I got my tv and my son and I put the stand on it and fired it up right away. Set up took just a few minutes, it might have taken less time if I read the instructions, but I figured it out pretty easily. The picture is great, and now my family and I are hooked on 3D. The picture is so good, it is costing me a lot in add-ons. I did have to add a sound bar because the speakers that are built in are weak. I also put a black curtain behind the tv because we have a white wall and the black helps with the contrast. I watched Attack the Block the other day and the black in the movie was so black, I thought the tv turned off for a second. Pricey but great.

I'll start out this review by stating I've been a Samsung owner my entire life and upgraded from the JS8500 to this OLED. Right now you can two of the samsungs for the same price as this one but ild still take this one. The abilities his tv has are unparalleled. When I compared native 4K content between the two I was blown away by how much better the OLED performed. I will tell you the OLED doesn't get quite as bright but the blacks are as black as can possibly be. When watching full 1080p content and letting the ups sled do its work, it performs great. I don't ever watch anything less than that so I can't give a better detailed description on the upscaler. In short, if you are looking for the best tv in the market, this is the one you want.

I just bought this tv two weeks ago.The price just went up due to the manufacturer. However, one gets a 45 day rice guarantee from Best Buy so I figured I'm protected from super bowl sales. The TV is as advertised and reviewed on the web, very beautiful picture. The smart tv hooked right up to my wifi so I had instant streaming with 4K from Utube to watch. The travel and wildlife films are the best. One can see every detail like you are right there.I tell my wife we can stay home and watch tv instead of traveling all over to see whatever we choose as the films are released. The geek squad guys did a professional job hanging the tv on my wall with the special holder and cleaned up everything after showing me the remote for a few minutes. They attached my cable modem on the back of the tv so absolutely no wires are showing just like my wife wanted-she was pleased. So,I've watched football, the Martian dvd ,local news, and all kinds of steaming from the apps already on this tv.Everything is beautiful and very easy to adjust things like brightness and sound if things are too dark, etc.at first. You can tell,I'm very happy- 5 stars for the tv and geek squad guys.

Upgraded from a Sony Bravia. The OLED blacks are black, the colors are vibrant, Web OS is very intuitive. As of right now, the top of the line TV. Hopefully it's current features are future proof, at least for a few years. Reliability is an unknown at this time since it's so new. Everything it does is top notch. No complaints.

Something about the picture on this thing changes the whole viewing experience. My TV shows, movies all "feel" different. Its more like watching the stories through a window than watching on a TV. Super bright, very contrasty (is that a word?), ultra sharp, the color is amazing. LOVE it!

This TV is beautiful in many respects. The design, the color and the true blacks. The lack of any motion blur is also great. Two issues are causing me to return it. The first is the darks/shadows they look really bad, splotchy, I thought it was the content at first then I assumed the upscaling but it is present even on 4k content, it just looks really bad. The second issue I have is the lack of 802.11ac wifi. LG seems to be the only manufacturer that hasn't adopted the latest wifi standard. In conclusion for the price I needed to love it and I didn't, I could have dealt with the wifi but the poor shadows would have bothered me for the life of the TV.

Best TV and picture currently out there. Deep black just like plasma. Great color. Crisp details. Love it. Easy to use. Minimalist design. Stand design makes the TV look as if it is floating. Highly recommend it.

This is, at the moment of the review, essentially the best TV one can buy in terms of image quality. It is, however, let down by some quality control issues, including uneven shadows, slow input lag time, and finicky HDMI ARC. Now if this was a $3000 TV most of those shortcomings may have been acceptable, but at the current pricing of $5000 the TV is a low value for money.

I looked at and researched this tv for several months before finally pulling the trigger. I'm sorry I waited. This tv is absolutely fantastic. Upscaled hi def programming is excellent. The sharpness, and color are superb. The best thing though is the absolute blacks. I didn't think it would make that big a difference but it really makes the colors pop. The 4K material on Netflix and You Tube is nothing but the best. I can't wait to get a 4K bluray player to see what this tv can really do. It even handles standard def tv pretty good. We occasionally watch MeTV. Though you can tell it's still standard def it really is a lot better. My old tv was a Pioneer Elite Plasma. I thought that was great until we got this one

    No Web Browser Updates

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is a great TV, however, for the price the smart tv features advertised should have the ability to be updated. For example; when we purchased this television we were told we did not need chromecast to connect our devices. I have a Samsung Galaxy s6, can't connect this device to the tv. Also, the Web browser will become obsolete over time as the Internet conditions to evolve conducting security and software updates. These are things this TV will NOT allow or do. The Web browser is what it is when you buy it. I contacted LG about this and their response is.. there is no software to update the world wide web...Geek Squad ha no answers for me either. Although the picture is great and it's convenient to have some apps on here, I think I will return this and wait for the "Smart" tv to evolve a bit more to justify paying the price. I got the tv for $5k, can't imagine paying more. It's nice, but not Awesome for the price. I also don't recommend purchasing Geek Squads warranty as the tv is covered for a year and Geek Squad doesn't know much about this product

