash them. I hate this washer!!!!! oh and if your short for get reaching the bottom of the tub I have to hang over the side (feet in the air) or call my husband.

After 9 months I figured it was time to write a review and share our story. The UNBALANCE ERROR comes on EVERY LOAD. It gets stuck in the rinse spin cycle. If we would leave the washer to its own it takes about 2 hours to do a load of whites. After a few times of attempting to level out the load I get frustrated and just set the washer to do a Spin only cycle. But when I do so, I have to turn the water off to the washer so it doesn't fill the tub up with water before it starts the cycle. This purchase was supposed to be our little splurge for our new home, instead it has been nothing but a hassle. No only would I not recommend this washer to a friend I would let someone I didn't like buy this washer.

I really I very pleased with how this washer performs.

I selected this washer based on the feedback from different sites, and got it in Besbuy with the best pricing on the market :) After 3 weeks of using it the bestbuy return policy has expired :( and I feel really disappointed with LG. This machine is DESTROYING my clothes. First week we found a little hole in one of my wifes T-shirts... we thought it was something else, and let it go. But now, each time we wash a load, we are finding more issues with our clothes, to the point we have up to 6 different shirts, skirts, pants with damage.... I just called LG and they told me I was not using it correctly, I should add more water!!!! this machine adds water automatically!!! should I bring a hose and add more water manually? what a joke. They will send acontractor to check my machine, hope they find the issue or change it... will update post after it. But now, be WARNED !!!!

My wife just loves this machine. Great size, so far no problems.

Don't by this garbage, heard lg was great but not this one, I'd say 75% of what I wash ends up UE and I have to babysit it to get it to where I can put it in the dryer, total garbage. I've tried leveling it but only mildy helped, large loads do better and like items do better but still 75% of the loads I wash ends up UE, sometimes I can do a quick wash and it will fix it but most of the time I just have to run it and stand there till it goes UE then kill it and run it again till they are dry enough to move to dryer, this is a horrible washer don't by, how can it be energy efficient if you have to run it 4 times to get it finished

My husband and I purchased this washer under the recommendation of the sales person, and the high rating it has. In reality it doesn't even do what it's supposed to do, wash our clothes! I would give it zero stars if I could. It spends most of the time thinking the load is unlevel "UE" and keeps filling with water to try and even out the load, which is perfectly level to begin with. It uses a ton of water and can take up to several hours on one load if left to it's own devious means. You have to stand over it and adjust the load, or select the "spin only" setting, or simply ring out your wet clothes like Grandma did. Total piece of crud, and in some cases the clothes are not even clean!! Save yourself some frustration and get a washer that actually works.

Worked great for a year or two. Then would go out of balance often. Today I had grease all over my laundry - bearings are shot. Only 3 1/2 years old. Disgusted.

I have not even had this washer 3 years! 6 months ago I had to have electronic panel replaced. Now, I need to have bearings and transmission replaced!!!!! Never buy an LG! They are garbage!!!!!!!

After a few months a build-up forms on the outside of the drum, unseen and with no way to remove it. It begins to leave tiny specs of sludge on the laundry. Meticulous care must be taken before putting stuff in the dryer. Furthermore, while the machine uses less water, one must compensate by doing more loads. I'm going back to conventional machine: some things are not conducive to the green so-called improvements.

This washer is very quiet. That is the only good thing about it. It takes forever to wash your clothes, smells like a wet dog, and will not fill after 6 months of use. It did not get the clothes clean even when it worked.

This is a follow up to an earlier review. The problem is the machine won't wash less than full washloads even though the instruction booklet states you can. Originally contacted LG via web inquiriy and received instructions back to reset machine. Performed reset and the same problem existed. Yesterday, I contacted LG Customer service and was told that I am not using the machine correctly and she said that she was going to send me a link to view "how to use machine". I explained that I already viewed the video on the web but she didn't listen and sent me a link anyway, to how to set up your LG Televeision. Really? I called back and spoke to a supervisor and was told "What do you expect me to do about it?" I'll never buy a Washing machine again based on high recommendations. In hind sight, I would have returned the machine to Best Buy but I was immediately leaving on an extended vacation and it was too late when I returned.

Do not buy this machine. I am so very disappointed. It constantly shuts off because of "uneven load," particularly on smaller loads. It also does not give a warning sound when this happens, so you come back to the machine to discover the load you thought was finished isn't anywhere near. I wish I had known this before I bought it. I hate this thing.

Bought the washer in July 2013. I carefully followed manufacturers instructions. The machine stopped spinning and would not empty on 2/8/14. After 3 visits by the geek squad the tech installed a new mother board, a pump, and a suspension system. Today after scheduling and rescheduling parts delivery, trips to Laundromat, and tech visits today's tech recommended replacement. There may not be significant difference in brands however no more LG's at my house. No stars

drive assembly rusted out, wash plate warped and came loose. Parts cost alone would be more than replacement.

had it delivered and installed. The paper work was left on top of machine. Went to fill out warranty and need serial #. Can't get it after its installed.

Waste of money! Constantly UE! It spends more time adding water to "unbalance". I follow the directions on how to load and it happens 98% of the time! The only cycle that goes start to finish is the bulky/bedding. Wish I had researched a little better! Have to go move my clothes around so my wash can finish!
