If I would have written a review on this washer within the first 6-8 months of having it, I would’ve given 5 stars....we were happy with it. We bought this washer new about 4 years ago after we built our house. I’m only writing this review now because I believe in doing your homework before making a large purchase. There are not many reviews on this washer from people who have had this washer for an extended period of time so I wanted to help a fellow consumer out :) First of all, I did read the manual and did everything as instructed. On 3 occasions, the flat center piece that “agitates” came completely off during a wash. It literally came unscrewed and loose and was banging around during a wash. So, I have to drain water from tub, remove clothes and pulled piece out to find the underside of it covered in slimey grime-water that’s in contact this grime and your clothes at the same time cannot be getting clothing clean! (See pictures). Our clothes never had a clean smell, now I know why! I never fill washer to capacity, I use HE detergent, started using heavy duty cycle, and I regularly run the tub clean cycle. I don’t know what else I could possibly do. I’ve had it repaired 3 times because of this. Granted I do have 4 boys, so it gets quite a workout, but for the amount of money we spent on this, it’s completely unacceptable, and should last a LOT longer. I can honestly say I can’t wait to get a different machine. Disappointed.

I prefer top-loading washer over front-loading as there's no need to worry about leaking. It is very quiet, efficient and large enough to wash king sized comforters. It is quieter than any washers I have used before. There is no agitator (my main reason for purchasing this machine) so it handles much larger loads.

We have had this washing machine for almost 2 months now. It is just as amazing today as when we purchased it. It works exactly as advertised. Both daughters have LG machines that they love. Now we see why. We have read other reviews that said they had assorted issues with these new washers. First, these are not like your old center agitator washers. DO NOT expect them to function in the same way. Second they DO NOT need as much water as your old machine to get your clothes clean. You DO NOT need to over fill the water like your old machine did. Let the machine do what it needs to do as designed. DO NOT over stuff your machine with clothes just because it has a big drum capacity. Most importantly RTFM! The manual is provided for a reason. READ IT. Pay attention on how to load it and what detergent to use. Must be HE designated detergent. HE detergents are concentrated so you only use half as much detergent by volume. READ THE LABEL PEOPLE. Check the container. If not HE then DON'T USE IT. If you are still confused, please see comedian Ron White's comment about that. This is a great QUITE machine that uses less water and electricity than older machines. Clothes come out very clean. Excellent feature set to chose from. Can't ask for more than that. Highly recommend this machine to anyone.

I needed a replacement washer for my old one that got recalled. I was looking for near the $500 price point and there weren't that many. For the price, this is a good washer. So far I've had it for 2 months and I feel like it's working well. My clothes feel clean and I like the setting options. I like that the buttons on towards the front instead of the back, which makes it easier for shorter people to use. I recommend this washer to anyone looking for one around the $500 mark.

Had this for a few weeks and we washed everything you can fit. No error codes or issues. It's a washer and washes. I was skeptical with some of the reviews but 9 times out of 10 people just write a review to complain about a bad product.

Had a LG front loader for 9 years and hated it. Never felt my clothes were clean. This top loader is terrific. Really like seeing water actually wet my clothes and the tub is bigger than I thought is would be.

Love this washer, had a Samsung previously that ruined everything. My mother has this washer in stainless, the wife and I picked this up and we love it.

Amazing washing machine. This is the second new machine delivered. FIrst one have an overly noisy pump right out of the box. Called LG support who did over the phone diagnostics. Nothing wrong with the electronics. They told me to call Best Buy back to get it replaced as it sounded like a hardware issue. Best Buy immediately replaced it. This machine balances it self, great, right? Well it would be if it didn't constantly need to stop and do so, by pausing for long amounts of time, spinning in multiple directions and pouring tons of additional water. Usually this will add an additional 30-40 mins to a wash cycle. I've learned that nothing really comes out clean unless I use the heavy duty setting, which is an additional 15 mins. My loads can take about 2 hrs sometimes, so doing laundry for 5 has to be spilt up between multiple days. If you are short, it's very difficult to reach into the machine. The amount of clothes it holds is nice, but it's painful on my chest to reach in and using a stepping stool makes it kind of awkward. This machine also has a locking lid. I wish I could disable it, my children are past the age of climbing into it and it takes like 20 seconds to unlock. After a few years, it doesn't clean as well as it use to.

We bought this about one year ago and the last few months we have been having nothing but trouble. It started leaving detergent residue on our dark clothing so they took more than one wash. The pulsator has popped out of the bottom of the drum several times while washing and now doesn't work. At this point it isn't cleaning our clothes at all. I have tried the tub cleaning function with hot water and vinegar, I have cleaned out the detergent trays and we have checked all the hoses. Of course now it is over the 1 year warranty (which is also a very disappointing warranty period). We always buy LG electronics like TV's, sound systems, speakers, etc so we were expecting the same quality product but we are extremely disappointed by this washer. Now we have wasted countless amounts of water, time and energy on this thing. Worst washer ever!!

I bought this brand new and its the worst washer i have ever used. The cheap ones from apartments can do 100x better than this. Heres why: - i cant even put a full load of laundry in because it wont spin. Itll spit out an error code that says the drum is uneven so the manual says to adjust it yourself! - when i put it on spin only, if the drum feels uneven itll keep pouring water out to move the clothes so it can adjust the clothes to get even (waste of water!!!) the timer will say 19 minutes for the next hour cause itll keep pouring water out, then drain it but then realize its still uneven then do it again until it spits out an error code!!! I have ended up taking drenched clothes out to spin partial loads at a time. I really dont know how Lg can even put a product like this on the market. I swear the cheapest washer could do 100x better. I dpent some more money cause i thought it was efficient but it turns out i use a lot more water with this washer than any other. Its ridiculous!