Still not ready for prime time

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The picture on the tv is great, colors are great and the black is black. My set had banding issues, across the entire screen. This led to having the dirty screen effect. It wasn't nearly as bad as some Tvs I've had in the past, but for the price tag I couldn't justify the cost of the tv. I'm a die hard plasma fan and was hoping this would be the tv for me, be sadly it isnt ready for prime time. Another issues I noticed was screen judder. The tv can't handle 24p properly and causes the picture to shutter some, which was very annoying. My opinion is that if you are someone who is overly critical on your TVs then just wait a few more years for the technology to jump forward. It has the potential but I don't feel it is truly ready just yet. I am getting the Sony 65x950 in its place and will write a review after several days with the unit. Hopefully this review has helped some, I just wish my unit would have been perfect but I'm sure in a few years I will finally have the replacement for my plasmas.

I've been waiting for a flat oled TV since I knew oled existed (2 years ago I bought a galaxy note 3 and was blown away by the pure black that oled can achieve). The picture quality has exceeded all of my expectations, as well as to my surprise, the 3d is spectacular. I can't believe that the 2d to 3d pseudo conversion works as well as it does. I love this TV and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

    Excellent Technology Still Being Perfected

I'm actually a two time owner of the OLED TV technology. I owned one of the curved Samsung models some years ago and now I recently picked up this 4K model. Opted to NOT buy the more expensive 2016 E series because of a couple of reasons. 1. The nits of brightness output though higher than this model, still doesn't come very close to some of the elite LED panel 4k sets that offer HDR playback. 2. The image retention issue STILL exists. So with that said, obviously this review is on the 2015 best TV you could buy. I've also reviewed the Samsung JS9500, between one of the two sets you have your tv of the year for 2015. Picture quality on this set is great. You don't understand the importance of superb contrast until you don't have it, and even taking a step down to the Samsung LED I mentioned above, though the best LED of it's time, still doesn't give you the separation and details in dark scenes that you get here. All of that is what you'll always hear about OLED. Then and now. This technology though isn't without it's flaws. This is not gaming paradise. The input lag measure around 60MS.. I play Street Fighter competitive wise, never will a tv ever be taken seriously for me on gaming but beauty without performance is just a picture frame. Tons of Samsung sets will be a better choice if you have a gamer in the house. Some will not notice the difference but it's the same comparison as with contrast, you notice more lag when it's present. For the enthusiast, like myself, who has a specific"theater room" treat yourself to this tech. I'm now moving this from my theater room to my bed room. I have the KS9800 coming in 78" for my theater room. I recommend the tv but for me NITS and more vivid calibrated colors are what I prefer over infinite contrast for my theater setup.

After months of research (and saving up my $) I finally decided on LG's 65' OLED flat panel. Definitely the best 5 grand I've ever spent. The picture is perfect, and required minimal adjustment to get that way. Colors are vibrant, with OLED's true blacks helping the other colors stand out. As a Directv subscriber, I look forward to the 4K content they are promising in 2016. But this TV does a great job up scaling the existing HD signal. The 4K that is already available from Netflix, YouTube, etc. looks phenomenal,

There isn't anything like this tv. When you stream 4k content from amazon or netflix you can see the quality. Don't expect the picture to look like it does in the store for everyday shows. It will look great but if you have directv the box requires an upgrade which I would wait for until they have a genie that is 4k and not just a client. The motion blur thing you can notice for a second, Im still investigating if there is something wrong with mine.

First off, this TV is worth spending the extra money. I tried a 75 in Sony 4k, then traded in for a Samsung 65 in SUHD. Extremely disappointed, so I bucked up and went for the OLED. Its awesome!!! If you can afford get it, I would say its at least 3x better than the best Samsung on the market. The white back is a bit ugly, but who cares. The viewing angle is ridiculous, so compare and enjoy. Remote is also user friendly andceasy to use.

We are proud to have cut the cable TV cord. We have this TV hooked up via HDMI 2.0 to an Alienware X51 and it performs beautifully. Steaming sports, movies and TV shows look amazing. We added LED back lights and used the wall mount that Best Buy included with the purchase. A word of caution, you can not use a generic wall mount with this TV because the screw attachments on the back of the TV are not lined up in a linear fashion.
