Customers are enthusiastic about the picture quality, color, and curved screen of the 55" Class OLED TV. They appreciate the excellent contrast, easy setup, and sleek design. While some find the remote control to be unique but not to their liking, others feel that the TV is expensive.

After doing much research and reading various test reviews, I pulled the trigger and purchased the 9100. My current t.v.s are the Samsung Plasma E6500 and Samsung HU8550 series. I used to own the Panasonic Plasma 65Vt60, but had to part with it. Going back to the 9100, it has place itself among the the picture quality of the VT60 in my opinion. Blacks are black, and the colors pop off the screen at you. I followed some calibration setting from various sources online, and so far I am enjoying it. If you decide to get one, take the time to play with the settings and turn down the back light. Also, take time to properly "break-in" the set by avoiding too much letter box movies and playing video games with too much static images that are stationary on the screen. Like a plasma, it does suffer from image retention and burn-in. Just remember, image retention will disappear, while burn-in can be permanent. Sounds like a lot, but if you ever owned a plasma set, it is pretty much the same. Remember, that every one has a different opinion about everything. Do some research on your own and get one if you decide to. I only gave 4 stars for the review, because there is no such perfect t.v. out there, even though this set is very close. I think you will be pleased with your purchase.

This is not like a TV most of us have grown up watching. This is truly the sharpest TV i've ever seen. The TV-watching experience is different because I feel like I am not only watching a show but admiring the details of production. The TV is curved, but the curvature disappears while you're watching a show, movie, or game. The curvature makes it look like you can walk right onto the set. Fun TV and I am so glad we purchased it.

All of the TV's I've ever owned, this by far is the best TV I've ever purchased. The picture is crystal clear and sharp. It's stylish and looks great in my living room. I absolutely love everything about this TV. I highly recommend buying the LG OLED TV over any Samsung TV.

This screen has changed how we watch movies. The oled is unmatched contrast makes movies look amazing.. watching Harry potter series with the kids has been amazing. Was money well spent and I highly recommend this product to anyone looking at flat screen TV's.. spend the money and enjoy how real it makes movies look. "it's like looking through a window."

This TV is absolutely and stunningly beautiful. It has a great picture, internet connectivity and works like a dream. The only thing is the remote has a mouse like cursor and sometimes that detracts from watching something if you happen to hit it during a show but otherwise it's a great purchase!

Upgraded my 7 year old 40" LCD TV. After configuring the picture settings, adjusting the ones I found on the internet, I have a beautiful picture. I have DirecTV and picture is great.
The bad? With older movies, this TV makes me notice things a little more than I used to. Just so much detail with a larger screen. Guess it was bound to happen with the advancement of TV.
One thing to note for mounting, I have a entertainment unit that allows me to hang the TV. The mounting bracket has a long flat edge. This TV has a hump near the middle of where the mounting bracket would go. I put a washer between TV and mounting bracket and it flushed right up. Don't blame me if you mess yours up but this has survived my boys, 6 and 2 years old, playing around it.

I have had many tv's over the past 40 years and as advertised the LG OLED is the best tv ever made, I believe. The last Pioneer Plasma was excellent in every way, and the color saturation on that was perhaps deeper, but the contrast on the LG is clearly superior. No reservations - buy this tv you will be overjoyed every time you turn it on.

Had the Tv for about a month now. This TV has an amazing picture quality. Sometimes the deep blacks can get in the way so you can't see what is happening, but overall the deep blacks do make a difference for a better picture quality. Haven't noticed much pros/cons with the curved screen its aesthetically pleasing.. Menu navigation and Settings navigation is super easy. Voice recognition on the smart remote is pretty good.

A little small, but quality is by far superior to LED backlit. Really is a question of, "Bigger vs. Better?"

Excellent Picture, Poor Build Quality, Dead TV

Like others who are reviewing these OLED Smart Televisions from LG, the picture quality is breathtaking. As a Home Theater Enthusiast, I was elated with my 3 month old purchase until about an hour before the Super Bowl game was to start, my 55EG9100 television died. It flashed and went black. I could not get it to turn on again. I immediately called LG and this is where things really SUCK! I did not purchase Best Buy's performance plan, but feel it would have been a similar adventure doing so, as Best Buy will attempt to repair a television before replacing with a new unit. LG outsourced a local repair shop and they diagnosed the television as having a bad screen. The screen component is the majority of the television without some of the internal circuit boards and speakers. After receiving the replacement screen, the tech removed all of the internal parts and placed them on the new screen. Sure the television now works, but the picture quality is terrible: Soft and grainy, motion judder, artifacts, etc. I am not happy with the repair process for a defective screen. I am still fighting to get a new replacement and waiting for LG to call me back with an answer. At this point, I am not impressed with the quality of the television. The internal wiring was duck taped to the internal casing. I attached a photo displaying the internal components so you can see what parts were relocated to the new screen component. If LG does not come through for me, I will never buy their products again! And Best Buy is about to lose a very profitable customer. Elite Plus doesn't mean much these days.

The curved screen adds to the experience. This unit has an excellent, clear picture and good sound. Still trying to get the ARC function to work properly. for now, we are bypassing it with a digital audio cable at an extra cost of $40.00.

I compare this TV too many other high-level brands and there was no choice other than the LG 4K. The OLED was crystal clear and the best contrast I've seen on any television. I would highly recommend this television to anyone who wants top quality in their television experience. I particularly like movies with action and adventure and so does the LG 55 inch 4K .

I was initially blown away by this TV in the store and made the stretch outside my budget to bring it home. Setup was smooth. The remote is fun to use. I get far more OTA channels using the same antenna as my previous TV (not sure why this is but it was a welcomed surprise). Normal antenna shows look great, much better than my last LCD TV but that probably doesn't say much since it a Toshiba from 2007. Bluray looks fantastic - I'm addicted to my local Redbox. Sound from TV is more than loud enough by itself.
All the greatness aside I've come across two issues, 1st is that VUDU, one of the installed apps on the webOS system, doesn't work and it gives me an error about hardware ID. Not really that big of a deal for me since I have netflix and amazon prime and both of those apps work great. Still an annoyance.
The 2nd issue is more frustrating. Sometimes when watching dark scenes there are visible but very faint vertical grey bars that appear in the middle of the screen (about 2-3 inches) wide. They go away when the scene shifts and they are not always present so I'm not sure whats going on here. I haven't had the time to sit on hold with LG to try and resolve the issue.
In the end, neither of these problems caused me to return this unit so either I'm just lazy, don't watch enough TV, or they don't actually bother me all that much....but they might bother somebody else.

The picture is truly excellent with true blacks. I didn't realize the difference it would make, Plus the curved screen make it clear from any angle.
