    Great HD Picture, Complicated Calibration

Like everyone says, the picture is a real improvement over regular LED TVs: deeper blacks, higher contrast, greater viewing angles. Calibrating the TV picture is another matter. LG doesn't supply a manual of recommended steps or static standards that can be used to tweak the picture to be its best. There are lots of opinions out there as to how to set the dozens of adjustments that can be made, but there's no way to know how different my TV is from the one the blogger calibrated.

The LG OLED B7 has the best picture I have ever seen. The blacks are just... black. It's also plenty bright enough for even the brightest room. Colors are as deep as you want them to be. 4K HDR is so good, it takes getting used to. Two drawbacks are a clunky remote, and severe lack of instructions. There are so many settings that can be adjusted, it's dizzying. t's a good thing there's an internet, because LG provides virtually no documentation whatsoever.

Firstly, reviews are going to talk about how a QLED is better. No. Not even close. Secondly, reviews are also going to talk about how it has burn in. Nope. If you are looking for top of the line, nothing better, OLED is for you. If you’re honestly THAT worried about burn in, buy a protection plan that should be purchased with any tv anyway. It’s $360 for 5 years. Most of the reviews that are going to be complaining about “burn in” will either be fake, or people that had their parents buy them the TV and didn’t know how to take care of it. I was hesitant to buy at first but, after having it for 3 months, I can say that the thing is awesome. I would totally recommend this TV to someone that can afford it. Just know how to take care of your things. Playing video games 8 hours a day for weeks straight isn’t taking care of them, and honestly, isn’t doing your body any favors either.

I LOVE this TV. For those who are worried about burn-in...I have used this TV as a monitor for my computer since November 2017...It's now May 2019. I leave the computer running a lot...anywhere from 12-18 hours a day, and as of today there are absolutely no signs of burn-in. The only thing I do to protect the TV is set the taskbar to auto-hide. If you are in the market for the best TV...OLED is the way to go. One last thing, because OLED's aren't as bright as LED's they are more susceptible to light pollution. By that I mean if you can control the lighting in the room, than OLED's the way to go...if it’s going to be in a very bright room and you can't darken the room...you'll probably be better off with LED. You will be blown away by the colors, contrast, and detail of this TV…as of now, it’s the best I’ve ever seen.

After having the TV for a month, I have to say this is the best 4K tv I have ever seen. I have a Samsung also and its not in the league of OLED. I do not not have the words to describe the blacks. You just need to buy and enjoy this tv. Also I decided on the OLED55B7A. I have a Bose lifestyle sound system so the OLED55B7A worked for me. Buy the OLED55B7A to save some money. The HDR works great with my Apple 4K tv. The only issue, I wish webos and the remote was more intuitive. WebOs works but you can be frustrated with interphase at time switching from Apple TV to cable box or gaming system. But as for picture this the best. I really do not know how LG could make it better.

As promised, once everything is set up properly the picture quality is absolutely fantastic. HDR produces amazingly bright highlights and deep colors. Most people say the HDR is a bigger deal than the resolution, but I think that with appropriate material (eg Planet Earth II) the extra resolution is also pretty stunning. However, I took off a star because if you just go with the out-of-the-box settings, you get pretty poor results. I think I had read that one should turn off power-saving modes to really see the HDR benefits, so I tried to do this immediately. However, I'm pretty sure that for some reason the TV didn't start using HDR the first few times I viewed HDR material on it (you will see an HDR icon in the corner when it goes into HDR mode), and I'm not even sure what I did to make it start using it. The TV also produced severe and distracting visual artifacts around anything moving at all quickly, which I eventually got rid of by turning off the TruMotion feature (there may be a less severe fix; I will have to look more into it). On a more minor note, I'd like if it had a bit more support for legacy connections, especially component video.

I did my research before buying this tv, just like you’re doing, and the reviews were impressive but you can’t really appreciate just how good the picture quality is until you bring it home, set it up, and watch your shows on it. It may sound gimmicky since it’s mentioned over and over again but the blacks on this tv are amazing. The contrast that produces really makes things pop. Just a note, when you first turn the tv on you will have to play around with the picture settings. Out of the box, at least in my experience, the picture was too dark and the backlight was dimmed too much, but you can easily fix this by toying around with the power savings setting and the picture mode. If you’re looking for a new tv this should be a pretty simple choice, and the prices have dropped so much that it’s easier to justify.

Love My 55" OLED LG TV

Its only been a couple weeks but so far I love just about everything about my new OLED LG tv. I have a sound bar but actually like the sound from the tv better without it. Love the color and pretty easy to use. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars was I wish the magic remote could also change channels from my cable. From what LG said, it was cause of Cox Cable's box not them.

I’ve done so much research on a great overall tv for watching 4K and playing video games on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. This tv is so thin and looks incredible. I don’t think I could ever go back to anything less than OLED. QLED looks great, but this tv is still way better. As for burn in, I haven’t experienced anything like that. It’s a possibility, but the Xbox interface has preventative measures built in that has the screen constantly have something going on. Even when I place my controller down to take a short break or have to walk away for a while to do something, I come back and my Xbox has side tiles come out and dims out the rest of the tv. Definitely recommend.

