The Best of Both Worlds
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been waiting for 5 years to finally purchase a new tv. I have had my current tv for a while now, and I missed the bus on purchasing a plasma tv when they were available. I wanted the amazing picture of a plasma (true black) and the brightness of the LED. This tv clearly delivers that. Movies look amazing on this tv as well as television shows (even commercials) and game consoles. Sports look great as well. NBA looks great and football looks great depending on the camera angle being viewed. When the players are being shown close up, you can see the pores on the faces of players. However, when the sky cameras are used (viewing the entire field from above the stadium) there is a slight bit of distortion around the players. This may be because of the different cameras used to broadcast the game.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great display, but be prepared to exchange it, possibly multiple times, to get one without flaws. This is a true pioneer/panny plasma successor, if you can get a panel without banding, stains, or vignetting. LGs quality control is poor and your chances of getting an acceptable panel on the first try is less than great. The contrast and blacks make it worth the risk. At the end of the day know that it might take 2, 3, maybe 4 tries to get a good one. Hard to give it more than 3 stars because of that.

Worth the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of comparison between tv's on the market before making a purchase. It was very hard to for me to spend the $$ on this tv after I got it installed I was amazed at the clarity of the tv picture and the apps that came with the online hook up. I have had the tv almost a month now and love it even more. The one downside was when I bought the tv it came with a free tv mount and they called and said they will deliver the tv but did not have the mount and it may be weeks to get it. I called LG direct and ordered a mount so the tv could be installed. When they showed up they had a mount that arrived the day before so I had to send mine back for a credit to LG.

Great Picture Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am reviewing this based on the TV, and not necessarily the price. If I consider the price, it would be a 4 out of 5 Stars. This TV is the best and to me a noticeable upgrade besides the clarity of the 4K. Pros: 1) Deep Black Levels 2) Accurate Color 3)Wide Viewing Angle 4)Web OS 2.0 is easy to use and navigate. 5) All HDMI Ports are HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 capable. Cons: 1) Not Vesa Compliant (I Have a regular mount on the wall, and with a few tweaks I am able to mount the LG mount on the wall mount that's currently placed on the wall). Just throwing it out there. 2) TV is not able to pass through 5.1 Audio via optical from HDMI sources. (No go for Sonos, unless your mainly streaming) 3) Only 3 HDMI Inputs.

Great blacks just like my Plasma
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a 50" Panasonic plasma that could not be repaired, so bought a Sony LED 65" after a few days and lots of adjusting could not make the washed out looking picture any better. Went back to the store bought this one instead. Great choice picture is great blacks are great.

OLED is the future
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OLED tvs will eventually replace existing LCD or plasma tvs, like flat screens replaced tube sets. When watching a widescreen movie and not seeing ANY light from the normally gray bars above and below the film, you realize why OLED changes everything. The pure blacks dramatically improve image quality and film viewing experience. This set is equipped with HDMI 2.0a, so HDR from the new Ultra HD Blu-Ray players will integrate with this television. I've already enjoyed HDR from Amazon Prime streaming as well. Highly recommended.

It's all true
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was time to let go of my old Pioneer Elite plasma TV so I chose OLED. All they say in the reviews about LG OLED is true. You can see what each person in the football stands is wearing. The black on the uniforms is BLACK. Colors are luxurious. The picture is so clear that normal broadcast looks 3D; the picture has depth. All of this was from normal DirecTV broadcast. About an hour into viewing the set developed white dots everywhere for a few seconds and then died. Totally dead. No picture no matter what. We are crushed. But we'll return it tomorrow for another one. It's the best TV we've ever seen... as long as it works.

Stunning Picture !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am writing my review based solely on watching HD programming on DIRECTV. The picture looks 3D without it being 3D. Watched both NFL and NBA and they both look great! No issues what's so ever. Can't wait to actually see 4K programming.

Stunning picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv back in 2016 and in 2021 it is still my favorite tv. The difference a good OLED tv makes is incredible. Because it is so good you will see how bad others are, it's a weird kind of cool! We really haven't had problems with it and at this point I don't see a need to upgrade until it dies!

This is the best tv EVER!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is no way to describe how this TV changes the viewing experience. My last set was a Sony flagship and I loved it, but nothing compares with this experience. Sport and all HD broadcasts are great. Once you watch a movie on this, you'll want to go out and get all your favorites-because the immersive, realistic quality of the OLED TV puts you right there. If you can afford it, go buy this now. You will never regret it.

Just became a HUGE "LG OLED TV" fan.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Background: owned 55" Samsung TV (240 refresh rate) and alway got great comments from Friends on Picture. Definitely keeping this unit for another room. I was ready to purchase Samsung 65", 9500 Series----but spent 2 different days in "education mode" learning, comparing differences between 65" Samsung SUHD 9600 And 65" LG OLED 9500. After incredible education, internet study and watching with my own eyes---I selected 65" LG OLED 9500 (Flat Screen Model). Brought it home, set it up side-by-side with my 6 year old Samsung (which noted from above---was already a higher end unit). In normal HD mode, the LG wins out based on color, clarity, etc. but then you turn on some 4k content and "game over". I know Samsung SUHD performs similarly---but LG Colors, Clarity----helped win me over. Important to note: Best Buy Associate in Magnolia Room---(Trevor [tall thin fellow]), did an outstanding job of educating me on OLED (LG) vs SUHD (Samsung). Everything he told me, checked out with what I had already read on internet. Because of this experience, Best Buy moved back on to my list of Favorite Retailers. They had slipped quite a bit in last few years----but I gave them a chance and the knowledgeable Associate, combined with easy order/pick-up process----won back my loyalty. So much so, that 2 days later, I ordered new LG Washing Machine, from Best Buy!!!

