Love this Machine!

After having problems with my Whirpool machines and no longer impressed with their overall quality, I decided to go with another brand. For my new washer and dryer, it was between Samsung and LG. I LOVE Samsung products and mostly buy Samsung for all of my electronic needs.; however, when I saw this LG machine, I was impressed. Iam truly pleased with the purchase. The machine does an outstanding job of washing clothes and comforters. My clothes truly look cleaner than they did with my old agitator. I use TIDE HE powder and could not be happier. It is so quiet that I thought it had stopped working when I left the laundry room. You cannot hear it agitating. The machine is easy to use and is quite efficient. At the end of the cycle, it plays a melody. A nice feature instead of that loud buzzing on the old machines. One minor issue: The bleach dispenser had kept filling with water after the cycle was completed. I called Best Buy repair as I had the extended warranty. Unfortunately, even after I provided my model and serial numbers, the technician to whom I spoke did not look at my account and assumed that I had a front loader. He told me this was "normal" but to empty out the dispenser. He provided me with mis-information on how to remove it . Well, needless to say, the part broke and I was not happy. I called Best Buy, spoke with a Public Relations Defender and within a day, I had a new machine delivered. This was my first major purchase from Best Buy as I have always bought from PC Richards. I was impressed with Best Buys customer service, quick turnaround to get me a new machine, and their desire to make me a pleased customer. I also purchased the matching dryer. It is amazing as well. There are many features and it dries quickly without wrinkles! I love the steam feature! It is my hope that these machines will last for years to come and that I will be a pleased and loyal LG client. I highly recommend these products.

I bought this washer in November to replace an older 3.0 cubic ft top loader. With 5 young children my laundry room is very busy so we bought this to try to help. My first load(after reading the instructions) came out awful. I pulled out at least 2 items with mud and caked on food. These were not stains. I rinsed them off in the sink and the items immediately came out clean. The problem was not enough water in the machine. After reading every review out there and tweaking and retweaking, I have figured out how to make this machine work and work well for our family. After I load the clothing in, evenly distributing it as I go for balance, I put a container in my laundry tub and turn on the tap. While the tap is running I add the detergent to the washer. Then I dump that water from the container into the washer. It's only about 1/2 gallon of water maybe. This tricks the washer into using more water because of the added weight. I also have found that using the towels setting works the best because it includes an extra rinse. You can add an extra rinse to any setting though. My kids' clothing comes out very clean now. Is it worth all of that work? Well I'm doing less loads a week by far. Some days I don't even do a load. Crazy! I can fit sheets from all of the children's bed into one load. Very nice. I would recommend this machine but just beware that if you want to save water and think this machine will do it, it will but your clothing will not be very clean. I suppose with less loads I am saving on electicity though. :)
One more thing: This machine is rather noisy. Not crazy loud but weird. It sounds like a plane preparing for take off at first and it seems to change its mind and shift gears constantly. Our laundry is upstairs and near the nursery and my daughter sleeps through it so its not too bad.

I usually do not write reviews, although, I do read all of them. This washer is GREAT! I replaced the LG front load TROMM that was "top of the line in 2008", however, I was not aware of all the "maintenance" and care that was required for a front loader. My towels were always smelling like a "wet dog" or moldy.
I am SO happy with this machine, it is literally the BEST washer that I have ever purchased (and we move a lot and have to replace appliances). I can fit my king size fluffy comforter in it and it actually comes out clean and does not need to go in the dryer for 6 hours.
Lots of options. Perfect for my family. And yes, there is no steam option, that is the next level up and another 200.00. I do NOT need this option. In fact, having the other washer, I realized that I only use 3 of the settings anyway! The best is, the washer just went on sale for another $100.00 off, so back to Best Buy for a credit!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

I went in a month ago expecting to get the previous model of this washer, but bought this one as it was on sale for less. I can't believe how well it works! It is so much quieter compared to my old agitator model that died on me. I love the little tune it plays to signal it is done, versus a loud buzzer. It has so many different cycle options it can be confusing at first, but reading the manual really helps clear that up. It uses just enough water, and you can watch the clothes being washed through the clear glass lid. My towels are clean now, whereas my old washer had trouble truly cleaning and sanitizing them. The machine spins them so much that some clothes are practically dry when you take them out, thus the time needed in the dryer is much lower than before. I have not had any problems with any clothes getting too twisted or buttons coming off. I've washed both of our king size comforters in here with no problem at all washer wise. I just forgot that we did not replace the dryer, so they did not fit in there! I cannot wait to buy the matching dryer for this washer. I absolutely love this washer!

