    Amazing Picture

I was debating whether to go with a Samsung QLED or this LG OLED. I decided to go with the LG brand even after I've had a Samsung LED for the last 3 years. What drew me to this TV was the reviews of "Plasma" like black levels. In the Best Buy store the guy showed me how amazing the Black levels were compared to a normal LED or QLED. If you're looking for an amazing picture all around, this is your TV. Be warned about 4k footage too. When we first got the TV we thought something was wrong with it because on Netflix their HDR footage looked like there was "noise" in the picture. It looked like spots moving around. I later found out it's because of the quality of Netflix's "4K" and not the TV. It looks amazing on video games so I knew it wasn't the TV.

    Awesome OLED

As far as the picture goes, stunning. There is simply no comparison to anything less than an OLED. I couldn't be any happier with the display. The trouble with this TV is the software, which is the poorest designed user interface I have ever worked. For example, I am not connected to a TV service provider, so I stream everything. I don't even bother with an external antenna. When I turn the TV, irritating white noise, sometimes. No idea why it chooses to boot to a dead channel. There's no easy way to get it to go away, other than starting up an app. The trick is to get it to default to an app, which once again isn't easy to do. I also get caught in a permanent picture mode, where "something" wants to play in the background when you use the home button. I could go on. It's a very clunky user interface. If a TV detects white noise, at the very least it should mute the station, although an option to boot into an app interface with nothing but choices to click on would be ideal. Similar to Roku, Fire TV, or even a netflix type app. You should be able to disable inputs, like the antenna or cable inputs. Horrendous. LG ought to hire some forward thinking software developers and just start over from square one. Nothing about the user interface is user friendly. I was stuck in a mode when I first turned it on where the TV was saying everything it was doing, which was extremely annoying. "volume 22". "volume 23". etc etc. I had to google a solution to get it turned off, because I couldn't find the setting in the settings. And voice command, in which you talk into the remote, is nearly useless. For example, you can turn the TV off by saying specifically, power off TV. You have to push a button to do this, which is no different from simply pushing the power button. BUT, after saying the command into the remote, another window pops up and asks if you want to turn off the TV. You then have to navigate to the button and click again. Where's the convenience of saying a command if you have to confirm a command? Use the power button. Keep in mind, I'm in IT. It's what I do. No piece of software ever really stumps me. I figure it out. Way too much figuring things out on this TV. The average user will no doubt hate this interface. The user interface is a disgrace, plain and simple. That being said, the magic remote has a great feature with a mouse pointer. It works by moving the remote around. Works pretty good. There's potential to write a really great interface with the base tool. I didn't buy it for the software though, I bought it for the picture quality. Still, very disappointed in the UI. It's awful. I would still recommend this TV for the price, as long as you're hanging a Roku or Fire TV off the unit. If any competitor comes in range of the price of the LG though, LG is going to have a tough time competing on the interface. For now, LG is the only game in town for the price on their OLED. The OLED is totally worth it.

I couldn't be happier with the features and clarity of this set! LG gives you a lot of settings that you can tweak to your personal satisfaction. After researching OLED sets for more than a year, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. HOWEVER, there is one nagging problem that I encountered after having the set for a few days. I decided to watched a movie using HDMI sound, and when it was over, my set completely lost sound. After spending the better part of an hour trying to get the sound back - it finally returned. Yet, two days later, it lost sound again. I researched the problem on the LG web site, and I discovered that the problem was attributed to the old firmware that was in the set when I bought it. Worse, (under General/Software Version) it claimed there was "No updates found." I had to solve the problem by downloaded the firmware update from the LG web site; load it onto a thumb drive; then install it manually. If you buy this set, please make sure you have firmware Version 04.70.36, or you, too, might lose your sound!

I spend a majority of my time gaming. I recently purchased a Xbox One X and really wanting a TV to display what I paid for in the console. I had a 60" 4k (aprx. mid grade quality) and was debating between this LG OLED B7A 55" and the Sony x900e 65". I wasn't confident I'd be happy dropping 5 inches for the superior quality. Few people wish they had a smaller TV. WORTH IT. This marries beautifully with the Xbox One X. It shows what the console really has to offer. Absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone looking to maximize their gamimg experience. Pushing gaming aside. This TV has an incredibe interface for accessing all of the "smart tv" features. Smooth, snappy and intuitive. Lastly the aesthetics are unrivalled. It looks equally beautiful turned off sitting on your entertainment center as it does when veiwing content. Impossibly slim and the bezels are impressivly thin. Overall if you're debating getting the LG B7A. I highly recommend it.

