Let me start by saying how much research I did about this machine! I am not an impulse buyer and looked at this thing many times over a 6 month period, comparing it to many others. I finally bit the bullet while they were on sale and purchased the sidekick pedestal washer along with the dryer and it’s pedestal. Delivery and set up are a must... this is very heavy, especially when it’s attached to the sidekick pedestal washer. I can tell you also to plan for about 4 to 5 inches of space behind for the hoses to the washer, pedestal and dryer (steam). I would also recommend the steel braided hoses with a 90° elbow at the end to reduce the space required. Even though the delivery crew leveled them, I had to fine tune the level a bit. Now when they (washer and dryer) are running, there is not a bit of shake. We’ve had these for a month now (since Feb ‘19) and couldn’t be happier. The 5.2 cu ft is impressive and you will find yourself doing larger loads...saving time and money. It is as quiet as advertised but the chime at the end of cycle is not too loud. We’ve connected them through the Smart ThinQ app and have been impressed with it. You will get a notification on your phone and Apple Watch that the cycle is finished (see attached picture). We’ve used the delay start several times and it is also a nice feature ( load at 10pm, delay start so the load is finished around 6am (wake up to a finished load and put in the dryer)). The Turbo wash also does a great job for most of our clothes with only a 40 minute cycle. Overall, highly impressed with this pair (wma9000hva) and believe it’s the best on the market right now. Side note: we bought the 5 year warranty too.

After 40 years of dealing with top loaders and plenty of trouble from a year old competitors brand purchased from a big box store we went ahead and tried these front loaders. We wash a lot of bulky items and these machines had the capacity to handle it effortlessly. Very efficient with detergent too as you only need a quarter size amount to do a load. Both washer and dryer are very quiet. We have only had them for two weeks but so far we are very satisfied with our purchase. Geek squad also did a great job on the installation.

This is a very nice washer. It is much like the more expensive signature series from LG, it just doesn't have the full touch screen. This is still wifi capable and is the largest size LG offers. It has literally every bell and whistle you could get on a washer. It is very efficient. I did not end up getting the stands because of the expense actually. It is $500-700 for the washer depending on if you get it on sale. Plus another $350 for the drawer stand. That is more than most people spend on their washer and dryer combined. I realize that this pair can be upwards of $4000 all said and done, but honestly, for that money they should throw the bottom washer in anyways. Samsung has a model that is similar, and its built in their washer to begin with and on top to boot. This is very nice, and I didn't want the Samsung washer, I thought this one was much more appealing anyways. I got the extended warranty, although I have never had an issue with my previous high end LG washer and dryers except for the lint trap was junk. This one is much more robust and does not look like it will fall apart like the last one did. I must say that previously LG would charge you for every little thing. They did not care what model you had or how much you spent. There was no customer loyalty. I wanted the white ones that would match my cabinets but grey was the only color available. They are big, really big, in comparison to other units. Be aware of that, and do measure. I can just open the laundry room door with the washer door closed. I feel like someday, it may happen that they bash together when someone isn't thinking about it. We will see.

Read customer reviews and Consumer Reports reviews of washers and dryers this time around. my last purchase 5 years ago of another major brand washer and dryer didn't work out as well so I decided to be more cautious this time around. My other purchase had me repairing the dryer twice in two years after the warranty expired. This washer not only gets top marks for performance from Consumer Reports but comes in at the top of the reliability predictor. So far we love it, great features and even tells you when loads are done from the app. Just make sure you measure before it gets delivered as this model is bigger than than most other front loaders. We had to raise our wall mounted laundry cabinets about 5 inches to accommodate the increased height. it was bigger by 2-4 inches on almost every dimension over our last set with the sidekick on the washer and pedestal drawer on the dryer.

This is a very large, quiet and efficient washer. I was most impressed with how well it actually washed clothes. Far superior to other Samsung and whirlpool front loaders I’ve had previously and far better than any top loader out there. The connectivity is a nicety that will hopefully even improve connectivity and user functions with further software updates in the coming years. Very pleased with my purchase

This washer is massive inside and out. You won't have any issues washing anything with this monster of a washer. It is quiet also. I can't even hear it from the next room. My wife loves her new LG machines. The Geek Squad technicians did a great job of connecting everything up.

It cleans so quietly and then plays a tune when it is done, There is no soap residue on the clothes and the size of the drum is wonderful. I'd highly recommend both this item as well as Best Buy to anyone who need a new washing machine! The delivery and installation were White Glove! Thank You!

Excellent product! We have the lower version of this for more than ten years and bought another set last April. It is much better this time and works great with pedestal.