I'm not much on reviews, however this machine deserves one. Overall i read a lot of reviews. I was scared that all of the negative reviews would come true with my machine. Since I've had my washer I have tested it with every variable possible. Everything from my nasty muddy work clothes, to small loads, full loads to the top, bedding and sheets. The water level is always perfect. The muddy work clothes are always clean and dirt is never left behind in the washer. its never stopped for and "unbalanced" load since I've had it. i couldn't be happier. i hope this helps some people who are doubting all the band reviews. I've had an LG tv for nine years. it still looks amazing as the day i bought it. I also own an LG vacuum. Any part that has ever broke over the years (roller, belt) they have replaced with no questions asked and sent within a couple days. i can vouch for LG's customer service as the best and easy I've ever dealt with.

Just had my washer delivered 3 hours ago and i am already sending it back for exchange. First let me say that the first load of laundry (a queen size quilt) went through the wash perfect. Right amount of water, didn't twist, nearly dry by the time it was done. Quilt dried in no time and without wrinkles YEAH! Second load was a king size quilt, machine was making some strange noises and in the wash cycle it threw a code EF which showed a faulty fill valve and to call for service. Called Best Buy and they told me they don't service LG washers and they connected me to the LG service center. They diagnosed the problem as the load being out of balance and had me unplug it to reset it. Plugged it back in and put on rinse/spin and it worked fine but did make a few weird noises. 3rd load was a very small (barely 5 inches tall) load. Started up just fine, right amount of water to wash but during the wash cycle it filled up with water to within 3 inches of the top of the drum. Now I don't know much about He machines but this did not seem like water saving to me. Also it make a noise like a hive of wasps inside. Called LG back and the tech was not very knowledgeable about the machine. When asked if it was normal to fill this high she just said to schedule service and as there were no LG service centers in Redding (something Best Buy failed to mention when i bought this) it would take 5 days before someone could call be and tell me who to contact. When asked for a supervisor i was told they were gone for the day and to call back tomorrow. So much for customer satisfaction. Called Geek Squad and they said to call Best Buy and exchange the machine. As of right now I am not very happy but maybe i just got a lemon. Just wish someone knew how these were suppose to operate so i knew if this was normal or not. Will repost after i get the new machine.

We bought a pair including the Top Loading High Efficiency WT5070CW washer approx 5 years ago. Right from the beginning, we could never wash a load without four or five unbalanced interruptions. When the unit fills, the water never gets above the clothes. If left alone, it will wash the clothes on top while dry. For a time, we used to pour pitchers of water in from the sink to fill the washer. Then we learned how to trick the washer into putting enough water in by shutting off the washer when the water stops filling and starting again from the beginning. That will double the water quantity. Problem is that sometimes we forget and miss the right opportunity and waste lots of time redoing. After five or more unbalanced error codes, we get frustrated and just decide to run spin only to get it over with. However, after two minutes on "Spin Only," it adds water, every time. To spin only, we have to run it for the two minutes while watching it and shut the washer off after about 2 minutes (before the water adds) and start the spin only again, for another 2 minutes.....multiple times. I have tried resetting the control unit a few times with no success. When we first got the washer, we couldn't believe this and called for warranty support. When the service man came out the second time, he said he would be happy to replace the control unit, but that it wouldn't help.....since this happens with all units of this model. We had him replace the controls anyway and nothing changed. The salesman at Best Buy told us this washer was the best on the market. Obviously, he was not actually informed. We have finally had enough and are looking for a new washer starting today. You can bet that it won't be an LG from Best Buy.

I purchased this washer, along with the dryer, in 2011. In 2012, we sold the set with our home and moved into a new place with an old Sears washer and whirlpool dryer. I could not wait to return to Best Buy and purchase the set again. It was delivered this afternoon at 4 o'clock, and by 9:30pm my laundry was done for the week. Yes, for the entire week.
King size sheet set, and pillowcases can be done in one load. The capacity is amazing and it still cleans all the clothes very well with minimal water. The spin cycle is incredible which means less drying time.

