Customers commend the 4.9 Cu. Ft. 12-Cycle High-Efficiency Top-Loading Washer for its large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, quiet operation, and ease of use. Many appreciate the effective spin cycle, resulting in faster drying times. However, some users find the deep wash tub challenging to access, particularly those of shorter stature. The convenient features are also frequently praised.

I write this review with truth and honesty. This washer simply does not clean. So many times my clothes comes out dirty or with stains. One particular white skirt that I always washed with care, first time I use this machine, ruined. This washer is a major disappointment. It is so hard to get clothes out because its so deep so if your short... you're out of luck. It does not fill up with water, its so little water. It takes HOURS to wash your clothes for them to come out DIRTY. I also have to pull out clothes and rearrange them manually in order for the machine to proceed washing or rinsing. It says it can wash big loads but not true, it cannot handle the weight. It starts to go unbalanced and struggle to move the clothes and clean. Come out with spots on my clothes!! I will never buy a LG product again. EVER... Its been a pain in my life and it hurts because it cost so much money. I do like the DRYER a lot. Great product, but washer has been a huge mistake!!

I did my research on this model and it must have been working out well for most, but I was not one of those lucky ones. About a month ago I got an error code 1E midcycle. Could turn it off and start again, but it would error at the same point in the cycle - with basically clean clothes only sopping wet. Same thing happened with multiple cycle types (i.e. rinse and spin, spin only, quick wash cycle, etc.). Have had bad luck getting repairs depite buying the extended warranty. They have 2nd party contractors do this repair work, and they're coming from far away 1 1/2 hours. So they wait until the parts come in they think they might need, then call me to schedule a day that will work for them to be in my area. This first guy was a total jerk, didn't believe there was anything wrong, replaced a valve, wouldn't stay for a cycle to show the error. Back to best buy, they found someone else, also 1 1/2 hours away. He is now ordering different parts, one of which is on backorder through LG. Hmmm, a replacement part is on backorder, somethings going wrong in other peoples' machines too. So back to the laundromat tomorrow for the 5th time since this all started. What a pain! And don't even get me started on what a horrible investment the extended warranty through best buy is!! I'd have been better off on my own, calling appliance repair folks from the phone book!

15 months after I purchased this machine - 3 months out of warranty the washer will not run. The door lock error keeps flashing. i looked up the error on the internet and discovered that I needed a new door lock assembly so I ordered one. But I could not get anyone to send me instructions on how to open the washer so I could install it. So I called a sear's repair guy and he worked off instructions on his computer and her repaired it. I paid him $175 and the part cost by $30. A $200 repair after only 15 months is ridiculous. Do not buy this machine.

Worst Appliance Purchase Ever

Wish I could return this washer we purchased several months ago. It's enormous so I figured I could at least wash a normal load in it... Wrong. If I put more than 1/4 of the tub-height in laundry it goes off balance every time. Then, for the next 4 hours, this "energy saver" fills the tub to the top with more water, shakes a bit, spins, goes off balance -- fills the tub to the top, shakes a bit, spins, goes off balance again... then finally after my septic tank is overloaded with wasted water, it gives me an error message that it's off balance and shuts off. I then have to take the sopping wet clothes out and wring them by hand. What's off balance is the construction of this massive beast. I'm 5 ft 6 inches tall and I cannot reach the clothes on the bottom of the tub without stepping on my tip-toes, the tub is so deep. It takes an enormous amount of space for no good reason. I can't even run a full load. On occasion it has taken 8 hours to run 3 small loads of clothes - and I'm extremely careful loading the machine to prevent it from going off balance. Bottom line - I absolutely hate this machine. It was the worst purchase we've ever made.

I loathe this washer. It hasn't worked right since day 1. It was so bad that they extended my warranty and still could not fix it. They have replaced the motor, rotor, motherboard (twice), power cord and countless other parts. Save your money. Buy another brand. I am going shopping this week for a new one #Its only been 20 months since I bought the LG) and will breathe a sigh of relief when this one is taken to the DUMP, where it belongs! I wouldn't recommend it to my friend or my enemy!