I purchased this television about 5 months ago I have played DVD's, use it everyday for television viewing and have had no problems with the television. The picture is the clearest I have every seen, the blacks are truly black not gray, colors are bright and picture sharp. I purchased it at Costco, 2 year warranty+ 3 year from square trade included + 2 year from Visa = 7 years. Providing I don't break the set by dropping it like the last one this television will be a great purchase.

This TV finally broke. it was my own fault and I ended up dropping it on one of its sides. But it was a phenomenal TV and I would highly recommend recommend purchasing the newer versions. The only downside is these are when it is time to move. It's very awkward to transport these.

Worked well the first 6 yrs, but had terrible burn in and distorted colors down the middle of the screen. Unfortunate, because the picture is still very clear. Remote didn't last as log as I would have expected. Bought a replacement and it didn't work the same as the original.

Can do everything you want with just the remote. It already has a Netflix button and it’s super easy to assign numbers to other streaming services. You can also use the speech talk to type feature to search things up. Resolution is amazing

After months of research I bought this tv and I’m so happy I did. What really convinced me was the review in Ratings.com. They review most popular TVs in the market, and they picked this tv above all others , including those several thousand more expensive. The colors and blacks are amazing. I often find myself rewatching movies and shows just because they look so much better now!

It has the same panel as higher end LG OLEDs, you are only sacrificing the on board sound. Which I don't need because I have the Bose sound bar and subwoofer.. I get compliments on the TV, and even HD looks phenomenal on the TV. The contrast and blacks are incredible. No viewing loss at an angle. And the remote and smart functions are top notch. Highly recommended for the price

The image on this TV cannot be rivaled. I upgraded from a 2011 3D TV. I will miss the 3D but the image quality here makes up for it. Being a gamer it is good to know that there is a chance for image retention. Just run the pixel refresh from time to time and you should be fine.

The built in apps suck. The only ones you may use are Youtube, Amazon Video and netflix. They should add directv now and such, but I don't think they care about that. The worst thing about the TV is the sound. If you go above 35 or 40, the sound fluctuates so much that it's sooooooooo annoying. The system doesn't know what you want to hear, the vocals or background sound so it switches back and fourth so much. The good part of the TV are the black levels. They are so amazing and 120 hertz is perfect for sports. No need for anything above this.

Really cool TV and very clear. For the price it's too sophisticated for me with all the extra setup back lighting etc and returned it. Just went with a lesser model and I'm happy with that.

    Dont buy lg oled

Horrible tv. When it works it is an amazing picture. Within 3 years I have had a burn in (which is extremely common with this tv and happens with normal use) , tv keeps disconnecting from bluetooth, and shuts off randomly. For the price you would think you are getting a quality tv but everyone I know has had issues with lg oled tvs. All different models. If you buy an lg oled tv you will have some major issue. I wish I would of bought the Sony oled tv. I made a complaint to lg and they said they would fix burn in by replacing screen but I would have to pay for service fee. That fee was 350 dollars. Then bluetooth issues followed up. It keeps having issues. Don't waste your money with lg.

    Beautiful picture...awful/cheap manufacturing

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

After finally receiving the approval to purchase an OLED TV, I read many critics and consumer reviews and decided on the 55" LG. I had everything ready to go and when to plug in the optical out cable to my receiver and the spring popped out of the socket on the TV, so I took it back and got another one. Everything was working great for about a month and then I was having trouble with audio and picture drop out, but only when viewing cable television. I thought maybe it was the cable box, so I tried a different box, but had the same problem. Different HDMI cable, same result. Tried my Xbox One and had the same issue. Turns out the HDMI input on the TV is bad and I'm furious. Two of the same exact TV in less than two months, with two different problems, but sharing cheap manufacturing in common. I'll be taking it back and getting a Sony OLED instead.

Fantastic TV that died - TWICE

This is an incredible TV. The picture quality is ALMOST unbeatable with its perfect blacks. Just wish it could get brighter. HOWEVER... The first one I purchased died after only 2 days. It would not power up. The red light on the bottom was on, and when attempting to power on the TV, the light would flash a few times, the screen flashed with weird red lines for a split second followed by a clicking sound, then nothing. LG confirmed it was defective. So I returned it and got a replacement. All was good for a month, then the 2nd one did the EXACT SAME THING. I will say that the staff at my local Best Buy were awesome and very understanding when I brought the 2nd one back. Unfortunately, after this fiasco I had to give up OLED and instead got the Sony X930e which is awesome in its own right and has had no issues.