Finally a 4k TV that makes all video look better. Biggest problem with 1080 TV when they first came out was most content was 480. So 480 images looked bad on a 1080. However, technology must have caught up somewhere because this 4k looks awesome. When 4k first came out (not long ago) there was some of this same effect. The tehnology in these new HDTV 4k processors do a great job of making all content look good without the effect of adding the resolution and degredation. Needless to say it's a great TV. No need to comment on colors because this technology oled produces the best picture in the market. This tv replaced a 55w900a Sony TV with native 240hz.

I decided to purchase this 55"TV rather than a 65" 4k non OLED tv based solely on the fantastic picture. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 star rating is due the trouble I had getting the video and audio from my fios box to sync. I would use the delay settings and get things "just right" and then they would gradually go out of sync after abou 10 minutes. After a week of pulling my hair out, I finally found the solution. I had to turn off the Dolby atmos processing and the problem went away. Now I do not have this tv attached to a component stereo system nor even a sound bar, so thee atmos is not really needed. This may not be a problem for those of you who intend to not use the tv's built in speakers, The sound is not very loud using the internal speakers, but adequate for my needs. I really love the picture though.

We upgraded from an aging 42" Panasonic plasma. OLED is the only way to go if you want the vivid color and deep blacks plasma used to be able to provide. This TV is everything I hoped it would be. Brightness is unbeatable, and the resolution is of course excellent. We haven't had much chance to watch 4k content on it (getting an AppleTV 4k soon), but Netflix and blu-rays look amazing. This is the first TV I've ever wall-mounted. Setup was a breeze, and the remote is really cool; it puts a little movable pointer on the screen (like a Wii) that you move around like a mouse and point/click on settings. Overall I'm VERY happy with this purchase.

Walked into BB with the intention of buying just a 4K LG TV somewhere under $1000. A BB employee who turned out to be LG certified had showed me all the LG TVs. After what felt like hours of watching each TV and their settings as well as reading all kinds of reviews and tech tips I decided on an OLED. And WOW was it the right choice! The colors are just unimaginable on the screen. It's very vivid and the smart features are great. Watching 4K content or gaming in 4k has never been better. Day and night difference between a standard HD TV as well as just a 4K. You'll never see darker darks. And you'll never want any other TV again!

We had a previous "4k" Vizio television that this new LG 55" OLED replaced. We were on the fence about purchasing this on sale for 1,499 at Best Buy. After seeing the picture quality we were sold. The 4K OLED screen is simply amazing, and outclasses our old Vizio in every way. The software that the TV has is easy to use and it streams everything perfectly. We have been using our new Apple TV 4k with it, our Nintendo Switch, our comcast cable box, and our gaming PC on this TV. Everything simply looks amazing on this TV! HDR content is especially impressive. It is a lot to spend, but you get a LOT of picture for the price.

I bought this about two weeks ago and it is everything the reviews said it would be. The picture is spectacular. I've only had a chance to play one 4K HDR movie, but it is truly life-like. Even ordinary DVDs look so much better than on my old Samsung, which was actually a good TV itself. The sound is good, though not nearly in the same class as the picture. The only gripe I have is that the menu and remote are very antiquated in their design. Nothing bad, really, but just a fair amount of button-pushing to do anything. It is indeed a minor gripe and I would enthusiastically recommend this set to anyone.

First off, this tv is absolutely amazing! The picture is absolutely stunning with 4k resolution and her powered by the oled technology. The only downside i had was that it was sort of difficult funding the right settings to turn on to make sure I could enjoy all the benefits of 4k hdr.

Returned a Sony X900E for this TV and couldn't be more happy. The picture is simply incredible on this TV; its hard to describe just how nice it is. Almost no tweaking of settings are needed to obtain a perfect picture. The main thing that bothered me about the X900E was its motion handling which although very good for a LED TV it couldn't compare to my Plasma. The OLED handles motion perfectly. I also love the design of the tv, very thin frame and the option menu is very easy to use. If you are considering purchasing this TV just do it; you will not regret it.

The colors are just great on this tv. Having true black (completely off pixels) makes for great contrast as well. The OS is adequate having never used another smart TV before. Mostly intuitive navigation and use with the remote. Being able to use the remote as a pointer is handy though so you don't have to hit the buttons to get around. Super thin screen as well. Was nerve-racking assembling and I am not looking forward to moving with it.

Picture is absolutely stunning, even makes old pre-HD shows look better. Haven’t watched any fast action sports or movies to comment on possible blur. But so far I’m highly pleased. If you are into cutting the cable cord, this smart TV makes it easy. It’s native OS is easy to learn and fairly intuitive. The Hulu Live TV app is currently a little different from what is for iPhone, iPad, or desktop. Netflix and Amazon Video seems to be no different. Ethernet connection makes it simple to add to home network.
