Once you go OLED, you will never go back
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only question you have to ask yourself is what size screen you want. So far, so good in mixed use for movies, gaming, and television.

Fantastic TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely amazing TV saw online it was on sale for $1,350.00 so I picked it up in a hurry. Use it primarily for gaming and Netflix. Had to change a couple settings out if the box to get rid of blurring. Have no issues at all with it since then. Make sure you update the software.

One year later, burn-in
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the top of the line LG OLED TV one year ago. This week, I noticed a ghost image of the CNN Logo on every channel, all the time. This is called burn-in. Yes, I watch a lot of CNN, but I watch other stuff too, and I don't watch TV all day long. Geez, I have a real job. So, beware. Google "burn-in OLED TV" before you buy this TV, and note that burn-in is NOT covered in the LG warranty. Bitter pill to swallow. Dang.

Horrible TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first TV review because of two disappointing purchases in a row. This OLED C8 replaced a young Visio that was another disappointment. I have 9 Tv's; 2 Sony, 3 Samsung, 2 Panasonic and 2 LG. I replace TV's frequently with the best available via ratings and reviews. I was going to buy two of these OLED C8s at the same time but I am glad that I tried one first. After a very disappointing first month, I bought a large screen Sony Bravia, which I love, in place of the second OLED C8. This Sony is now my favorite by far, with my large screen 3D Panasonic (in my home theater) a close second. It's now five months with this OLED C8 and I must now replace it. I find that the sound is great with the heavy speakers and the stand directing the sound forward. The OLED 4K picture is also great, but with very limited viewings. The standard HD viewings don't measure up to the Bravia by a large margin. The picture out of the box was deplorable and required many adjustments to be acceptable. The remote is a joke at best with the pointer almost never staying in front of the remote which requires frequent repositioning. The lack of helpful function keys creates additional work when using this remote! Now the 'biggie'. The software in this TV is the worst that I have ever experienced of the many, many Tv's that I have ever owned! Starting with the multiple, very intrusive terms and conditions that must be accepted or you can not use the TV nor its apps. The remote even has its own intrusive terms and conditions that must be accepted in order to use the voice function. Then the frequent updates require intervention, lest you get hounded with on screen messages every time you turn the TV on. I know about the auto updates but have stopped them because I have found stored information reset by the update. I don't want any more updates! Using/viewing the apps is a chore with cumbersome navigating and resetting. My super fast internet speed was checked with the blame placed on the TV. I could go on and on if space permitted!! Bottom line...I will be replacing this very young OLED C8 with another Sony Bravia. Consumer Report got it so wrong!

Extremely disappointing and horrible for gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using a Panasonic VT25 plasma for the last eight years, I thought I had finally found a suitable replacement in the LG OLED line of TVs, but I was wrong. The TV suffers from terrible motion blur that is extremely noticeable when playing games that run at 60fps. Especially when scrolling the camera sideways across the screen (so it's incredibly noticeable in side scrolling platformer games and 2D fighting games like Dragon Ball FighterZ or Super Smash Bros.). The only solution that fixes the motion blur problem is to enable the "Motion Pro" setting, which is LG's name for black frame insertion. But setting this on also dims the overall picture by a LOT. So I tried to increase the contrast picture setting (this increases the brightness of whites in the picture), but then I discovered an even worse problem with the TV—the global dimming. This is something that CANNOT BE TURNED OFF. Depending on the game or game menus you're navigating, this feature can be so aggressive that it turns the TV into a strobe light. Navigating the Nintendo Switch eShop or the menus in Super Mario Odyssey for example causes the TV to dim and brighten back and forth enough that it makes the TV look like it is broken. The only way to reduce the aggressiveness of the global dimming is to dramatically reduce the contrast of the picture, making for an overall picture so dim that it makes my old plasma look bright in comparison. Between the motion problems, the global dimming that can't be turned off, and how dim you have to set the TV to reduce the global dimming, I am on the verge of returning the TV for a refund and going back to my old Panasonic plasma. I will never buy LG ever again.

Beware early failure of OLED Panel
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this TV, the B6 model, for 2 years and 6 weeks and Panel failed - just went black. After contacting LG, they said they had been offering 2 yr extended warranty on this TV - obviously problems with it - but since I was over 2 years - even by just 6 weeks - no warranty coverage. So I just ordered the Sony. Poor customer service and refusal to help out when poor workmanship is the issue...LG just lost a customer. Look at other brands, and get the extended warranty if you order the LG!

Disappointed I will never buy LG again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my OLED LG TV two years ago and it recently broke down on me I don’t know what happened I was watching the game on Sunday and the screen just turn off and didn’t want to turn back on. I took it to Best Buy because I purchased two year warranty. They told me I was two weeks pass my two year warranty so they won’t be able to help me I asked them to give me an estimate and it was $900 so I took it to a mom and pop shop and they quoted me about the same. Called LG to see if they can help me, but they basically laughed in my face they can’t do anything. I just don’t understand how brand new TV breaks down in 2 years it shows that LG TVs are cheap quality but very expensive I paid over $2’000 for it. I had a Sony for over 10 years and then I decided to downgraded to this crappie brand I should’ve had stayed with Sony. It wasn’t even the screen which the sales guy said it usually breaks down first. I’m not going to give them $900 to fix it I will buy another Sony and never give LG my money again. I hope this review helps you decide not to go with LG or at least get the five year warranty .

Still Doesn't work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV worked for about 2 weeks before it started turning off. LG has replaced the mother board, the power supply, and now I'm waiting on a new screen. At some point, just replace the TV (BTW, there's only those 3 parts to the TV). I know OLEDs are a new technology and with that comes some risk, but this is ridiculous.