BEST TV EVER! WAY UNDERPRICED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV on October 1st 2015 With High expectations and was blown away. I have always known you need to spend to get a quality product so I did not mind the price. After having this TV for several months I can safely say this is the BEST TV to ever exist. LG has underpriced this TV and anyone who wants a quality product should not hesitate to buy it.

Bad upscaler
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality overall is very good, but the 4k upscaler is average at best. Most tv is in 720p or 1080i and when this tv upscales it, it causes a lot of digital noise and blurry edges. It really bad for sports. It constantly goes in and out of focus. I have tried every setting on the tv to see if it improves and calibrated it. LG is sending out a repair tech to see if he can fix it or replace the tv. Very frustrating to have a perfect picture go in and out with blur and digital noise because of a lower end 4k upscaler. For $5000 dollars I am very disappointed in this tv.

Not Worth the $
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying this is a very nice TV with a very nice picture. So why the 1 star? It's because of the price. It's just not worth the extra $2,500 you pay compared to a top of the line Samsung. If it only cost $2,500, then it would be a 5 star TV. I planned to build an entire home theater around this TV, but I probably won't since I rarely watch it. I actually prefer the picture on my Panasonic Plasma from 2008. So instead this unit is relegated to the basement for the PS4. Unfortunately I bought this from an online dealer so I can't return it.

Great Resolution and Color, but Terrible Processor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Panasonic Plasma 60GT50 that ended up with screen burn so my warranty was going to give me a credit to replace it. I first tried the Sony 850D, but the blacks were not even close to being good enough and the sound quality was poor. I tried this LG OLED TV at more than double the price and am not happy with it. Yes, the black levels are better on this TV and the Harman Kardon speakers sounded better than the Sony. The main problem I had was with the processor and motion smoother on this TV. The judder on this TV is horrible. I am not a big fan of the "soap opera" effect when the motion smoother is turned up really high so I try to leave it either off or as low as possible, but this TV has to have the smoothing on to be able to watch it and even then, the judder level is not acceptable. Even with the motion smoothing on I felt like I had to adjust it for each program I watched to get a decent picture. It was extra terrible watching some of the poorer shot quality shows like Dr. Jeff on Animal Planet which was borderline unwatchable. It was making me sick either being juddery or so smooth it looked fake and created blur artifacts around the moving objects. Gotham and Blindspot were also really bad and I had trouble watching them. Blu ray movies weren't as bad, I mainly noticed judder/blur on edges of objects and on peoples faces, but not as bad as on cable (Cox HD). I can't recommend spending this much on a TV with this quality. I even checked to make sure all the firmware was up to date which it was and tried settings from rtings.com and avs forums with no luck. I ended up returning this TV for the Sony 930D and am much happier. The blacks aren't quite as good as oled, but the overall picture quality and processing is much better and I enjoy watching TV again. This whole experience just makes me miss my plasma even more.

Just Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV was amazing on the show room and is even better in my home theater. I use this tv for gaming and movies mostly and it is just stunning to view. The colors are as good as everyone talks about for the OLED. Don't see any LED tv standing up to this one, even the SUHD don't quite match up.

OLED tec finally within the realm of affordability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For prudent "on the edge early adapters" this OLED set fulfills the long awaited for niche in the OLED TV market. Although not a cheap nor a fully mature technology, and with minor quibbles, this TV satisfies the longing for an OLED alternative and with 4K capability at that.. So far I am pleasantly satisfied with my purchase and the performance of my set.

Nice, but missing some things
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as an expected upgrade from my earlier 55" LG 4K TV. I have certainly been impressed with the picture quality. But I wish I would have known that the current version of the webOS software that makes this a Smart TV no longer supports the Skype app. And the LG branded USB camera from my earlier LG 4K TV is not supported on this newer TV. In fact, there is no supported USB camera for this model. And as far as I can tell, no ability to use any alternative for video chat. Yes, I know that I can still watch amazing content. But I used Skype on my earlier system all the time, and it's annoying to lose those features. I'd give it a higher rating without these issues.

Great Picture but has PROBLEMS!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4K Picture is great!! But for the price of this tv it has issues. First is the dark edges noticable on some scenes. The 3D SUCKS!! 3D has crosstalk issues!! 3D is blurry at times. Not worth the $5000!! TV will be going back. Shame cause the tv looks amazing except for these issues.

Excellent TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV. Best picture I've ever seen. The only issue at first was the motion blur since Im used to multiple plasmas in my home, but adjusting the picture settings (even if I have to do it a lot) easily fixes the problem everytime.