The product looks great and sits tall on the extra base! The door is slightly odd as the controls are built in the door. I think I just need to get used to this design. Measure twice!! We had to hire a contractor to move the cabinets to fit the units and extra base. Very tall!!

Love my new washer best investment ever made it has everything only thing is the remote to control Machine from phone does not stay on you have to turn on all the time. That’s a bummer

Don’t buy. I had this washer for <2years. poorly made. If u do buy- buy the warranty- 1 yr warranty only…starts breaking down after…not sure how it short circuited causing the main board and noise filter to die. $700 to replace. Might as well buy another one- $$$ down the drain- My first time buying LG product. This scarred me for life- never again.

We upgraded from a 10yr old Kenmore Elite front loader. This LG is larger and quieter. Love the lighted stainless tub and all of its features and wash cycles. This is the most efficient washer in terms of electricity and water used according to energystar. This unit is quiet and vibration free at 1300 rpms during the spin cycle. The most noise that's made is during emptying after rinse. It has nothing to do with the washer, the noise is coming from the water being dumped into the drain. Even when the washer and sidekick are running together, the. noise level is very low. All of the reviews saying that it's not Apple IOS compatible, well it is now. I did a search on google for the Smart ThinQ app and downloaded from LG rather than Apples App Store. Washer and dryer connects quickly. The app allows full function of the washer and dryer and all of its settings from the app. You even get alerts when the load is done and you can watch the progress of your wash cycles.

This LG is the most innovative Washer on the market today with steam, 14 wash cycles, the optional Side Kick Washer-in-a-Pedestal & so much more! It cleans the clothes thoroughly with no drama or difficulties, no leaks, loud noises or smells. This is a gorgeous machine, with the controls & expansive display on the door. It is the quietest Washer & the highest rated Energy Star Washer on the market today. I love how it plays an upbeat tune instead of the old BEEP, BEEP! of our other appliances! Only one complaint: The WIFI sets up but on iOS devices, all you can do is to turn the machine off, once it is running. iOS was clearly an afterthought, in fact the instructions state it does not support Apple iOS. This is inexcusable for a product that lists for $1,799. Other than that one complaint, it stays balanced, sips energy & runs quiet & true!!

I really did not want to spend this amount of money again on a front loading washer but I purchased a top loading washer and even after running a wash cycle five times my cloths and pet bedding was still dirty. This is when I knew the only kind of washer that truly get cloths clean are front loading washers. I was angry when I purchased the very top of the line Samsung front loader and paid $3,000. It broke after just three years. Back in the day washers would last 10 to 15 years but no washer these days regardless what kind you buy last that long. This washer is the bomb and I like everything about it except when you brush your body up against the washer it turns on. This happens constantly because I have a small laundry room. But the washer is so good it’s not a deal breaker for me.

We normally would choose a Kenmore unit but due to the current state of Sears we went ahead and purchased this unit which is the sister unit to the Kenmore Elite. The Good: Huge Capacity, makes it awkward when only washing 5 pair of jeans for you feel you are wasting time and water to do such a small load Whites, It has made even the dingy of whites white again Cycles, So many you cant figure out which one you really need to use Color, clear coated metal is a real nice touch. Hope it hold up to the abuse of life. The Bad: The slide doors on the top of the washer and dryer are very flimsy. I see these being a week point in the life of the units. The built in handles on the side of the washer with plastic inserts fall out when there is a heavy off centered load in the washer. They pop back in but really? The touch screen controls are so touchy all you have to do is get close and they come on. This would not really be a problem but our laundry room is also our main entry for us, so they are always getting brushed. Overall I can say I am satisfied with these units and hoe we will be for years to come. I did however purchase the 5yr extended plan just in case. It is cheap insurance for an expensive purchase.

We were looking for a new washer/dryer set and this model was something of an impulse purchase in that we spent a little more than we wanted to, but the extra few bucks spent have been more than worth it... this washer has been a complete game changer! Our previous washer was at least fifteen years old, and this model kicked us into the 21st century in a BIG way! We're now washing twice the volume of clothing per load than we used to, we're using less water per cycle, and getting longer life out of our detergent. The user interface is very intuitive and not at all difficult to comprehend, the quality of the wash can't be beat (our black lab's hair used to be an issue, no longer), and I particularly like the forward-facing door on the bottom of the unit granting me easy access to clean out the filter - something I've never enjoyed on a washer that I've owned. The two pieces of advice I'll give are to leave the door cracked after the load is done to let excess moisture on the seal dry (to prevent mildew build-up), and to consider purchasing a pedestal - while it's not hard to bend over to open the unit the drum is DEEP and it can get awkward reaching into the back for the one stray sock. And unadvertised added bonus: turn on the drum light during a cycle, sit back, and watch... it's a zen-like experience.
