The MERIDIAN sound from this soundbar is impressive in standard mode. Upfiring speakers simulate front surround and Atmos immersion is very good. Rear surround speakers are "wireless" to the extent that they connect to the MODULE, NOT the soundbar. Still, all in all, more than sufficient sound for any size room.

I was excited to give this soundbar a try. It has plenty of features like 4k passthrough and Google assist. I really liked that it came with the rear speakers. After a few hours of setup and messing with the sound settings I was just frustrated and disappointed. It sounded so flat the bass was weak. I now agree with the reviews that say the sound is "muddy". I returned it for the HW-Q80R. I'm honestly very impressed with the Q80R. Just buy the rear speaker kit for a 7.1.2 setup. You won't regret it!

First time soundbar customer. Less speakers to mount and getting better sound, i was very surprised. Great sound for a room with low ceiling height and a 36×36 room size. Love LG products! It's perfect with my 60" LG 3d TV.

Purchased this set to go along with my LG Oled. Setup was easy and sounded great as soon as I turned it on, unfortunately a few flaws started to show up. First thing I noticed was the in and out of voice dialog. In other words scenes with heavily dialog would be fine one minute and right in the middle of conversation something would shift and it sounded like the person was standing inside a tin can. Not sure if it’s the sound bar cycling through voice modes or what, but it was very frustrating. The second issue I noticed was the cutting in and out of the sound bar. For some reason the sound bar seems to “hiccup” or cut in and out while listening. That became very frustrating when watching tv or movies on top of the other issue listed. In fairness to LG when working properly the sound bar does sound great. Watching Midway the attack scenes with planes flying overhead sounded great. However, the two flaws I experienced couldn’t be overcome by the sound so I ultimately returned the sound bar and purchased a Sonos.

Hooked this up to my lg oled tv. The sound is amazing and it makes that home theater experience finally happen for my household.

I purchased this soundbar system on cyber Monday. I wasn't able to use it until March due to the timeframe of getting my home built. Within a few days, the subwoofer started making crackling noises. It's worse when the sound effect is on Movie, and of course, that's what I like while watching a movie. But it also does it on other sound effects as well. This is very disappointing considering the price.

This sound bar and home theater sound system makes it so you hear every little detail like it was meant to be heard!

I don't know if mine was a lemon, defect, or its just how they are... but mine had absolutely no bass. As much as I tried to play around with the settings, nothing helped. It's as if there was only bass in areas of movies where there were lots of action and in music is hard to get that yolt of bass to feel nice with your favorite song. I returned mine back.

I'll cut to the chase, If you plan to sit this on a TV stand or mount it to the wall you should be good. Otherwise if you plan mount it under your TV to the TV mount, buy something else and save yourself some grief. LG decided to design the mounting holes on the sound bar so far apart the majority(perhaps all??) of soundbar mounts on the market will not work. As another reviewer stated it took Best Buy a month to find something to try. I'm only a week into this and still looking. The problem is this critical spec data is not available at all from the LG product manual or advertising. Nor do the mount manufactures clearly advertise the max width of mounting holes. I realize now all the pictures of this product show it sitting on a shelf and not mounted. I did not realize someone would actually make a good sound bar that cant be mounted to a TV mount. I would return this if I hadn't thrown the box away already. I have my TV in a corner with an articulating mount and need the sound bar mounted on the TV mount.

I didn't have it hooked up until a month later because I needed to mount the TV on the wall and had to wait for Geek Squad to install it. It seem to work fine that day but we didn't use it much. No instructions anywhere on how to operate it so you must experiment on your own. After a week we noticed a crackling sound from the woofer and the sound modes keep changing while you are watching the TV. too late to return to Best Buy now I'm at LG's mercy. Just boxed it up to send to their repair center. too much $$$ for this product. I have a Samsung sound bar in another room that I paid $150 for that works better

This sound bar sounds just like a movie theater. Unfortunately the subwoofer started cutting out after two weeks. It's annoying when trying to watch a movie and the sub keeps losing connection.