I originally wanted the LG washer and dryer two steps down, but it was not available for a month! The mid-range set had controls on the top rather than on a raised back, which left our hoses and faucets exposed. So I reluctantly selected the LG Ultra Large Capacity Washer because it would be delivered in a few days and could handle comforters.
This is a beautiful set, with stainless steel interiors and myriad options. Being short, I need to stand on a stepstool to reach small items in the bottom of the tub. We like the water efficiency, but each wash takes an hour unless you want to select quick wash. So far our clothes and towels are coming out very clean. My husband complains about the noise as the washer changes cycles, but it doesn't bother me.
We have had it only a week, and I hope it continues to work well.
One suggestion: remember to ask the installers to attach the appliance door on the side you want it. We did not ask, and we had to have a service call to attach the dryer door on the other side.
Also, the lovely sales associate who waited on me cautioned that if you put a comforter in the washer, do not put other items like sheets or towels in with it.

bought both washer & dryer set. This is our 1st purchase of HE washing appliances. Overall nice set, plenty of cycles & cleaning options, huge capacity tub. Depending on cycle expect around an hour to complete. Even with high spin, machine does not "walk" or move excessively. Have not had issues with clothing not getting clean. My biggest issue is when the units were delivered. The delivery was excellent, hardly knew they were here with new ones placed & old ones removed. However, we had bought the new vent tubing for the dryer, the exsisting was very old. The installer told us the new vent tubing was too short & couldn't be used. Seriously this has never happened before??? Solution, hook up a brand new dryer to the exsisting vent tubing. Really! I would have thought they would keep couplers & spare tubing for instances when this occurs. I guess not. Best Buy was fine, credited me $$ for the unused piece & appologized. That was the only part that annoyed me.

This LG washer is my first toploader and I'm very pleased with the results. The machine is very quiet. It is getting the clothes clean with less water. The number of loads per week that I wash has been cut in half. I am able to combine loads that had to be seperated before. This machine does NOT twist the clothes into knots. The spin cycle is so efficient that the clothes are barely damp when the cycle is complete. The little tune at the end of the cycle is also pleasant.

I had to replace a 20 year old whirlpool set and was happy to get a bigger washer since my household does about 10 + loads a week. If you are short you will need a step stool to retrieve stuff from the botom of the washer. It seems to take longer than my old one but it might be me. You have to shake out clothes before putting in dryer as the get spun tight. When you put in heavy things (blankets, jeans, towels) the load sometimes gets off balance or doesn't add enough water. All and All its a good washer.

I love my new LG washer (and LG dryer). I was only going to purchase a dryer until we saw the LG washer. I could not believe all the options and how huge the wash tub was. It had been almost 17 years since I bought my last washing machine and it was still working well.
My husband talked me into getting both LG washer and LG dryer.
One of the great options on the washer, is the spin cycle option. Extended spin cycle was one of the options I had hoped for in a washer. The load sensor is impressive. I really like the lock feature when the washer is running. When the wash is finished, there is a chime signal with volume control.
My clothes have come out very clean and "just" damp. The washer actually takes up less room than my old washer. The noise level is very low.
I e-mailed photos to my kids and sister to introduce them to our new additions to the family. I love doing laundry. Did I mention I love my LG washer? Really.

I did my research for over a month before purchasing these. I DID NOT want front loaders BC all my friends have issues with them. These are AWESOME! I have 4 kids ranging from 14 to a newborn and this washer is easy to use and cleans PERFECTLY! It's fast, super quiet, and has cut my laundry days in half. Love these!

I was skeptical about purchasing a washer without a center agitator in the middle. My first wash load quickly squelched my concerns. The wash came out super clean. The washer has excellent controls. The tub size is very large. The glass top lid is nice because you can see the action! This washer is also extremely quiet! Thumbs up!

I love the way the lid closes slowly on its own. No more loud crashes when you accidentally let it go! My clothes smell so much better and are noticeably cleaner! It's so quiet I sometimes have to double check to see if I started it. After the spin cycle, it feels like my clothes are almost dry! And I got it for a steal!

We had a regular top loader with the agitator inside. I decided to try this one and love it. It took a while to realize everything should be processed with a "low" spin cycle. The capacity is amazing! My clothes always come out clean and it definitely only uses as much water as is needed. The glass lid is really fun too. We also purchased the matching dryer. If my clothes are really wrinkled from the spin cycle. I just run them through the steam cycle after they're dry.

This washer is dope yo! We fit this super giant thick queen comforter that before could only take to the dry cleaners. That was a great day....You can't want for nothing when you own this MERCEDES of all washers. Normally I wouldn't give 2 shakes of a lambs tale about a washer, but this LG made me a believer. Pick up the matching dryer if you really wanna have it goin on!
